    Cutting Plane Terminator

How do I change the size of the cutting plane arrowhead ?

    - Linwood Tompkins <ltomkins2004@email.com>

Right click on the cutting plane and select Properties.

    Take the General tab.

In the Terminator area, select Length = [ ] x Font size and specify the length of the terminator (arrowhead) in terms of the font size.

    Move Terminator

And how do I move the cutting plane label from its default place ?

    - Mary Lake < maryl@pas.eth.edu>

Click the cutting plane terminator label.

Keep the mouse button (MB1) pressed for a second and then start dragging.

The label will start moving and a border will appear around it as you drag.

Release the mouse in the new position.

    Reducing File Size

What are the various methods for reducing file size and for archiving ?

    - Abdul Holley <abdul@holleycranes.com >

  • Method No 1: Suppress all rounds (or chamfers) to reduce file size.

Download and use the toggle round utility from the download page.

  • Method No 2: Prefer cutout to a hole feature. Read a tip on how this will help you reduce the file size.

  • Method No 3: Another method for archiving purpose is to use the Copy Surface command from the surfacing toolbar.

In that, select Body as the option from the ribbon bar and select the entire model.

Next, right-click the newly created Body feature from the Edgebar and select Drop Parents.

After this, select everything except the Body feature and the basic reference planes and delete them.

This will also save considerable disk space when archiving your models.

  • Method 3 - answered by Amit Bhatia.
