Sailormoon Sailor Universe Episode 221

Free Your Heart, And Your Life Will Always Be Beautiful!

Usagi’s Voice:  Sometimes something bad will happen in your life. You may recover from some of them and continue your future, dream, and life. But in some cases, you may have no choice but have to change your expected future. But the point is: if you believe in yourselves, and the people who love you, you can go on.

Eight girls of Juuban high are having lunch in the playground with Nara and Umino.

Usagi (begging Akiko):  May I go with you too?

Akiko (coldly):  I don’t think so. It’s too dangerous for me to bring you along.

Usagi (pouting):  It’s not fair! You’re taking everyone but me. Come on. I won’t touch anything. Please?

Akiko (thinks for a minute first):  All right, but you’ll get kicked out if you don’t follow instructions.

Usagi (jumps up smilingly):  Hurray!

[Title Screen]

Usagi and Chiyoko are making dinner in the kitchen.

Usagi:  Hey, why didn’t you say something when Akiko-chan rejected my request?

Chiyoko:  If I asked her to let you go, it would be like I ordered her to do so. You know they still follow everything Seiya and I say.

Usagi:  I knew it, and you’re right. It would be like you forced her to let me go.

Chiyoko:  Exactly. Sometimes I think you’re luckier than me. You know, you don’t have that problem with Rei-chan and the others. You guys have a true friendship.

Usagi:  Well, give them a chance. After all, your situation is different from ours. We were reborn and were friends first before we had our memories back, whilst Graces are still regarding themselves as Princess Irene’s guardians. Besides, Haruka-san, Michiru-san, and Setsuna-san don’t listen to me all the time. They have their own fighting method that has conflict with mine. Although I know they’re just trying to protect me, sometimes I do wish I had the power to order them to do what I want.

Chiyoko:  Hope time will change that. It’s getting late. Did the boys say they were going to be late? They promised me to have dinner with us tonight. They should be here by now. That worries me a little bit, you know, with the demons running around.

Usagi:  I didn’t hear anything. Don’t worry. Probably the professor asked Mamoru-san to stay to help him with something. Seiya-chan has to do recording with Taiki-kun and Yaten-kun. That kind of thing is often delayed.

Chiyoko:  I hope that’s the reason. Oh, when will their new CD come out anyway?

Usagi:  Seiya-chan said around the summer holiday.

Chiyoko:  Oh, I forgot to put salt in the soup. Usagi, two teaspoon should be fine.

Usagi:  Ok, two teaspoon. Shouldn’t it be three? Last time you gave three.

Chiyoko:  I added salt when I pan-fried the fish for the soup this time, so it just needs two teaspoons. By the way, how are you going to get permission from Seiya to let you on a small plane?

Usagi:  Honestly, I don’t know. Would you give me some suggestions?

Chiyoko:  Don’t get me into this. I have my own problem. I’m worried that Mamoru-san won’t let me go either.

Usagi:  They are too nervous about us. Although I know they just care about our safety, I still think they are overcaution.

The telephone in the kitchen rings. Chiyoko picks it up.

Chiyoko:  Moshi? Moshi? Oh, Mamoru-chan. Um…um…ok, bye.

Usagi:  What did he say?

Chiyoko:  You were right. He got kept after school to help the prof. He’s coming back now.

Usagi (smiling):  See? Nothing to worry about.

Seiya (distant from the living room):  We’re here!

Usagi drops what she’s doing and runs to the living room. Luckily, Chiyoko catches what she dropped in time. Chiyoko has sweat-drops and shakes her head immediately.

Usagi (jumping into Seiya’s arms):  Seiya-chan!

Seiya kisses her and then releases her. Seiya comes back with Taiki and Yaten. Taiki smiles at them and Yaten makes a face like always.

Usagi (smiling to Taiki and Yaten):  You guys have a seat. Dinner is almost ready. I’ll get something for you to drink.

Usagi leaves the living room. She comes back with tea. Seiya helps her pouring it.

Usagi:  What took you guys so long anyway, problems with recording?

Seiya:  No, my prof was late finishing classes so we went to the studio late.

Usagi:  Next time give us a call please. It was worrying us.

Later, after Mamoru came back, the four boys and two girls begin their dinner.

