Name: Jakys Wylde

Called: Jak, pretty much all the time now.

Status: A well off commoner.

Age/date of birth: 22, born April 6th (our calendar of course)

Place of birth: Port Caynn

Magic: He’s rodent-hearted. But only barely. His rodentheartedness promotes a fondness and a connection for rodents and rats. He can hold them and they're calm. Rats and mice in his care seem almost as if they're trained instead of wild creatures. Beyond that, he isn't strong enough to sense how they feel or communicate with them in any way and he isn't strong enough for it to be a big part of his life that he couldn't live without.

Occupation:

Jak is first and foremost a member of the rogue. He had a deep seaded loyalty to Farnu Maderas, which has now transferred to Lashana, the current queen of the Rogue. He once tended to move careers a fair bit but, recently he's settled into one career. He has, for a good portion of his life, been a pick pocket and he still is occasionally. His relationship with Liora and contacts gained through it saw his skills expand to a catburglar. This is the career that he's settled into, becoming a catburglar for the rogue.

He also has skills as a carpenter and toy maker, but it's not often that he puts this to use as a job to earn him money. It's now more of a calming hobby for him that he uses to occasionally make people personal, sentimental gifts.

Where he lives: He has his own little place in the farming section of corus. It's situated on an acre of property. It took him and a group of friends (Merric, Shawn and Luke) nearly a year to complete it. It was a project that he felt that he needed to do, to help him deal with loosing Liora and his children. Now that he has his children back it's the ideal home and the ideal place to raise a family.

Family:

Sara Deirn - Sara's his significant other. It happened really quickly, and really unexpectedly. But, in true Jak style he's totally fallen for her. She won't take any of his brattyness and she's pulling him from the rut that he fell in after his relationship with Liora failed. Being in a relationship again is something that he's slowly getting used to. She challenges him, and it's fantastic. She's very very good for him.

Liora Galaria – The women that he has now come to view with a kind of emotional detachment. Which, is not surprising seeing as she hurt him badly. He loved her, but she asked him to make a choice between his friends, the Rogue and her. A choice that he couldn't make. They argued and split up, the stress of which, sent her into early labor. She gave him healthy twin girls. But when they were three days old, she took them away from him by entering the temple of the goddess, in spite for breaking up with her. They were delivered to his door about six months ago after he's raised them ever since.

Emilia and Aimee Wylde-Galaria - Jak's two beautiful identical two daughters. They're around 18 months old and they pretty much are his life. He lost them once, he takes great pains to make sure that he doesn't loose them again. He's incredibly protective of them.

Nathaniel Wylde – (Nat) Jak’s little brother, who is nine years old going on ninety. Nat is a little bit of a trouble maker who often needs a firm hand to control him. He needs discpline, but he doesn't get it from Jak very often. Jak tends to spoil him, he gets what he wants and he can do what he likes, pretty much. Only because Jak isn't trying to be a father to him, but rather the brother that he's supposed to be.

Friends:

Menina Maderas – A very close friend of Jak's. They kind of fell into a friendship, she honestly saved his hide more than a few times. He once told her that he loves her, and he still does. Their friendship has only gotten stronger despite Nina being engaged and pregnant. It's adorable, but tragic and a little sad. It's developed into something deeper than friendship. She's engaged, she's pregnant and she's happy, so he's happy for her. He'd rather be a friend than risk loosing her. But, he's presently a little sad for himself.

Kaelin Tai’Venn - Another fairly close friend of Jak's. Kae and Jak had a run in one day and they sort of formed a friendship. Or at least Jak regarded Kae to be a close friend. When Renee died and Kae disappeared with rumours that he had killed himself it hit Jak hard but he dealt with it. He has no idea that Kae is back in town.

Zora Lorian - Zora and Jak once dated. They had a close relationship, though it was heavily based on sexual attraction. Now they're good friends who occasionally hook up. They have a habit of coming back to one another, it is really odd, but they seem to end up in the same place that they began. It's actually kinda complicated. They both have their own reasons, and those reasons are no one else's business.

