Welcome to my website:
This homepage outlines the identity and background as well as the future plans of Sem Karoba, traditional singer from New Guinea, in order to first of all help myself to know myself and help others to understand the meaning of my life in this world.

As a musician, I have would like to encourage others to join me in my journey in this world, to celebrate, to celebrate, to entertain, and to educate the world of the roles of the spirits in the lives of many musicians and artists in general in the world.

Since 1970s, there were some developments within the Papuan culture, a resurrection of the peoples' culture, led by the well known ethno-anthropologist, Arnold C. Ap. But after his mysterious assassination in April 1984, the cultural and traditional movement for revival of traditional music and dance slowed down, and even it can be said died.

Since the death of this leading ethno-anthropology figure from Melanesia, the whole Melanesia spearhead suffered severely.
However, the late 1990s and early this century, there is some kinds of revival, not drastically as before, but slowly and surely growing.
This website in particular presents the face of that growth. And I hope it will help us understand the condition of music and songs from New Guinea.