Chiyoko:  Mamoru-chan, Seiya, Taiki-kun, Yaten-kun, Akiko-chan is going to have her flying lesson this Saturday. She invited us to go with her, and we’re going to get on her plane with her. What do you think? Are you interested to go with us?

Mamoru:  You mean those small planes? They are very dangerous. I don’t think it’s such a good idea for you to go.

Chiyoko:  Oh come on, Mamoru-chan. Akiko-chan is a great driver. She has taken flying lessons for several months. She said her teacher thought she’s good. We’ll be safe. Please let us go. Ami-chan, Rei-chan, Makoto-chan, Minako-chan, Yuko-chan, Keiko-chan, Nara-chan, and Umino-san are all going too. Please?

Mamoru (thinks for a moment):  Ok, you may go, but makes sure you’ll be absolutely careful.

Chiyoko (smiling teasingly):  Of course. Do you think I’m Usagi?

Usagi (pouting):  Hey!

Mamoru:  Ok, let me finish first. Unfortunately, I have to assist a surgeon this Saturday, so I can’t go with you. I’m sorry.

Chiyoko (smiling):  Never mind. I understand.

Seiya (frowning):  Odango, you’re going as well? How come I never heard of it?

Usagi:  Come on, Seiya-chan. Please let me go. I really want to. You may come with me. You can pull me back if you see I’ve done anything wrong.

Seiya:  Taiki, Yaten, do you want to come as well? I think we don’t have anything to do on Saturday.

Taiki and Yaten:  Sure, why not.

Seiya:  Ok, we’ll all go with you. But I won’t let you do anything that I think it’s dangerous and you’ll listen to me. Promise?

Usagi (excitedly):  Um, promise. Woo! This Saturday is going to be fun!

Nicole is searching in her garden for a suitable flower to send to Earth. Finally, she picks hibiscus. As a girl, Hibiscus has red short hair and black eyes and she’s wearing yellow bikini with white ribbons around her body.

Nicole:  Hibiscus, you know what you should do.

Hibiscus (smiling evilly and bowing to Nicole):  Yes, of course, your highness.

On Saturday, Usagi, Chiyoko, Three Lights, Graces, and the four inners go to a flying school in the countryside. They’ve rent a van and a driver to go there. The van has four seats a row: two on the left of the aisle, two on the right. From one window to another window, Yaten, Taiki, Seiya, and Usagi are on the first row, Minako, Ami, Yuko, and Chiyoko are on the second, Rei, Makoto, Keiko, and Akiko are on the third. Nara and Umino are on the fourth. Yaten’s watching the landscape from the window silently and Minako keeps standing up and asking him questions from behind. Ami and Taiki are reading books and sometimes they exchange opinions about what they’re reading. Yuko and Keiko are talking anything that jumps to their mind, from schoolwork to the new enemy. Akiko and Chiyoko join them sometimes but most of the time Akiko’s watching outside silently and Chiyoko’s thinking to herself. Nara and Umino are enjoying their moment together. Usagi’s lying against Seiya most of the time and they enjoy just holding each other silently. But you know Usagi. She runs around sometimes to talk to the others, especially Chiyoko. Soon, they reach the school. Akiko leads them to see her teacher, who’s a lady around 40 years old. She has brown short hair and blue eyes, and is wearing her sportswear and a smile.

Akiko:  I’d like you to meet my teacher, Hisakawa Yuri-san.

Yuri:  Nice to meet you all. Akiko-chan, you know what you should do first, right?

Akiko nods and gets on a plane. The others are curiously looking at her fly that thing. Akiko starts the plane and flies away. Everyone looks up at the sky, at the plane.

Yuri:  Akiko-chan is doing really well. She has quite a knack for this.

Usagi (excitedly):  May I try later?

Seiya (hold her from behind):  YOU are not trying anything! You’ll hurt yourself!

Everyone, except Yuri and Usagi, laughs. Yuri looks around the laughing boys and girls and can’t figure out why they’re laughing. But she knows that there’s one thing she needs Seiya to know, although she doesn’t remember who he is. (^_^0)

Yuri (to Seiya): I know a lot of people think flying on a small plane is dangerous. But actually it’s very safe. You don’t need to be worried about your wife to try one.

