Ah, Wing! One of my two favorite anime of all time. I admit, part of the appeal is the futuristic tehcnology and all the bishounen (Go, Milli!). There's more to it, though. If you stop and concentrate on what you're hearing or seeing, there are several important philosphical ideals that are worth thinking about, and the historical allusions to the Revolutionary War. These are the gems that make this series truly great. Not the story, not the characterization, but the philosophy that leaves you thinking: What is a true enemy? What is the point of a soldier during a time of peace? Can peace be obtained through violence? What is true peace?.....
