Dive beneath the waves and be greeted by a fanciful mermaid offering a pot of opalecent treasures. This heavy, very sturdy, table is a wonderfully detailed creation of the briny deep. The top of the table has painted scalloped edges, multi blues & greens, and embelished with real rocks, seaglass, coral, seaweed, sponges, shells, seahorses, starfish, all entwined in a fishnet surrounded by layers of white sand gathered from the Florida shore of the Gulf of Mexico. There is a real starfish in the top left corner and sparkling bubbles rising from two pointed spiral shells. The mermaid is wearing a string of painted on pearls with a real, very tiny, seashell in the center. Her pot is gold, and overflowing from it, her Offering of very finely crushed opalecent shells that sparkle - creating a bright underwater glow. The fishnet was purchased in Key West, and is not only used on the tabletop but also wrapped around the top of each of the four legs, and the bottoms are accented with gold painted starfish, sea weed, seahorses, and whimsical designs. All of the items used on this table (with the exception of the seahorse & starfish) have been gifts from the sea, taken with permission of our Ocean Mother, that myself and a very dear friend have collected over a period of time from the Florida Atlantic Shore.
