Dear Joseph,
I don't think so. However all of us must obey legitimate authority (unless they order us to do something sinful). Otherwise we would have a chaos - and bitterness - which does great damage, especially to young people and children. I would address your question to the person in authority over the priest, namely his bishop. No doubt there are others in the parish who would like to show a fuller sign of reverence, like genuflecting while the person in front receives. But meanwhile I encourage you to show external reverence by making a simple or profound bow, but not in a way which would slow the communion procession.
Let me know how it turns out.
God bless,
Fr. Phil Bloom
