Holy Year Pilgrimage

(April 8, 2000)

About three hundred people participated in the eight mile pilgrimage from Holy Family to St. James Cathedral, according to Progress reporter Terry McGuire. Here are a couple of letters from ladies who provided support for the pilgrimage:

Dear Fr. Phil,

What a beautiful sight you all were on your trek to the Cathedral today!! Thanks so much for letting me be a part of your pilgrimage (driving along side). I'm so glad I got to see it, and I especially loved how you started it all out with Benediction and then did the Stations of the Cross along the way. And what a great turn out you had! Becky and I kept saying to each other in the car all along the way "Wow, this is so cool!" I hope you'll have some pictures on your web site if anyone took any since I forgot my camera this morning and I know all the others at our study group would love to see how it went.

God bless you all,

Mary Smith

P.S. No wonder the weather was so great - Heaven was certainly smiling down on you all today!

WOW! Mary & I both felt honored to witness the pilgimage on Saturday. It was AWESOME and such a blessing to be a small part of it. We did not stay for the Mass or Way of St. James, but we were deeply moved. God Bless you for all you do and for being the Priest that you are.

Becky
