Episode 80

Esmeraude's in the bath, talking to herself about how beautiful she is, when Saffir appears. He wants her to get busy and finish her mission, not waste time in a bath. She just brushes him off, as she's already located another negative energy point.

Esmeraude appears over the city (in a bathrobe and her hair in a towel) and places another figurine at a cram school, leaves the usual droid to watch it, and infects the class with Dark Power.

The next morning at school, everyone is looking at the exam results. Ami's #1 again! Usagi's glad for her, but behind them some other girls are saying it's strange Ami is always at the head of the class. Usagi tells Ami to ignore them, it's just envy. Ami says it's OK, as she is used to this kind of behavior about her good grades. Usagi is used to it about her bad grades.

Suddenly Umino and several other boys appear (all affected by Dark Power), and holding a sheet of paper he claims he found a cheat sheet in Ami's desk! The others start in, saying it's odd someone who hangs around with Usagi could do so well. Usagi and Naru stand up for Ami, but the others won't listen, and wonder why they are taking Ami's side. Not even a direct appeal from Naru affects Umino. Mako arrives and when they make the mistake of telling her to get out of their way they go flying for their trouble. Ami asks Mako to stop fighting. She doesn't care what the others are saying, and she's more upset over the fact she missed a question on the exam.

Ami, Usagi, and Mako are walking home. Mako fumes over what everyone was saying about Ami, and wonders at their strange behavior. Chibi-Usa catches up with them, and asks if the rumor that Ami is cheating is true! Mako and Usagi are ready to start pounding on people again, but Ami tells them not to, pretending that this doesn't matter. She runs off, obviously upset.

Ami resumes heading home, but people are whispering behind her. She ducks into an alley and cries, but remembers Usagi saying that she and the others believe in Ami, and are certain she didn't cheat. She sees on a light pole a poster about a new cram school, and realizes that all the kids who accused her had gone there. She goes there herself, and finding the place empty but full of Dark Power, transforms. Unseen by her, the droid floats outside. It recognizes her as Sailor Mercury, and intends to defeat her.

Sailor Mercury calls out a challenge to anyone listening, and getting no response contacts the others. Usagi comes running. The droid duplicates itself and attacks Mercury. Shabon Spray Freezing defeats them. More start coming, but Double Shabon Spray Freezing gets them. (Ed note - This is the first time she's used her power-up since she got it. Have any of the other Sailor's ever used their power-ups again?) Outside, the droid gets an idea. All the duplicates vanish, and Mercury realizes they weren't real. The droid has underestimated her, and plans to use Mercury to kill the other Senshi.

[eyecatch]

Sailors Jupiter, Mars, and Venus run into the classroom. Mercury tells them that the place is full of Dark Power, and the droid who create it might return. Outside, the droid powers up its antenna, and attacks Mercury mentally. Inside, when Mercury turns to the others, she sees and hears them belittling her, saying she isn't pretty and she flaunts her good grades. At first she tries to pretend they're joking, but then they begin saying she did cheat on the test. When the real Sailor Senshi ask her what's wrong, Mercury sees them threatening her.

Outside, Usagi, Luna, and Chibi-Usa arrive. Seeing the growing figurine and droid, Usagi transforms, and as Sailor Moon confronts the droid. "For spreading Dark Power to students and making them accuse others of cheating I will punish you!" The droid isn't impressed and uses its power on Sailor Moon, who begins to hear the voices of her friends insulting her and putting her down. She seems to be on the verge of collapsing when she suddenly snaps out of it, telling the droid this trick won't work on a girl who's been insulted all her life! The droid can't believe this while Sailor Moon beams.

The droid then reverts to the usual strategy, stomp on Sailor Moon. Its duplicates attack Sailor Moon and manage to kick her flat on her face. But as the real droid leaps at her, it's stopped by a rose, and Tuxedo appears on a rooftop. He tells the droid it shouldn't corrupt the students, and challenges it. The duplicates attack Tuxedo and succeed in knocking him off the roof. He hits the ground hard, and Sailor Moon runs to him.

The droid laughs and intensifies its attack on Sailor Mercury, telling her to destroy those who insult her. Mercury is being battered down by the assault. When the others try to help, she pushes through them, and prepares for her Shining Aqua Illusion attack! Jupiter, Mars, Venus, and Artemis all flee the room through the window and join Sailor Moon and Tuxedo. Mercury goes to the window and now sees them all insulting her.