Lashana An Chiara - Shana's one of Jak's rare friends. He respects her greatly. And, as queen of the Rogue, she has his unquestionable loyalty. She's more than earned it. Some fear her, but Jak's friendship and allegience comes out of great respect for her and for who she is as a person. They both love the snark and they seem to have a fair bit in common.

Appearance:

Hair: Jak's hair was once tidy and well kept, but as he's aged, he's grown a little scruffier. His hair's a little longer now, but not disagreeable in any way. It isn't long enough to get in his eyes or become annoying. Night black in colour, thick and soft. It's great hair to run fingers through. He loves to have clean hair, so it's always clean, and generally brushed back from his forehead.

Eyes: Intense, dark brown eyes. Often mistaken for black in low light. Not overly large, but deep set and framed in short, thick eye lashes. He rarely shows emotion on his face, though it's something he's getting better at. So, his eyes are the window to his emotions and often, his thoughts. They can become very warm and loving, or very cold and angry depending on who he's interacting with. The people who know him well know to look to his eyes to gage what he's feeling and what he's thinking.

Face: He's actually quite handsome. A long oval shaped face that narrows somewhat at the chin making his jawline appear to be large, but soft. A rounded forehead with slightly arched eyebrows of medium thickness. High cheek bones, but in that soft way instead of bone definition. A long nose, with a small lump about three quarters of the way down from being broken many times, though it's surprisingly straight. A thinner upper lip, his bottom lip fuller. He's always kept a layer of bum fluff on his chin and his moustache. Now it's longer and thicker. Though, it's certainly not a Ned Kelly style beard of anything. The same colour black as his hair.

Height: He stands at roughly 6 foot, give or take an inch.

Body: Jak is tall and a little lanky. He's fit looking, certainly not thin, but he once was and it's evident in his build. He has 18 month old daughters and a nine year old brother to raise, he doesn't spend any time sitting around doing nothing. He's constantly on the move, burning energy and fat. Also, food was once hard to come by for Jak and his family, it plays a factor in his build and lack of muscle definition. Wide shouldered, with long arms that end in rather large, slender, hands and fingers. He's quite strong in the arms and shoulders, even though he has little muscle definition. His stomach is flat, though ribs and hips aren't visible. He has a dark snail trail from his belly button down. Jak also has some burn scars from his arm pit to his hip on his right side from the fire that killed his parents. They're certainly not visible under clothing. His legs is where he gets the majority of his height, long and strong, though again, with muscles that aren't particularly defined.

Colouring: Slightly bronzed skin, enough to contrast his skin colour and his hair so that he doesn't look sickly, pale and drawn.

Other: He used to use fighting to solve his problems and as a cure for boredness, so he has quite a few important scars. On his chest is a relatively faded S, from a run in with a man named Simon. It's still visible, but the scar's faded considerably. Also, he has matching scars both in the palms and the tops of his hands and feet from being glued to the Inn floor with daggers, also by Simon. These scars pull a little in cold weather.

Clothing: Shirts, usually short sleeved even in the winter time. He wears mainly breeches of good quality and good repair. His shirts are a variety of colours, usually white, or golden yellow. His breeches are generally black in colour. His clothes are always clean and in good repair, even his oldest clothes.

Personality:

Jak has a long, complicated personality, because I've been playing him for a long time. He's one of my original characters and the one that's seen most change in his life.

He used to be... kinda tragic when he was just a few years younger, especially to his friends. He was a little damaged, a little broken, completely unsure of himself and terrifyingly self-destructive. He mostly came across as arrogant and foolish. Jak was a trouble-maker. Keen on making trouble in order to avoid boredom. More often than not he took it to far, through inability to recognise when to stop. He'd instigate arguements by being snarky and plain mean to people who were stronger and more experienced fighters than himself. He refused to back down and refused to admit defeat. It got him right royally beaten on multiple occassions. Not many people could and would tolerate even being around him and as a result he had very few friends.

