Sailormoon Sailor Universe Episode 224

Crisis Is Over? What’s Really Going On of Seiya and Chiyoko?

Usagi’s Voice:  I can handle enemy. Even when they had killed my friends, I had the confidence I could bring them back. But I’ve been Sailormoon for too long. I’ve almost forgotten that I’m Usagi as well, and there’s something that I can’t beat. Actually, even Sailormoon can do nothing about it.

Seiya wakes up in a bed in the hospital. Usagi is sitting beside him, holding his hand. Chiyoko is sitting at the end of the bed. Mamoru is standing behind her with his hands on her shoulders. Four inners, four outers, Taiki, Yaten, and Graces are standing around the room. Luna and Artemis are lying on the table at the end of the bed.

Seiya (smiling):  Oh, you guys all came. Thanks.

Seiya tries to get up and Usagi helps him.

Haruka:  Don’t get me wrong. Michiru made me come.

Yaten:  And I just happen to be the one who called the ambulance. I had to come.

Everyone else has a knowing smile.

Usagi:  How are you feeling, Seiya-chan?

Seiya:  I’m…um…I’m fine.

Mamoru:  Thanks for saving me, Seiya-kun.

Seiya:  Well, it happens that Odango was beside you.

Seiya doesn’t look them at their faces and everyone senses there’s something wrong.

Chiyoko:  Would you guys go out for a minute? I’d like to have a word with Seiya.

[Title Screen]

Now only Seiya and Chiyoko are left in the room.

Chiyoko (angrily and seriously):  Seiya, would you stop those suicidal acts?

Seiya:  It wasn’t suicide. I was just saving them.

Chiyoko:  Oh really? Come on. You know it better than me. You could avoid the attack and save them at the same time. Please don’t treat me as an idiot. I’m not.

Seiya:  So what? I admit it. I just thought I should step aside and let them to live happily ever after. They still have the memories with “their daughter”. And you…

Chiyoko (rises her eyeballs):  Seiya! I told you. Usagi loves Mamoru-chan in an asexual way, just like I love you.

Seiya:  Do you think Odango would tell you that she loves Mamoru-san still?

Chiyoko (rising her eyebrows):  So what are you saying? She lied to me?

Seiya (overreacting):  NO! Of course not! I…I…I mean…She won’t lie. She doesn’t know how to lie. She…(Seiya calms down). I’m sorry. I have been silly. I should know her better. If she were still in love with Mamoru-san, she would tell me.

Chiyoko (pats Seiya’s hand smilingly):  Now, there you go. Seiya, I know you don’t have confidence in yourself, you know, because of the whole boy-girl thing. And of course, a galaxy difference, Mamoru-chan, your mission to protect Princess Kakyuu. All these are the reasons you didn’t tell her you loved her the last time. Am I right?

Seiya (chuckles slightly):  Are you tired being right all the time?

Chiyoko (shrugs):  Well, that’s my gift. But you don’t have to. Your home is where your heart lies. Kakyuu-san left you guys here with a good reason. And Usagi’d never mind that boy-girl thing. She loves you very much. You’re her best friend, boyfriend, soul mate, and maybe, (smiles,) future husband.

Seiya (chuckles):  I hope so. I know I should have more faith in her, and myself too. But everything I think about how meant to be they’re for each other…they’re destined to be with each other…I just…

Chiyoko:  Sometimes meant to be isn’t a good thing.

Seiya (frowns):  What do you mean?

Chiyoko:  Seiya, we can’t really know everything going on in our lives. We can’t truly know what’s our destiny. Then how can you say you and Usagi aren’t meant to be? When it comes to karma, we can’t just look at the past life. We have to look at five lives: past-past, past, this, future, and future-future lives. Probably you and Usagi were lovers before the lives of Endymion and Serenity. Who knows? I don’t know actually the reveal of their memories is a bad thing or not. But it seems to me that they didn’t have all those real boyfriend-girlfriend things in their relationship all because of that. Coin has two sides. It’s you who are going to look at the right side and maybe pick the right one.

Seiya:  Yeah, you’re right. I should be more mature, and have more faith in our relationship. After all, we’ve come this far.

