Carole Rose Livingston

I met Carole and Ivice in June 1983 at the last exclusively "Songs of Freedom and Struggle" summer gathering before the organization merged with People's Music Network of Boston. I published several of Carole's songs in Songletter including her classic, "I'm a Friend of the Fetus." Frank Levin later improved my lead sheet of the song. Carole was a down-to-earth scholar who had genuine compassion for people. Her love of topical music included some serious scholarship of broadsides published hundreds of years ago.
It's truly mysterious to me that so much life can be snuffed out. But Carole will live in my memory.
