Outline of

THE FINAL UNVEILING
by Lois Hoover

Author's view of apocalyptic scheme

The Revelation of St. John is the most misunderstood of all New Testament writings, and taken the least seriously by the mainstream church; while at the same time, fundamentalist churches have departed from the spiritual meaning of the prophecy. Central thoughts of each chapter are described below:

CHAPTER 1--INTRODUCTION

1 "The Revelation of Jesus Christ which God gave unto him" —The opening phrase does not mean that Christ is revealed but that He is the Revealer. HE IS REVEALING GOD (by God we mean the Triune God ~ Revelation is trinitarian throughout—which author has pointed out in her book). (Jesus said, "My teaching is not mine, but His who sent me." John 8:28.) "to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass." — This shows that the Revelation is a prophecy. "and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John." — John is the agent through which these things are revealed, and they will be signified (that is, made known by signs) by angels. Angels serve as mediums of the revelation.

7 "Behold, he cometh with clouds"— "coming with the clouds" was a common symbol of approaching judgment for the apocalyptic writers. Clouds are used in Scripture to obscure a higher truth, just as literally clouds obscure the sun. The son of man "coming in the clouds of heaven" are not clouds in the literal sense. Christ's second coming is "by the power of the Lord's might through His Word" — which means all the signs as revealed in the Word. Many religions teach that Christ will be seen visibly in the clouds, but the Revelation teaches that he will be seen visibly in the Word. Jesus appears in the Word as the Word. (Rev. 19:13.)

10 "I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day" — "In the Spirit" means entranced in the power and influence of the Holy Spirit.

19 "Write the things which thou hast seen" — This is the key to the whole book. John is commissioned to write of his vision. By the same token, Lois Hoover was told to write of her revelation and visions.

What the Introduction teaches in this Revelation is that the return of Jesus Christ is not a literal, physical return, but a transcendent experience. The Rapture event is not a mass lift-off of believers into the sky, as fundamentalist churches teach, but is an individual event that believers experience on their deathbed.

The first thing that must be recognized in John's Revelation is that it is a veiled prophecy, a mystery, written in a language that must be deciphered and decoded. Lois Hoover, in her book, "The Final Unveiling," through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, does just that. The book is the final unveiling of the entire Scriptures. Even more dramatic is the evidence seen in worldwide events. Still more dramatic is that the Revelation unfolded exactly as presented in the book.

CHAPTER 2 & 3--THE LETTERS TO THE SEVEN CHURCHES

In all these letters there is the background of the old prophetic doctrine of the "remnant," represented in each church by those who "conquer" (overcome). The writer of Revelation apparently has no hope that all the people, even within a given church, will turn from evil to the true way of God, but he does expect that through the grace and power of the Christ in their midst there will always be a remnant. But he cautions even this remnant that they will not be saved unless they bestir themselves. "He who has an ear..." recurs in all the letters and reminds us of Jesus' own repeated warning to those who listened to His parables; for example: Mark 4:9. Using your ears to hear also means using your mind to think, and your eyes to see! This website intends to bring into focus the glorious vision of the consummation that John saw in The Revelation of Jesus Christ!

CHAPTER 4 & 5--THE PRELUDE—SETTING

One of the most attractive points of style in the Book of Revelation is its alternation between scenes in heaven and scenes on earth. In Chapter 4 John sees the throne of God in heaven. In Chapter 5 John sees the throne of a suffering servant, symbolized by a lamb, slain, who is the only one able to take the scroll and open the seven seals, that is, unveil the mysteries of the judgments.

CHAPTER 6--THE FIRST SIX SEALS

Unfolded here are the the four horsemen of the Apocalypse; the martyred souls; a great earthquake, and heaven departs as a scroll. The author points out in her books that the great earthquake mentioned here is introductory to the "beginning of sorrows," and is the Good Friday Earthquake that occurred March 27, 1964, in Alaska.

An interlude occurs before the opening of the seventh seal where God's own are sealed.

CHAPTER 7--THE ELECT

The symbolic 144,000 — those elected individuals who are exclusive of the Final Judgment. They represent the future humanity whose hearts are turned to the Spirit of Christ.

CHAPTER 8 & 9--THE TRUMPET JUDGMENTS

When the seventh seal opens, there is silence in heaven for a brief period; and then the seven angels sound the trumpets of alarm which are released in rapid succession.

First trumpet-blast announces the devastation caused by wars, revolutions, riots, violence and terrorism, symbolized by hail and fire mixed with blood.