Chiyoko:  Yeah, you should. Seiya, do you know the reason Usagi and I became sisters, and tell each other everything? It’s because we know each other the best. Usagi is a strong person, and she has trust and confidence in everything and everyone, except herself. She always needs someone to encourage her and be with her. The reason she could have been through the battles is that she had her loved ones with her. She needs you to trust her, encourage her, and be with her all the time. Mamoru-chan made the mistake by leaving her alone, more than once. You shouldn’t make the same mistake. He didn’t know her and didn’t love her enough to sacrifice his dream for her. I know you already did. You considered her above your mission. She really cherishes that. You should keep it up. Let her can count on you when she needs you the most.

Seiya:  Thank you. I will. By the way, you know all the bad things about Mamoru-san. How come you still be with him?

Chiyoko (chuckles):  Those are not bad things. And that’s the old Mamoru-chan. Like Usagi said, they thought they were in love instead of they felt they were in love. That’s definitely unnatural. Of course, I’m not saying that’s bad and that’s not going to work out. But I’m sure natural love would be touching more deeply into your heart.

Seiya:  Chiyoko, I don’t understand. How can you still be so calm and sensible while you’re…you know…

Chiyoko (smiling):  Well, I’m not even sure about it yet. But the truth is: I have so many friends around me, better than those who have no one to visit, even once in a while. What should I ask for more? Mamoru-chan, Usagi, and you are the three people I love most, evenly. I have my dearest friends and loved ones with me, no matter what happens, better than those who die alone at old age. What should I ask for more? No matter how I feel, what’s going to happen will come. So instead of facing it in sadness, why don’t I face it with happiness?

Seiya (looking at her amazingly):  Woo! You ARE good!

Chiyoko (chuckles):  Thanks. In fact, I made up my mind to tell them the truth. After all, if I’m going to face it, I’m going to face it with my friends.

Seiya (nods seriously):  Good for you.

Chiyoko:  Oh, before I let them in, there’s something I need to tell you too. I’d like to tell you what I think of why Mamoru-chan and Usagi didn’t work out so you’re not going to make the same mistake. Mamoru-chan’s fault was not considering Usagi’s feelings and not discussing every issue in his life with her. At their level of relationship, he should respect Usagi and discuss with her honestly about whatever is going to affect THEIR lives. They share their lives at that time. He needed to discuss with Usagi whether he’s going to America or not. But not just throwing out the news. At that moment, the alarm was on. Usagi’s fault was not being honest with her feelings. She didn’t ask Mamoru-chan to stay when she wanted. They had a deep level of relationship but she still couldn’t be honest enough to tell him how she truly felt. She thought she could handle it but she actually couldn’t. Then directly, without any thoughts, she felt for you, who was with her all the way during the hard time, every step of the way. So I’d suggest you to be completely honest with her, so she can trust you completely. Then your relationship will be much better. You understand?

Seiya nods and hugs Chiyoko.

Seiya:  I’m honored to have you as my sister. I’d like you to know that no matter what’s the result going to be, I’ll be with you. And I’m sure the others will too.

Chiyoko:  I know. Thank you very much. And I’m honored to be your sister as well, someone who knows about the true meaning of love. Well, I’ll go get the guys in.

Chiyoko opens the door and Usagi stands up immediately.

Chiyoko (seriously):  Guys, we need to talk. Come on in.

They all get in. Seiya and Chiyoko exchange a glance.

Usagi:  Chiyoko, why are you two acting so strangely lately? Seiya-chan, I love you. You know that. The thing you heard…

Mamoru (holding Chiyoko):  Seiya-kun, I’d like you to know that no matter what happens, I won’t give Chiyoko up.

Seiya (smiling):  I know. I understand now. Our little problem is solved. But…

Seiya looks at Chiyoko and stops. Everyone feels very nervous, especially Mamoru.

Mamoru (nervously):  What is it, Chiyoko?

Chiyoko (hesitating):  Mamoru-chan, I…well…

Usagi and Mamoru (together very nervously):  Chiyoko?

Chiyoko takes a deep breath and exhales.

Chiyoko (seriously):  Usagi, remember the day we went to see the doctor. He asked me to take an extra blood test and sent me to see a specialist?

Usagi:  Yeah, what about it?

Mamoru:  Chiyoko, are you saying…?

Chiyoko (nods):  First, the doctor wanted the extra blood test because he was concerned about something he fell in my neck, some swelling.

The others are shocked, except Mamoru, who sensed what it is since he’s a pre-med, and Seiya, who was told. Chiyoko continues.

Chiyoko:  So then he sent me to this endocrinologist and she said she felt a lump.

Usagi:  What kind of a lump?

Chiyoko:  A lump on my thyroid gland. She said they’re usually benign.

