Seaesta |
Preparation |
Ready to set sail. The hardest part is leaving land.. |
![]() |
The crew of Seaesta. After five years of preparation we are ready to leave land - at least for a little while. The crew is experienced but no doubt will learn much more during their year on the Ocean. James has sailed all his life. Heather has sailed for a few years now, but still gets terribly sea sick. The boys Evan and Pierce are just the right age to adapt to the sea gypsy life. Although the boat amenities are rustic and entertainment is self produced the sea journey should provide a great learning experience for all of the crew. |
The sailing vessel is a 41 ft Gulfstar Ketch. It has been out fitted with extra shelves and the forward head converted into storage. Ventilation was added to all the cubby doors utilizing Heather's artwork. "Simple does it" has been our motto during Seaesta's refit. The less electronics on board the less will break... of course a CD player to listen to Jimmy Buffett is a necessity.. |
