A circus family was caught in a bombing raid. The parents were killed, and the children, Catherine and Trition Bloom were spereated. Cathrine was recovered by the circus, but the male child had disappeared. In his wanderings, the boy, who didn't know his name was picked up by a mercenary troop, who taught him mechanics and piloting. Later, the boy known as "no-name", or Nanashi, rescued a young girl named Middie Une (not the woman later known as Lady Une), who carried a transmitter. The aliance followed the girl. Some of Trowa's comrades sold out the other mercenaries and attacked the company. Nanashi killed them to save the captain. During the dinner line that evening, Nanashi drew the connection between the attacks and the hand-held game Middie carried. The alliance attacked again, and once more Trowa saved the girl. The captain of the mercenaries, who had taken Nanashi in, was killed during the attack. Nanashi confronted Middie, who admitted her part. He also identified the crucifix she had given him as a transmitter. Middie couldn't admit that she had fallen in love with him, and prepared to die. When she opened her eyes after the gunshots, she was unharmed and the transmitters lay destroyed on the ground. She called after him, but Trowa denied that he was No-name and left. He went to space, believing that the colonies had to be better than Earth, and wound up at the Barton Foundation as a mechanic. Trowa Barton took a liking to Nanashi and during their conversations showed him a picture of the young girl Mariemaia. Trowa was killed by Doctor S's assistant when he learned about the original operation, and Nanashi stepped in to become "Trowa Barton", the pilot of Heavyarms. Name origin: Trowa- derivitive of "three" |