Usagi:  Oh god!

Chiyoko:  Usagi, benign is the good one.

Usagi:  Oh good!

Chiyoko:  But there’s a chance, a very slight chance, that it could be malignant.

Everyone is so shocked that no one can say a word.

Chiyoko:  Don’t worry. She said it’s usually very treatable. And it also could be something they call hypothyroidism.

Usagi:  Hypo what?

Chiyoko:  It’s an underactive thyroid that I’d have to take a pill everyday for the rest of my life. Other than that, I’d be totally normal.

Usagi:  So it’s either a lump or a hypo-thigh-master?

Everyone has sweatdrops.

Mamoru:  Usagi-san, it’s hypothyroidism.

Chiyoko:  Yeah, and there’s a third possibility that it’s just a simple goiter.

Usagi:  A goiter?

Mamoru:  That’s nothing.

Usagi:  So we want a goiter?

Mamoru:  Yes, we want a goiter. Goiter is just a swelling but it means her thyroid is functioning normally.

Usagi:  Chiyoko, why didn’t you tell me? We went to the doctor together, didn’t we?

Chiyoko:  I didn’t want any of you to worry until I got the result back. But Seiya suggested that I should tell you guys and let you guys to support me.

Mamoru:  When is the result going to be back?

Chiyoko:  The doctor said that she’s going to call me this Thursday.

Haruka:  And we’ll be with you every step of the way.

The others all nod in agreement.

Chiyoko (touched):  Thank you guys.

Meanwhile, Nicole has changed dandelion and huckleberry into two girls.

Nicole:  Go get what I want or die. Is that clear?

Dandelion and Huckleberry (bowing and shaking):  Yes, your highness.

[CM Break]

Haruka’s car drives into the packing lot of Chiyoko’s house. Usagi jumps out of it first and quickly moves to the other side of the car to help Seiya. Then Haruka and Michiru get off the car too. They then walk towards the door. Seiya needs to walk with two sticks under his shoulders.

Seiya:  I’m surprised that no reporters are around.

Haruka:  You’re not as famous as you think you are, Seiya-kun.

Usagi:  Don’t listen to him. Taiki-kun and Yaten-kun asked your agent to seal all information so you can have time to rest.

They reach the door. Chiyoko opens it form inside. Mamoru is beside her.

Chiyoko (smiling):  Actually, Usagi asked them to do so.

Usagi:  Chiyoko? Why aren’t you resting?

They all walk to the living room. Four inners and Graces are there.

Chiyoko:  I don’t need to rest. We didn’t go with you guys just because we needed to wait for the call. The one who needs to rest is Seiya. I don’t understand why you insisted to get out the hospital today?

Seiya:  Doctor said I didn’t have to stay. So instead of boring myself in the hospital, I’d prefer to keep my promise to stay with my little sister.

Chiyoko (hugs him smilingly):  Thanks.

Seiya:  So…did the doc call?

Mamoru:  The doc hasn’t called yet. We’re still waiting.

They sit down in the living room. All of then have long faces, except Chiyoko.

Chiyoko (amusingly):  Hey, come on guys! I’m the one having problems here. I’m not upset. Why should you be?

The phone rings. Everyone jounces a little bit. Chiyoko’s hand is shaking when she’s reaching for the phone beside her. Mamoru takes the phone for her. Chiyoko takes a deep breath and puts the phone on his ear. Everyone looks at her seriously.

Chiyoko (shaking voice):  Hello? Yes, I’m Niiyama Chiyoko. Oh. Ok. I will. Oh, may I know the result first? Oh, ok. Then may I take my family and friends with me? Ok, thank you.

Chiyoko hangs up.

Mamoru:  What is it, Chiyoko?

Chiyoko:  It was not the doctor. It was her assistant. He said the doctor would like to see me in person and talk about my case. (Starts to have tears.) Mamoru-chan, I’m afraid. If there were nothing wrong, why would he want to see me in person?

It seems Chiyoko’s not so calm after all. But, she’s just 17 years old. She’s being very strong already. Mamoru holds her really tight. He has tears too but he controls himself. Chiyoko’s crying in his chest. Usagi’s crying in Seiya’s. The others are all worried.

Yuko:  Your high…I mean Chiyoko-chan. You’re not sure what it is yet. You maybe ok. When are you going to see the doctor?

Chiyoko (calming down and wiping tears away):  The assistant would prefer me to see her immediately. Are you guys coming with me?

All together (all stand up except Seiya):  Sure!

