Reflection | ||||||||||
We all really enjoyed doing this project. Even though at times it was very stressful, being organized was essential in the success of our presentations. Despite a very large number of students in one of the classes, we still felt like we left knowing each student individually. Because we were working with eighth graders and it was at the end of the day, it was sometimes difficult to hold the attention of close to thirty students. We used hands on projects to keep the students interested and involved. We felt that if we had just presented facts, that it really wouldln't have have as big of an impact on them. Due to all the research that went into this project, we came out learning as much, if not more than the kids did. We found the that statisics about poverty were shocking, such as 1 billion out of the 2.2 billion children in the world are in povery. The advice we would give to the 2005-2006 senior class starting their exit projects would be to pick a topic that means something to you. If you are having fun learning about it, it will show in the way you present. It makes the project more fun and interesting and MUCH less stressful. |
