Name: Tamberline Elison Called: Strictly Tamber or Tam. Some call her Tammie, and she'll let them, even though she doesn't like it all that much.
Status: Commoner Age, date and place of birth: 19. Born on the 12th January (modern calendar of course). In a village on the Scanran side of the border. Current Residence: Corus. She's brought herself a small attic apartment on Westberk Street.
Magic: None. She's rather ambivalent towards it.
Fighting skills Her father was a member of the Scanran army, so he taught her a few moves with a dagger. She carries one on her at her ankle for self defense. She has quick reflexes, but she's small, so she's easily over powered. Occupation: Embezzeller. She works as a book keeper for several businesses, large and small. While she's at it, she steals their money, and tampers with their books so that they're none the wiser. Important people:
Parents - Her father, Rikard, is an absconded Scanran captain in the army. He met her mother, Catherine, a Tortallan women, while still in service. When she fell pregnant with their first child the Scanran army refused to release him from duty, so he absconded. They moved close to the border, so it was easy to escape across the border into Tortall, if need be. He now works as a blacksmith, while Catherine works as a tutor. Good parents.
Appearance:
Hair: Thick, sandy-blonde hair, that's wonderfully wavy and reaches down to the middle of her back. She mostly wears it down, because it's simply too hard to tame into a pony tail or place any kind of restrictions on it. Also, it just doesn't suit her face when it's tied up. It's really beautiful.
Eyes: Her eyes are actually a little small, though her extra long eye lashes more than compensate for that. They're a little tear drop shaped, and a grey-blue in colour. In natural light they're more blue than grey, but diffused light has the opposite effect. They're knowing, intelligent eyes.
Face: Youthful and pixie like. She has a long, oval shaped face, that angles down to a sharp chin. High cheek boned, that are not overly prominent, just enough to add a prettiness to her features. She has a small, straight, button nose, which curves out a little towards the end of her nose, though the curve's only visible from a side on view, if you're paying attention. Small light pink colored lips, that are rather stunning. The top lip fuller than the bottom and protruding a tiny bit further. She's pretty.
Height: Little. She's only 152 centimeters or 5 foot.
Body: She's a healthy 49.8 kilos, or 110 pounds, for her height. But compared to others...that's little. Small set shoulders, with visible collarbones. Medium length arms, with delicate wrists and hands. A small bust, which curves inwards towards her stomach, and out again to small hips. Hip bones and ribs visible, but not unhealthily so. Thin legs, that look longer than what they are because of her smallness. It's hard to say that she moves gracefully, but she does move fluidly.
Coloring: She's got that pale Scanran skin, but with the barest hint of a tan. She has the occasional freckle. One on her left cheek, just below the middle of her eye, one behind her right knee and one on her the tip of her right shoulder.
Clothing: Gathered cotton Skirts. In pale colors - light plum, light pinks, smokey pinks, cotton candy pink, light lavender. And, loose flowing shirts with long tapered cuffs, mostly off white in color. On her feet she wears light sandals, with leather straps, during summer, and buckled anklet boots in winter. During the colder months she may wear a vest over her shirt, and a long red coat.
Personality:
She comes across as innocent, in both her looks and her personality. She's generally always happy, always approachable, but a little shy, and always friendly. She can get along with anyone, really. At first meetings, she tends to hold back, but she opens up when she gets to know people a little more. She's just a little shy and reserved at first. She's confident within herself, but not in-your-face with it. She's got that quiet confidence and she's generally poised, and composed. Which, only makes her more approachable and likeable. She's easy to like and to be friends with.
She's interested in other people. She wants to like people and to be liked. Tamber's dependable. She's the kind of person that others can depend on to be on time, to take her responsibilities seriously, and so on. She values security, and stability. It is hard for her to deal with any kind of instability, or uncertainty. It's almost like she's afraid of it. It is also hard for her to deal with, or understand indifference. She often over reacts to things, or has very passionate reactions - quietly passionate, but passionate none-the-less. For instance, she dislikes and fears the army and those in charge of the army. It's learnt and inherited, but it's passionate. She's far from being an activist though, she tends to keep her reactions to herself. She just can't understand why people can be indifferent to things that should provoke those strong reactions.
Tamber's intelligent, and it tends to show. She can write, she can read, but she's best with numbers. Her mother's a tutor, so it makes sense that she's had a good education. It's something that she's proud of. It's hard to find an educated person, let alone an educated commoner, who's a women, and she's proud that she's one of them. She's sees herself as being better than the uneducated, because she knows things that they don't, and she can do things that they can't. And, she has better job prospects. But, it isn't something that she rubs in people's faces. It's well concealed. She likes organization, and structure. For example, her apartment is painfully tidy, and her work is immaculate. She's a little bit of a perfectionist, really.
She's a little contradictory in that she looks and acts innocent, but she actually really isn't. She doesn't look or act like someone who would participate in anything illegal, but in truth, she's stealing money from the people that she works with - from mostly decent, hard working people. You'd just never guess it. It's certainly not something that's overt, or something that she makes known. Her innocence aids her, rather than hinders her. It makes it easier to gain peoples trust, and nobody would believe that she's capable of embezzelment. Her innocence and size tend to give her an air of vulnerability, but this also isn't necessarily as it seems. Thanks to her father, she knows a few things about fighting with knives and daggers, though it isn't hard to overpower her.
She has a different moral compass. Her values and morality are defined externally. She weighs them against the world around her. They're defined by the community in which she lives, grew up, and works. Stealing from her employers is okay, because it's something that's done and is okay in the society in which she lives. Her values and moral code tends to change to suit those of the community, and the people around her. She's not likely to go out and murder someone
History: We've been over a lot of it already. Born the middle child to an absconded Scanran captain and a Tortallan tutor. Her child hood was spent in a small village right on the border of Scanra and Tortal. It would be easy to hop the border if the army ever tracked Rikard down. All the children were schooled at home by their mother, so they got a good, solid education. She had friends in the village. It was pretty normal, despite the nagging fear that one day the army could track them down and come after them.
They never actually did. Instead, as everyone got older Tamber decided that it was time to move on and carve her own way. She moved to Corus, and got some work. She heard about a book keeping job going, so she approached the owners, and got the job. She picked up more work for other businesses through word of mouth. And, eventually stole enough money from them to buy an apartment. At the moment, she's just looking for a bit of job security. She's heard rumors of an organization that can help her get it.
Likes: Flowers, spring time, summer, sunshine, sitting in the sun, watching bees and wasps working, people, being liked, making friends, her work, organization, stability, security, being looked after, clothes, her apartment, sleeping, afternoons, juices.
Dislikes: Getting wet, winter, the cold, indifference, instability and insecurity, the smell of fish, coffee/smoking breath, spiders, enclosed spaces, the smell of ale, blood - it makes her feel faint.
