This past Sunday I had an experience from the Lord and I believe that He would like for me to share it. I was resting and relaxing, reading a book on the life of Elijah the prophet. When I came to the part when Elijah was fleeing to the wilderness after Mt. Carmel, and the Angel of the Lord came to him providing a meal, the Holy Spirit touched me and I went immediately to this scripture:

I Kings 19: 7

"And the Angel of the Lord came back the second time, and touched him and said, 'Arise, and eat, for the journey is too great for you.' "

I noticed that the meal that the Lord provided for Elijah was bread and water; then the Lord lead me to this scripture:

John 6: 48-51

"I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and are dead. This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world."

I believe that the "meal" that the Lord has for us is a closer walk with Him, to partake of His life:

John 6: 56

"He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him."

The "journey" that is ahead was very clearly related to me as being a time persecution that is coming, although nothing else about it was given to me.

The Lord then reminded me of a poem that He gave to me a few months ago:

The Bread, pitted and torn,

mixed in blood, water, and oil,

my robes washed white.

The Lord then told me that the poem was not yet finished, and then took me to another scripture:

Revelation 12:11

"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death."

What I believe that the Lord has shown me is that many of us are washed in His Blood, and He has given us all a testimony, but there are still many who love this life too much, and to overcome in the times ahead we will need to let go and partake of His life, death, and resurrection.

" O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusts in Him.

-Psalm 34: 8
