| Well, I'm convinced that there's a conspiracy out there with the number 47. I don't know why and don't know how but it's there. I'm thinking it has something to do with my death, like I'll die when I'm 47 or in 2047 or I might be hit by a 1947 Ford. <shrug> I see it almost every day. Here are some examples of where and how it happens. |
| Star Trek Generations (Scotty at the beginning of the movie when he transports people off the ship before it explodes) "Transport complete. I got 47... out of 150." |
| Back to the Future (At the end of the movie, Marty asks how far Doc is going into the future, and Marty says) "Look me up when you get there. I guess I'll be about... 47." |

| Other than movies, it also occurs in everyday life. 1. 47 is my girlfriend's dad's favorite number. 2. My dad was born in 1947. 3. There's a company van parked not too far from my apartment. It's ID number is 47. 4. I don't have quotes for it but I heard the number 47 being used in 2 episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation and 1 episode of Spongebob Squarepants (something about inspector 47). 5. When buying a vanilla shake at McDonalds, I was short a couple cents. I pulled the change out of my pocket and had 47 cents. 6. My cousin watches sports most of the day when he's not working. I just realized the other day that the channel he watches is channel, you guessed it, 47. 7. This afternoon (10/25) I went to lunch at Two Choppers, a deli-like shop, and they give you these plastic number tags so waiters know who to give the meals to, and I got tag number 47. 8. I had a little collection of pennies in a compartment in my car. One day I decided to count them and yes, I had 47. :-) 9. This completely slipped my mind! The whole Roswell alien spaceship landing conspiracy happened in 1947! 10. My art teacher and I went to a 1-hour photo place and the first picture I saw when I went inside was a kid in a football jersey with the number 47! Honest! :-) 11. I heard the number used in Ren and Stimpy once when Ren gets mad at Stimpy for doing something stupid, as usual. "You gave away 47 million dollars!?!?" |
