Chain Bars

If you spend much time in Seoul, you'll notice that the same bars keep appearing in different neighborhoods. While none of these would be considered outstanding in my opinion, since you can't really avoid them, I thought they would be worth listing. You'll find most of these bars scattered around Seoul, especially in the Gangnam area (south of the river).

The Flair

They specialize in nightly "cocktail shows" (juggling, etc.), extremely friendly waitstaff, and overpriced beer. The first time you go, you'll think "WOW! That was so much fun." Trust me, it wears off after a while. But if you're looking for a bit of excitement from your drinking establishment, be sure to seek one out.

WA Bar

These bars arguably have the biggest beer selection of any Seoul bars. The wooden interior makes for a comfortable setting, but if you're looking to explore beers from far-away lands or are in search of a specific beer that reminds of you of your previous travels, then look for one of these locations.

Jjokki Jjokki

There's nothing particularly interesting about these bars, but I just like saying the name. They do have a variety of weird fruit beers but the draft beer is cheap and you don't necessarily need to order food if you get a pitcher.

Beer Plus

Standard issue Korean hof. Draft beer is cheap, but you usually need to order food if you get a pitcher. The food is never all that great, but you're not here for the food, are you?

Miller Time

Is it really Miller beer? That's what they say. And that's the only difference between this chain and any of the other countless Korean hofs.