He tested people constantly. He was mean, snarky and generally an arsehole to them. If they stood up to him, tolerated him or beat him down, they earned his respect and eventually his friendship. Some of his closest friends were those who made it clear that they'd take none of his shit. Some of his closest friends are those who stood up to him, maybe even beat some sense into him to earn his respect. His moods were all over the place, and when he hurt he drank. When he drank he used to do stupid things, putting himself at risk of injury. He was very much a ladies man. One night stands and bad relationships were something that seemed to happen a lot. To be honest, Jak was miserable with life and within himself.

He's not that person any more. Life forced him to grow up and quickly. Meeting Nina played a huge part in his transition from boy to man. Having her in his life healed many internal wounds and hurts. Meeting Liora and falling into a stable relationship with her forced him to take a deeper look at the person that he wanted to become. A stable relationship forced him to become more stable. Having the twins and then losing both the twins and Liora broke him a little, but through it he grew and changed. Getting the twins back forced him to become more dependant, sober and even more stable.

He's still very intense. He's still a little complicated. He comes across now as confidant instead of arrogant, mainly due to the fact that he is actually more confidant within himself. He's still hard to get along with. He's blunt, straight forward and snarky, especially towards strangers and those he doesn't know well. He's still plain mean to the people that he doesn't like. However, he's less likely to instigate fights and more likely to back down and admit defeat if a fight situation does occur. He has more respect for his body and less of a death wish. He's less likely to react without thinking things through and taking the consequences of his actions into account. He still rarely shows his emotions to strangers, even on his face. However, his friends have no problem reading his thoughts and feelings. Where a stranger sees a blank expression, a friend sees many other things. He still rarely makes connections with people, though when he does, the connection is always an intensly deep one. He still has very few friends, but those are true friendships. He draws good people to him, but he's not the type of person to make friends for numbers sake, to Jak friendship is sacred.

Around his friends he's a completely different person. He has the capacity to be snarky to someone that he doesn't like or doesn't know, and to tease at the same time. It's really quite hard to explain, but I swear it's possible. It depends on who you are. Amongst his friends he's quite a tease, but what they see as teasing, others tend to see as snark. He's more open, conversational and friendly. He shows more emotions around his friends than he does in general day to day interactions. His friends are the people who see him for who he truely is; a good, loving guy.

He places great store by respect and loyalty. His respect is something that is hard to gain and fairly easy to loose. It must be earnt. People have to show him that they deserve his respect. His loyalty is even harder to earn. Respect and loyalty are intertwined. You don't get his loyalty, until you earn his respect. His loyalty is also not something that's unwavering or unbreakable. It can be broken quite easily. And once broken it's almost impossible to regain or repair. He rarely forgives, if at all. Broken loyalty means withdrawn respect and a shattered friendship.

He tends to measure who people are, by their actions. He has quite a different moral compass. One that's more rigid in regards to himself, than to others. He's killed, but only in self-defense and to be honest, he was wracked with guilt afterwards. He's been friends with assassins and he's currently friends with a necromancer. He takes people's hard earned valuables to make money for himself and his family. People's occupations don't mean a lot. You can't gauge the type of person some one is, by what kind of work they do. It's how they interact with others, how they put themselves forward and represent themselves, it's the people they're friends with and how much loyalty and respect they show to others. He watches people closely and he takes note of even the smallest of things.

Jak never approaches something half-heartedly. He completely throws himself into it no matter what it is. He has the habit of immersing himself utterly and completely into things. This includes anything from the Rogue, to friendships, to hobbies and to relationships. There's no middle ground here at all. He's either involved and immersed or not involved at all. Relationships and Jak are complicated to say the least. I don't even know where to begin. Jak doesn't just love, he loves with his entire being. When he falls for someone, he falls hard and completely. It is possible for him to love two people at the same time. However, it works in degrees. There is one person that he loves with his entire being, he loves with his soul and his heart but she's also the person that he can't be with romantically. Their friendship is deep, beautiful and a little sad. It's more than friendship. He can't love any one else to the same degree and to the same intensity, but he can love them entirely. Currently he's single, and really quite secretly lonely for that romantic attachment.

