True Love Never Dies

CHAPTER 2

During the lunch break Usagi was eating her yummy lunch when she heard:

-Hey, ODANGO!

Usagi turned her head and saw Seiya coming to her table.

-Can’t I eat my lunch alone? -she asked.

-You shouldn’t eat so much, you might get fat! -he said and tears started running down her cheeks. Then she said something to herself quietly:

-Maybe that’s why he left me... -she began crying even harder.

-No, don’t cry. I was only joking, I didn’t mean to... -then he stopped for a moment remembering her words. -Did you say he left you?

-Yes, yesterday. That’s why I called you, Seiya. I needed someone dear to me, to make me feel better. Sorry, Seiya...

-That’s okay. I wanted to see you anyway. By the way, when can we meet to talk?

-I don’t think today is a good day. How about tomorrow evening, at 8?

-Great. Oh, we have to go, the lessons are starting.

Later, at the Three Lights’ apartment. Yaten was talking to Taiki.

-Where is Seiya? He knows we have a rehearsal today.

-He must be at Usagi’s house.

-Why does he even try? He knows she will never ever love him... -before Yaten was able to finish, Seiya came into the room.

-And why do you think so, Yaten?

-Because you’re not good enough for her, that’s why. If she had a choice of all the guys in the world, you would be her last choice.

This made Seiya very mad, he was going to punch Yaten in the face, but Taiki stopped Seiya.

-So are you saying that you are better than me, huh Yaten?

-A blind person could see that. -replied Yaten.

-I have an idea guys, -Taiki said. -why don’t we make a competition of that.

-What are you saying Taiki? -asked Seiya.

-Simple. Let’s make a competition: Seiya vs. Yaten. It would be a good way to amuse our fans. But just to make it fun, you would have to pick out a girl as your partner. I know it sounds crazy, but think about it, you could find out which one of you is better.

-Okay, that way I will prove I am better to you Yaten. -Seiya said.

-Why not. -Said Yaten.

-Good. I’ll make the cards with the names and put them in a box. Seiya, you call our agent.

It was late and the Three Lights were sleeping, except for Seiya, who was waiting for the other two to fall asleep. He got out of bed and tiptoed to the living room, where the box with the names was. He wanted to make sure he would get Usagi as his partner. So he did something and went back to his room, but he didn’t know that Yaten was watching him.

-So, you want to pick Usagi, don’t you? I’ll make sure you don’t...

Yaten fixed it up, that Seiya would pick Minako, not Usagi and also went back to sleep. When Seiya returned to bed, he immediately fell asleep. Seiya was dreaming that he was holding Usagi in his arms and she was telling him how much she loved him. And he was looking into her eyes and was saying that they would never part. Then they kissed. Yaten and Taiki came into Seiya’s room and saw him kissing his pillow. They started laughing very hard. Then Yaten said:

-Hey Taiki, guess whom he is dreaming about? Then they started laughing even harder, but all this noise woke Seiya up. When Seiya woke up, he saw the pillow in his hands and started to blush. He quickly let go of it and was looking very embarrassed.

-What’s for breakfast, guys?

-It’s 11:00 a.m., we have already eaten breakfast, Seiya. -Taiki said.

-If you want breakfast, you will have to eat out. And don’t forget, at 12:30, we are having a little competition near the school, if you won’t come, it will mean that I had won.

-I know you want me not to come, but I will be there, Yaten! -Seiya said. -Now will you please get out of my room and let me get dressed?

Seiya was walking in the street looking at the sky, with his arms over his head and was thinking about the dream that he had this morning.

-I wonder what it would really be like? - He was thinking to himself. Then he went into the cafe and sat down near the window. Then he ordered a cup of tea and a sandwich. When he was drinking his tea, he heard some familiar voices. He looked around and saw Ami, Rei, Minako and Makoto sitting at the table nearby. He walked up to them and sat by their table.

-Hi girls. -He said.

-Hello, Seiya. -Minako said and had hearts in her eyes. -Where is Yaten-chan?

-Well, he’s not here. I woke up too late and had to eat breakfast here. Yaten and Taiki are in our apartment. But come near the school today at 12:30 and you will be able to see them.

-Why at 12:30? -asked Rei.

-Are you guys giving a concert or something? -asked Ami.

-No. -Seiya said. -Yaten kind of said that he was better than me, so we are having a competition to find out.

-Really? -asked Makoto, who looked very surprised.

-Yes, and we are going to each pick a girl as our partner. So if you want to join us you must come and try your luck.

-Wow!!! -All the girls said and each of them went into their dreams, thinking what it would be like if Yaten or Seiya picked one of them. Only Ami didn’t.

-But we will have a very hard geography test on Monday! We have to study! -she said.

Everyone had sweat-drops on their heads. Then Minako took her arm around Ami and quietly whispered:

-Aren’t you just saying that because Taiki won’t take a part in this?

-Well? -Ami became very red.

-Don’t worry, -Seiya said. -You can take part in the judgment with Taiki. I am very sure he will be more than happy to have you near him.

-Thank you very much, Seiya.

-No big deal, Ami. -he said. -By the way, where is Odango?

-Oh, Usagi, -Rei said. -She is as always late. Look there she comes.

As Rei said, they saw someone running to the cafe very fast. Usagi rushed in through the door and sat down by the table. She had ran so fast that she didn’t even notice Seiya sitting there.

-Sorry, I overslept, -she said. -Oh, hello Seiya. I did not notice you.

-I wish you would notice me, I always notice you, Odango.

Usagi is blushed.

-So why are you here?