Second trumpet-blast announces that a corruptive power, symbolized as "a great mountain burning with fire", is cast into the midst of the nations.

Third trumpet-blast announces the pollution and contamination of the environment, symbolized by the flaming star Wormword which is destroying the whole biosphere.

Fourth trumpet-blast announces the great catastrophes, great calamities, and great wickedness which have overtaken the earth, symbolized by the darkening of the heavens.

Fifth and sixth trumpet-blasts announce the plague of legal and illegal drugs. Each symbol is interpreted in "The Final Unveiling".

As is usual with each cycle of sevens, an interlude occurs between the sounding of the sixth and seventh trumpet to bring in events on another level.

CHAPTER 10--AN OPEN LITTLE BOOK

2 "And he had in his hand a little book open " — Contents of the book are not concealed. Book describes dramatic action that occurs during interlude between 6th and 7th trumpet. When the 7th trumpet begins to sound, 7 "the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets."

CHAPTER 11--THE TWO WITNESSES

For 42 months, two human beings witness and utter judgment messages while the earth is being visited with divine indignation. While the nations rage, the temple of God is opened in heaven.

CHAPTER 12--THE WOMAN CLOTHED WITH THE SUN

2 "And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered." — This mystical woman is key to the unfolding of the whole apocalyptic event and around her revolves the astounding drama of end-time events. The woman is identified as the new Eve, who overcomes the old serpent.

CHAPTER 13--THE BEAST WHOSE NUMBER IS 666

The character and identity of the beast is revealed. As the author states in her book, "The number 666 expresses the inner nature of the one to whom it is applied."

CHAPTER 14--SPECIAL LAST DAY PROPHECIES

1. The lamb on Mount Zion.
2. The redeemed singing a new song.
3. Judgment messages revealed by angels.
4. The fall of symbolical Babylon prophesied.
5. The gathering of the harvest at the consummation of ages.

CHAPTER 15--VIAL JUDGMENTS INTRODUCED

5 The temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven is opened. Nobody was able to enter into the temple till the seven last plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

CHAPTER 16--THE SEVEN VIAL JUDGMENTS

1-First vial vision represents — Disease Judgment. Global diseases are at uncontrollable heights. (Bear in mind that the author predicted worldwide disease epidemics, including AIDS, in 1981-82, in her Bible class. The book, "The Final Unveiling," was based on her teachings at that time. The manuscript was written and copyrighted in 1982, published in 1984, and remains valid to this day.)

2-Second vial vision represents — Blood Judgment. 3 "Every living soul dies in the sea of blood " — means that every living soul is entrapped spiritually in a sea of blood. "For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the earth."— Refer to Luke 21:34-36.

3-Third vial vision represents — Second Blood Judgment. During this judgment, water turns to blood spiritually; thus there is no fresh water to drink. Since humans cannot live physically without water, the theological motif is that grace is removed during the judgment era.

4-Fourth vial vision represents — Solar Judgment. The sun provides life-sustaining nourishment, light, warmth, and comfort. But in this judgment, the blessed gifts of the sun are taken away because men 9 "blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues, and they repented not to give him glory." Rev. 16:9. The theological motif is that the wondrous blessing of prosperity is removed.

5-Fifth vial vision represents the overturning of the beast. The beast shall prosper until "the indignation be accomplished." (See Dan. 11:36.)

6-Sixth vial vision represents the final struggle that occurs in the vicinity of "the great river Euphrates," which is modern-day Iraq. This vision is a parallelism to the Garden of Eden and the age-old struggle of good versus evil. This vision powerfully reveals that First Things parallel Last Things, as author reiterates over and over in her book. The battle of Armegeddon occurs during this time. 16 "And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon — that is, the "Mountain of the Threshold"." — Figuratively, this is the last great struggle between the powers of good and the forces of evil. The motif of the second coming is also pictured here: 15 "Behold, I come as a thief."

7-Seventh vial vision is the final interlude in these cycles and represents the manifestation of God's divine plan of redemption from the first sin in the Garden of Eden to the Final Judgment. 17 "A great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, says, "It is done."

The results of this seventh and last judgment are immediately manifest: 18 "There were voices, and thunders, and lightnings, and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were on the earth; so mighty an earthquake and so great. 19 "And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath."

"We now see the accomplishment of God's sure word of prophecy." (Quoted from pg. 159, "The Final Unveiling.")

During this interim between the sixth and seventh vial cycle, the message is that the deadline for emendation of life (repentance and change) is short and looms ominously ahead ~~ during this year of finality. And who shall stand?