The droid says she enjoys having friends turn against each other. Mercury leaves the room and faces the others. Everyone pleads with Mercury to snap out of it. Sailor Moon runs up to her, but Mercury knocks her down! Sailor Moon gets back up, saying she doesn't believe Mercury will hurt them, but she prepares to attack. Then she suddenly turns on the droid, saying it's what she must destroy. Shining Aqua Illusion staggers the droid, and Mercury tells the droid that the friendship between the Senshi is too strong to be broken by likes of it. Sailor Moon finishes the droid off.

The figurine shrinks and shatters. Tuxedo tells the others that they have won today's battle and he admires the Senshi's friendship and faith in each other.

Back in the future, Saffir interrupts Esmeraude in the bath again and is angry over her failure. She doesn't seem concerned as tells Saffir to leave, as there is only one man she wants to see her bathing and it's not him. However, as soon as Saffir leaves she becomes angry at her plans being foiled once more.

Back at the school, the girls thank Ami for not attacking them, and she says that she knows they believe in her and that's all that matters. Umino and the others arrive and apologize to Ami for everything they said. They all admire her good grades. Ami forgives everyone and says that her grades come from studying. Usagi is somewhat annoyed at everyone's sudden change in behavior (and of all the attention Ami is getting) and the others remind her it was the Dark Power that made them all act that way. Umino suddenly pops up and says Usagi should go to cram school as well, which sends her running off, saying she hates studying. Ami smiles.

Episode 81

In a flashback, we see Chibi-Usa's first day at school in Tokyo. (I have to admit, she looks VERY cute!) The teacher introduces her, and her name is shown written on the board. One of the boys in the class starts to make fun of the literal meaning of her name (Little Rabbit) and a girl behind him defends Chibi-Usa, clobbering him on the head.

Chibi-Usa is remembering all this while lying in bed with a cold compress on her head, as she's been ill for a few days. Artemis and Luna tell her she looks like she's getting better. Usagi comes in to check on her, and has brought some visitors, all the rest of the girls. Usagi has another surprise. Momo-chan, Chibi-Usa's friend from school, sticks her head around the door. Chibi-Usa perks right up, jumps out of bed, and goes running to her. She tells Momo-chan that she's feeling better, and Momo-chan intends on filling her in on all the fun things that have happened at school. The other girls are happy that Chibi-Usa is almost better, and Ami wonders exactly why the enemy is after Chibi-Usa.

That night, we find a figurine and a droid in a park. A great deal of Dark Power is present. Esmeraude appears, and tells the droid that it must make sure the Sailor Senshi don't stop them this time. The droid proves to be a set of twins, Chiral and Achiral (with reversed color schemes) who then vanish. Esmeraude feels that the city is backward and loud, and will be better off once filled with Dark Power. Beside, once the Black Gate is opened she can be with Prince Dimando.

(Ed. note - The names of the droids are taken from organic chemistry, and mean "asymmetric" and "symmetric" respectively. Sailor Moon: Fun AND educational!)

Chibi-Usa and the cats run through the street, as she's late for school. (That sounds just like someone else we know.) Chibi-Usa tells Luna she should have woken her up and Luna protests that she tried and couldn't. (This also sounds like someone else we know.) They arrive at school and hear angry voices, and then find everyone fighting! Chibi-Usa spots Momo being menaced by a bigger boy and runs to the rescue, but it's Momo-chan who flattens him. Chibi-Usa can't believe it. Momo-chan yells at Chibi-Usa that she hates her, knocks her feet out from under her, and runs off, followed by Chibi-Usa. Luna knows something is very wrong when she sees a flash from the roof, which Artemis identifies as Dark Power.

Inside, Chibi-Usa finds the building in a shambles. When she reaches her homeroom, he finds Momo, her teacher, and several others, all of whom attack her! She runs and hides in another classroom. A dummy by the wall moves, scaring her, but it's Luna and Artemis, who are glad they've found her. Momo-chan suddenly opens the door, but everyone's hidden, and she leaves. Artemis feels that this is Esmeraude's work. The cats want Chibi-Usa to leave with them but she, although scared, won't leave until she's helped Momo-chan. Artemis leaves to get help while Luna stays with Chibi-Usa.