Seiya and Usagi are deeply blushed immediately. The others, except Yuri, burst into laughter again, and harder this time. Yuri, once again, looks around and doesn’t understand what’s wrong. Later, Akiko comes back, and Yuri drives a round to show the girls and boys what she can do. The others all look up smilingly. But when Usagi turns around, she sees a good-looking young man around her age in a wheelchair with a cat on his lap. He’s staring at the plane sadly and caressing his cat, which is black and has a white underbelly and a star on his chest, unwittingly. Usagi’s smile fades away and she gets Chiyoko’s attention by elbowing her.

Chiyoko:  He seems to be really sad. Akiko-chan, do you know who he is?

Akiko:  Oh, he’s Hisakawa Akira-san, Yuri-san’s son.

Usagi:  Why is he in a wheelchair?

Akiko:  Well, I’m not sure. I’ve never had the nerve and the chance to ask Yuri-san about it. But I know that Yuri-san’s relationship with her son isn’t very good.

Usagi and Chiyoko exchange a glance and look at the sad boy again.

[CM Break]

After lunch, they take a rest before Yuri starts to teach the others how to fly a small plane. The other boys and girls walk and take a look around the school, but Usagi and Chiyoko go to talk to Yuri. Seiya’s with them (to be with Usagi actually of course).

Usagi:  Yuri-san, I know this is none of our business. But I heard about your relationship with your son. We’d like to hear the story.

Chiyoko:  We understand if you don’t want to talk about it. But we’d really want to help, since you’re such a nice person. Or even just talk about it. It’ll make you feel more comfortable.

Yuri looks at Chiyoko, then Usagi, then Seiya, and then Yuri sighs.

Yuri:  Ever since Akira was just a little boy, he always wanted to be a pilot like me. One day, I was driving a car that my husband and Akira were in it. Some guy was drunk and lost control of his car…we had a car accident. My husband died and Akira became this way. He was only ten years old…he broke-down. The doctor said Akira actually could have a surgery and had a big chance to walk again. But he was so upset with the incident, and especially angry with me, that he refused to have the surgery. He said it was no use, and he has never spoken to me since. He always sits there looking at the sky, especially when I’m flying. He really wants to be a pilot, but he’s so angry with me that every time I ask him to have the surgery, he just says something self-abandoned and shouts at me, saying it was my fault for him being this way…

Usagi (jumps up from her chair):  Of course not! Of course not! How could he say that?! I’m going to talk to him myself!

Seiya (pulls Usagi back):  Come back here and calm down!

Chiyoko:  Yuri-san, I agree it was nobody’s fault, but I also know that he just tried to give a reason for his accident by blaming someone else instead of that’s his bad luck.

Usagi:  So that gives him the excuse?

Chiyoko:  That’s not what I mean. I meant he’s doing it to make himself better and I think we should be considerate for his situation.

Yuri:  I know. But I don’t want this to last. I tried to break the ice but he just shut the door every time I tried to talk to him.

Chiyoko:  You don’t have to talk to him. Instead, you should try to show him how much you care for him, like cook a meal for him and have it with him, or…

Akiko (suddenly shows up):  or even get on an aircraft with him.

Usagi, Chiyoko, and Yuri:  Akiko-chan!

Akiko sits down besides them.

Akiko:  If you want to convince him to have the surgery, you have to make him feel confident of himself first.

Usagi (surprised):  I thought you were the kind of person that only mined your own matters and kept distant from people.

Akiko:  I am, and that because I believe I should keep calm and rational but not emotional, so I can help…make most rational decisions. Ok, enough about me. Let’s get back to Yuri-san’s problem. Are we going to help her?

Usagi (solicitously):  Of course! I’m in, definitely.

Seiya:  You’re earnest at everything, aren’t you?

Usagi (smiling):  And you love that side of me, don’t you?

They smile at each other and kiss.

Yuri (smiling):  You two really share a good marriage.

Seiya and Usagi are blushed.

Chiyoko (giggles):  Actually, they’re not married. Don’t you think they’re too young to be married?

Yuri (surprised):  Oh, I thought they were just, you know, early marriage. But you two really act like you are.

Seiya and Usagi are even more blushed. Later, Akira’s sitting in front of a balcony window and staring at the sky. His cat is still on his lap. Usagi, Chiyoko, Seiya, and Akiko show up besides him.

Akiko:  If you want to be a pilot, you have to try your very best to be one.

Akira (shocked):  Who are you?

