CFHL POWER RANKING
Here it is, guys. Our first weekly CFHL Power Ranking. I hope everyone likes
it, if not, well, write your own!
A couple of explanations: for this first one, the number just right of the actual
ranking is their standings position.
For the next ones, they will be the previous ranking. Any ideas to improve the
looks or the comments, please

Past Power Rankings: Jan. 29th
2003 Power Rankings: Jan. 29th
Rk | Team | Rec. | Comment | |
![]() |
Phoenix | Who can stop them? Roy is having a MVP season and now with Pronger, the task is even harder.
![]() |
Tampa Bay | Young and talented. If they are like wine, the older the better, watch out!! They will dominate this league for years to come.
![]() |
Detroit | The Red Wings are
destroying opposing goalies lately. Result? A 5.5 goal scoring average in
their 6 game winning streak and 8-1-1 in their last 10. |
||
![]() |
Calgary | The benefits of superstar depth? Jagr and Modano slowed down a bit, but the Flames should thank Kariya and Roenick for keeping them competitive.
![]() |
Montreal | Iginla and Palffy have combined for 62 goals. The entire Dallas team have scored 80.
![]() |
Colorado | Surprise, surprise! Mario didn't miss a game yet. Oh, and Kolzig has started all 40 games for the 2nd best defense in the league.
![]() |
NY Rangers | In Ohlund, the Rangers improved their D for the playoffs and Poti gets a much needed help in the PP.
![]() |
St. Louis | Forsberg is playing his A game since coming to the Blues after a trade with the Pens.
![]() |
New Jersey | Is there any doubt that Rob Blake is the best defenseman this season?
![]() |
San Jose | No trades yet for the Sharks after training camp? GM Mike Davis must really like his team.
![]() |
Pittsburgh | Now that Luongo is getting tired, the Pens hope that Yashin continues his hot scoring streak (currently at 10).
![]() |
Boston | They have lost a league leading 4 games in OT. GM Don Skarsen must be ansiously waiting for the OTL point system.
![]() |
Washington | A 5 game losing streak isn't what we expected from this team.
![]() |
Philadelphia | Will they still make the playoffs now that they have traded leading scorer Shane Doan away? Philly will go only as far as Potvin takes them.
![]() |
Chicago | What a crowded D they've got!! Why do you need so many?
![]() |
Vancouver | Rumors have it that the twins' days in B.C. might be over. Will there be any takers?
![]() |
Toronto | Heatley seems like a lock for the Calder Trophy this season.
![]() |
Florida | How does a 9 million player should play like? Certainly not like Donald Audette.
![]() |
Nashville | Lord Byron leads the league in star points. With a little help, he would lead them to the playoffs. Let's hope Recchi is that help.
![]() |
Ottawa | We wonder if the Senators provide Messier, Ledyard and Gilmour some oxygen tanks between periods.
![]() |
Anaheim | Giguere isn't getting much help from his teammates.
![]() |
Los Angeles | Briere is having a good time after being traded to the Kings.
![]() |
NY Isles | Gomez and Nash will have to wait a couple more seasons until they have a good defense to help them. Komisarek, Whitney and Pitkanen are 3 of the best defensive prospects out there.
![]() |
Atlanta | They have the most expensive player in the CFHL. We don't see him making that large of an impact.
![]() |
Columbus | Only the Sens have more penalty minutes than Columbus. New GM Graham Young must improve their PK unit, which will translate in better chances in winning.
![]() |
Edmonton | Slowly improving. But they still need a starting goalie.
![]() |
Carolina | Will Frolov and Blackburn be able to turn the fate of this franchise? We know Bradley won't.
![]() |
Dallas | Sugestion: Maybe it is time to unload the veterans and start rebuilding?
![]() |
Minnesota | When Wes Walz is your best scorer and the only player with double digits in goals scored, you know you are in deep trouble.
![]() |
Buffalo | We can't see a light in the end of the tunnel. Maybe someone does. Most important of all, is that someone their GM?? |
