      Common : Single Menu Item

    Only one Solid Edge item in Start menu - opens Solid Edge without any environment but a new interface.

      Common : Icons with Text

    Icons now have text and flyout with vertical icon menus.

    Also menu items have bitmaps to left.

      Common : Command Assistant

    A new Command Assistant helps user through all steps if it is turned ON in the Start screen.

      Common : Command Finder

    New Command Finder searches a command and also highlights the corresponding tool on the toolbar or expands a menu for you if the command is in a pulldown menu.

      Common : Feature Error Assistant

    Feature Error Assistant replaces the TO DO list and has :

  • Delete Error

  • Zoom to Error

  • More description about the Error

  • Corrective Action

  • Dynamic Edit for the error


    • Similarly, there is a Profile Error Assistant with lots of help.

      Part : Direct Edit - Move faces

    Make design changes to models imported from other CAD systems and native Solid Edge models by directly editing the surface and solid geometry.

      Part : Direct Edit - Rotate faces

    Roate faces on imported geometry.

      Part : Direct Edit - Resize faces

    Directly. resize faces (eg. hole size) on imported geometry without history tree (features).

      Sheetmetal : Direct Edit - Edit Bend Angle

    Edit the bend angle of a flange of sheetmetal parts imported from other CAD programs.

      Sheetmetal : Direct Edit - Resize Bend Radius

    Edit the bend radius of sheetmetal parts imported from other CAD programs.

      Part : Direct Edit - Resize Rounds

    Edit the radius of rounds on imported data.

      Part : Material Table

    A Material Table is now available which contains definitions for use in all appropriate areas of the product :

  • Density

  • Material name

  • Face Style

  • Render Style

  • Cross-fill (fill) in Draft

  • Sheet Metal Properties

    •   Assembly : Automatic Coping

    Coping in Structural frames is now automatic. Set this ON in the options dialog.

      Assembly : Tranperant Part

    Part remains transperant until it is fully constrained.

      Assembly : Pattern along Curve

    Occurrences can be patterned along curve in assembly.

      Assembly : Virtual Studio

    Scene Render is not forced every time some settings (background, render type, etc.) is changed.

    Rendering occurs when Virtual Studio+ is started first time.
