My Home Land l I have always been so far from my home land the place that holds my family I know it hurts you mom for me to be so far but really you are so near Mom dont cry, you know I must go you know I cant stay here its not my place, tis' yours I fear l With everything I hold dear tucked into my heart I pack my bag, walk out the door I can hardly contain the urge to run to bolt out of this wretched place l the ground is hard and oh so hot... everything the wrong color... everything is dead.. god I cant stand it here, its ugly barren & harsh l I know I ran as soon as I could I started the journey to leave this place l having already seen so much I already knew something waited for me elsewhere a gentler place, one with color one with soft dark earth... the smell of the rains... l oh mom I hope you understand your child has gone away to find her own way l I have seen the fields of wheat mom, they were swaying in the wind hill after hill moving with a life of its own swaying across the plaine like a dancing child, no cares, just bending to the breeze l streams of water running everywhere mom running from the mountains with the promis of rain sure to come to fill the air with the sweetest smell making the earth so rich... something I need mom... I cant live in this desert anymore... l Rain © cls |