Usagi:  Not you, Seiya-chan! You’re not coming with us.

Seiya (trying to get up):  Come on Odango. There’s no way I’m going to stay here.

Usagi sighs and helps Seiya to get up. They all get into the cars and go to the hospital. Later in the hospital, the Dandelion and Huckleberry are getting Crystals from the patients and paramedics.

Dandelion:  I don’t know about the others. But it’s difficult for us to find the right Crystals. Don’t you think?

Huckleberry:  No comments. Let’s go to another floor. We still have few to go. Come on.

Many voices:  NO YOU DON’T!!!

At the same time, something is thrown to Dandelion and Huckleberry. They jump away to escape from the “attack”. Then Moon, Protector, Tuxedo Kamen, four inners, Uranus, Neptune, and Graces show up. (Starlights can’t show up since Taiki and Yaten were not going to the hospital with them and Seiya has a hurt leg.)

Ami:  People are sick around here…

Rei:  They came here to have a rest…

Jupiter:  To have a therapy…

Venus:  And maybe to have an orthopedic operation.

All have sweatdrops.

Venus:  What?

Moon:  Ignore her. In a word, for love and hope, the sailor-suited pretty soldiers Sailor Cosmos Moon!

Protector:  Sailor Cosmos Protector!

All together:  In the name of the universe, we'll punish you!

Dandelion and Huckleberry:  A bunch of fools!

The Dandelion and Huckleberry release ribbons to the sailors. The sailors jump away to avoid the attacks.

Mercury:  Mercury Aqua Rhapsody!

Mars:  Mars Flame Sniper!

Jupiter:  Jupiter Oak Evolution!

Venus:  Venus Love and Beauty Shock!

Uranus:  World Shaking!

Neptune:  Deep Submerge!

Aglaia:  Glorious Lighting!

Euphrosyne:  Cheering Capriccio!

Thalia:  Blooming Flowers!

Dandelion and Huckleberry kept escaping from the attacks. But finally, they are hit.

Moon:  Protector, here’s our turn!

Protector:  Right! Hope Crystal Divine Light!

Moon:  Hope Crystal Eternal Light!

Dandelion and Huckleberry are destroyed.

Moon (smiling to Protector):  Now, we can focus on seeing the doc for result.

Seiya is jumping to them with his good leg and only one stick.

Seiya (sweating):  Well, before you go, maybe you should consider giving me back my stick, huh?

So, the object, which was thrown to Dandelion and Huckleberry, was one of Seiya’s sticks! All girls and Mamoru have sweat-drops immediately. Moon picks up the stick and runs to Seiya quickly.

Moon (tensely):  I am so sorry, Seiya-chan. Are you okay?

Seiya:  I’m okay. But please don’t do that again.

Moon (kisses his cheek):  Don’t worry. I won’t let you get hurt again.

Seiya is a little bit blushed. Moon giggles at him. Everyone else smiles.

Kamen (seriously):  Should we detransform and go to the doc?

Everyone’s smiling face fades away. Then they all detransform. Later, Chiyoko goes to see the doctor and Mamoru goes with her. The others wait, and are worrying, outside of the doctor’s office. They are all sitting on the benches outside except Usagi, who is walking back and forward in the aisle.

Seiya:  Odango, would you sit down? I feel dizzy seeing you walking around.

Usagi (stops in front of Seiya):  I’m worried. I’m very worried. I’ll be too nervous if I don’t keep walking around. I hope it turns out ok.

Seiya (holds her hand):  She’s going to be okay. Don’t you worry. (Pulls her down.) Now sit down and calm down.

Just then, the door is opened. Usagi nervously jumps up immediately. Chiyoko and Mamoru walk out and give everyone a comforting smile. Usagi hugs Chiyoko and they cry since they finally ease their tenseness. The others have tears too. Then when finally the two hugging tight girls release each other, they wipe their tears away.

Usagi:  So actually what did they doc say?

Chiyoko:  The doc said my lump is benign, so I just need to have a small operation to get it removed.

Usagi (nervous again):  You need to have operation?

Chiyoko:  Don’t worry. The doc is well experienced and good at this. And she’s sure I won’t have a scar. I’m scheduled to have the operation next week.

Usagi (smiling):  Then I wish you good luck then, Chiyoko!

Chiyoko:  Thank you, Usagi.

Usagi:  Well then, let’s go eat. I’m starving.

Everyone has sweat-drops, but smiles with relief.