He once had so much energy that he spent most of his time being bored, and therefor fighting to combat the boredom. He still has that energy but now, his family actually eats it up. He's constantly on his feet, he's constantly running around; after children or for children. He's never bored any more. He has very little time to himself. Also, he was once a stickler for personal presentation and neatness, however this has gone by the wayside as he's matured. He's a little scruffier, a little hairier around his face and his clothes while still clean and tidy, are not obsessively so.

Jak's intelligent, but not in the "I'm'a sit down and do some mathematics" way. His intelligence is evident through the snark, and through the advice that he gives his friends. He's street smart and wise in ways that are quite surprising and unexpected. He learns and picks things up quickly and he has a remarkable memory for names, faces and actions. It's also important to note that Jak isn't a good fighter. His skills do not stand up to a trained fighter, though they have improved through Kaelin mentoring him and through his relationship with Liora and friendships with some high profile Rogues (Darryl, Renee, Farnu, Shana). It used to matter, but now, he only gets into the rare fight so it doesn't really come into play. He wants to learn more and to become a better fighter so that he can defend himself, his friends and his family. He's keen to learn, but the opportunity has yet to come up.

History: Jak and Nat’s parents were killed when their small but popular toy shop was burnt to the ground. Both Jak and his brother were almost killed, and both bare burn scars as testimony to that. Jak rescued Nat, but wasn't able to rescue their parents. Their father was an expert whittler and carver, who used to shape children's toys. Their mother used to work in the business as well, keeping paper work, mainting the shop front and so forth.

Jak was seventeen when his parents were killed and the business destroyed. His little brother Nat only three years old. After the fire they had nothing left, only each other, two baby mice that had taken shelter in Jak’s trousers pocket, which they named Sugar and Spice and an eccentric Grand father whom neither of them had met. Their Grand father, a story teller and entertainer, took them in and taught them his trade. He was old and becoming senile so it was up to Jak to provide for them, he taught himself to pick pocket as people gathered in the streets to watch his family perform together. He kept this secret at first from his grandfather, but when he felt that he had honed his skills enough to be confident and successful he came clean.

He took over, what had become the family business and affectionately refers to them as a theatre troupe. He realised that moving around was essential to their success as a ‘business’ because in staying in one place for to long people would begin to question and notice that while watching the troupe perform their possessions went missing out of their own pockets and would suspect the troupe itself. So, for three years the family moved around, travelling by foot from place to place and performing in the streets, while collecting quite a bit of loot. However, they finally settled in Corus and his grandfather was killed, leaving Jak and Nat by themselves.

They managed to survive with the help of their friends, especially Menina, Zora and eventually Liora, who he fell in love with. They brought a house together, moved in together, they fell pregnant, but when she asked him to make a decision between his friends, the Rogue and her, it was a choice that he refused to make. Eventually, after several months of hurting and a struggling relationship, Jak broke up with her, the effects of which, caused Liora to go into premature labor. The twins were born, Jak was there, he held them, he named them, and a few days after their birth, Liora and the twins were gone. She had entered the temple of the great mother goddess. She sold their house and their belongings, including his and sent him the money. It almost broke him, but to help himself deal with it, he brought land with the money and he started, with the help of friends on building a house for himself and his brother, a project that he put all his blood sweat, anger and tears into. When the girls were three months old, he got a letter from the temple leaving them in his care. He has raised them ever since.

Likes: Menina, Shana, being a Rogue, his family, his friends, or those that he trusts enough to let get close to him, being busy, rodents, being in love, sex, having time to himself, food, hard liquor though he rarely drinks it, breakthrough's with his children, tea, cold weather.

Dislikes: Liora, being injured, not being able to get around and having to stay in bed for longer than twelve hours, not landing a punch in a fight, his family being hurt, being lonely, boredom, being woken up by anything out of the ordinary, not being able to fight well, ale, Drake, Kildan, coffee.
