Swami Vidyadhishananda was awarded, in January 2006, the prestigious degree of "Great Ordained Teacher", a rare honor given to a few outstanding individuals, most of whom receive it in their later years after a lifetime of service to Sanskritic and philosophical heritage. This degree is one of the highest accolades conferred in India through the University System. Receiving "Great Ordained Teacher" degree at this juncture in Swami Vidyadhishananda's life makes him one of the youngest achievers to receive the award. Swami Vidyadhishananda is a Himalayan monk of the Vedanta tradition who belongs to the spiritual lineage of the KriyaYoga Masters including Paramahamsa Swami Hariharananda and Paramahamsa Swami Yogananda, the author of Autobiography of a Yogi. |