Akiko:  You don’t need to know who we are. Tell me. Do you want to be a pilot?

Akira nods.

Akiko:  If you want to be one, you have to be in good condition first.

Akira (frowning):  My mom sent you, didn’t she? She was the one who put me into this condition! She has no right to ask me what to do whatsoever!

Akiko:  You know, she gave you your life. She should have the right to take it back whenever she wants, don’t you think?

Akira has never heard such a theory before. He’s shocked.

Chiyoko:  Akira-san, I know you’re blaming your mom for this because you’re seeking rationality in your universe. You want to blame someone for your bad luck, which will make you feel better. But the truth is: accidents just happen! All we could do is to hope for the best and be open to exploring new paths. Have the surgery first! If it’s a success, you can be a pilot then. If it fails, well, I know you really want to be a pilot, but there’s a whole world out there for you to explore. There’re a lot options for you. Don’t give up now. If you give up, you’ll never win. If you try your best, you won’t regret even you fail.

Usagi:  And don’t hurt your mom anymore. It wasn’t really her fault. Your attitude is hurting her. Even if you still think it was her fault, she has enough punishment already. Don’t you agree?

Akira looks at the four of them. When he opens his mouth and tries to say something. They hear Yuri screaming somewhere.

Akira (nervously):  Mom!

Akiko:  Let’s go!

The four of them run away.

Akira (sincerely):  Please save my mom.

Akiko nods to him. Usagi and Chiyoko nod to him with smiles. At the same time, Hibiscus has got the Crystals of Yuri and some other people. Hibiscus’s disappointed because none of them is the right one.

Moon:  What makes you think you have the right around here to destroy our wonderful holiday and hurt people, huh? For love and hope…

Protector:  the sailor-suited pretty soldiers…

Moon:  Sailor Cosmos Moon!

Protector:  Sailor Cosmos Protector!

Fighter:  Sailor Cosmos Fighter!

Thalia:  And, bring the world beauty and peace. Sailor Thalia!

Four together:  In the name of love and justice, we will punish you!

Hibiscus:  Mumbo jumbo! Mumbo jumbo! Let’s fight but not talk!

Hibiscus releases her ribbons to them.

Thalia:  Blooming Flowers!

Ribbons are blocked.

Fighter:  Love Crystal Divine Light!

Protector:  Hope Crystal Divine Light!

Moon:  Hope Crystal Eternal Light!

Hibiscus’s destroyed immediately and easily. Later, Akira talks with Yuri.

Akira (sincerely):  I’m sorry, mom. I was wrong. It was actually no one’s fault. You didn’t want me to get hurt either.

Yuri (touched):  Thanks for forgiving me.

Akira:  No, I should be the one asking forgiveness. I’m sorry, mom.

They hug each other tight and they have tears in their eyes. The others look at them merrily. Everyone is touched

Akira:  You know what. I’ll have the surgery. And even by some chances I can’t be a pilot, I’ll never be self-abandoned ever again. I’ll live happily and live on.

Yuri:  I’m glad. And I know you can do it. Actually, if you want, I can put you on the driver seat and let you try the feeling of driving the plane. You don’t need a pilot license to do that. Akiko-chan, would you like to come with us?

Akiko:  Certainly.

The three of them get on a small plane and fly away. Everyone else looks at the sky. The sky is sunny and blue. Yuri and Akira’s smiling faces show up in the sky.

Akira and Yuri (narrating):  Thank you.

Author’s Note

Although this one is the shortest one, it’s the best one between the Graces. I’d say even as good as or better than Chiyoko’s episode, episode 217. What do you think? I don’t know about of any limitation to be a pilot: the height, or you have to have hands and feet working. I just made that up for my story. If any of you think Akiko shouldn’t be able to fly a plane because she’s too short, or Akira should be able to get a pilot license since his hands are still working and it only needs the hands to fly, well, get over it. ^.< And yes, Akiko’s talk about herself is actually implying Yaten. Last, I’d like to have a little survey here. I’m a little worried if I’m making the story too long. So before we get too deep into this, I’d like to ask you guys how many episodes do you think should be the maximum? 30? 35? 40? Please let me know. And of course, give me some feedbacks. Without your feedbacks, I can’t pass through all these episodes, and I may can’t pass through the coming ones. Thanks.