Artemis manages to find Usagi, Ami, and Mako. While he fills them in, Ami gets a message from her communicator. The others have found a second figurine! Usagi, Ami, and Mako transform.

Venus and Mars are confronting the second figurine in the park, which has grown to enormous size. They figure that since the figurine has grown so quickly, a droid must be nearby and they must destroy both before the Dark Power can spread further. One of the droids then appears behind them, and says he'll send them both to hell!

At the school, a chair comes crashing through a window near the arriving Sailor Moon and Artemis, who can't believe all the damage being done. The figurine here is also huge. Back at the park, Venus tries the Lovely Chain and Mars the Burning Mandella, but the droid dodges. Suddenly Mercury appears and tries Shining Aqua Illusion. Jupiter has arrived as well, to the surprise of Venus and Mars. The droid laughs, says he'll finish them off one by one, and vanishes. The Sailor Senshi realize he's gone to the school, where Chibi-Usa and Sailor Moon are alone!

[Eyecatch]

Sailor Moon and Artemis sneak into the school and enter the classroom where Chibi-Usa is hiding. Sailor Moon calls out to her, but nothing happens, until a skeleton in the corner answers! Sailor Moon freaks as it runs to her, but Chibi-Usa was hiding behind it, and she clings to Sailor Moon, crying. A droid appears right in front of Sailor Moon and swings at her. She manages to duck in time and with Chibi-Usa runs out into the corridor. The droid appears here as well and confronts them. Sailor Moon responds with the usual battle speech, but the droid says she should use her breath to pray instead.

The droid divides into twins again, and together they block both ends of the corridor. Chibi-Usa spots Momo-chan with one of them. She cries out to her, but Luna tells her Momo is affected by the Dark Power. Chibi-Usa runs at one of the droids, yelling at it to release Momo-chan, when Mercury appears and creates a fog. The rest of the arriving Sailor Senshi tell the droids they won't let them harm the city, they'll defeat them first. One droid vanishes, and the rest of the Senshi join Sailor Moon and Chibi-Usa. The other droid appears through the fog with Momo-chan. The Senshi thinks he's going to attack them, but instead he sends Momo-chan! Chibi-Usa tries to run to her, but Mars stops her. The second droid prepares to attack and Jupiter runs at him, but the first appears behind her and blasts her! When this distracts the others, the second droid traps them all (Momo-chan too) in an energy box and proceeds to blast them all with Dark Power!

Despite the bombardment, Chibi-Usa manages to reach Momo-chan, and releases one of her Moonbeams. The droids are astonished that they have the rabbit. The energy released neutralizes the energy trap and Momo-chan recovers, wondering what's going on.

One of the droids attacks again, and Momo jumps to push Chibi-Usa out of the way, taking the full blast herself! Staring at this, Chibi-Usa has a flashback of the Dark Moon attack on Crystal Tokyo. Holding Momo-chan, she screams, and releases a tremendous Moonbeam blast, which staggers everyone.

In the future, on the Dark Moon, Dimando and Wiseman detect Chibi-Usa's energy release. In the present, the droids are sent crashing out of the building. Chibi-Usa's discharge dies out, and she collapses. Sailor Moon tells Mars and Venus to watch Chibi-Usa while she and the others deal with the droids.

On the Dark Moon, Wiseman says that the rabbit has unlimited power, and that they should try to capture her rather than kill her. If they can add her power to that of the dark crystal, they would be unstoppable. Dimando wonders how they could do this. Saffir, lurking, listens to them.

Outside the school, Sailors Moon, Mars, and Jupiter run to find the droids, who appear from out of the ground behind them! But just as they attack, a rose stops them. Tuxedo Mask appears and says that they cannot be forgiven for corrupting a place of learning, and that Sailor Moon should show them justice. Sailor Moon produces the Moon Rod. The droids try to escape into the ground, but Jupiter stops them with a lighting attack that shatters the ground around them! Sailor Moon finishes them off, and both figurines shatter.

Esmeraude appears, furious, and breaks her fan. She's tired of their constant interference and will defeat them herself. She prepares to attack them, but is stopped by a message from Dimando, who orders her to return at once. She vanishes.

Later, the girls and Chibi-Usa visit Momo-chan in the hospital. Chibi-Usa is glad she's OK, and Momo-chan says their situations have reversed.

Outside, everyone is watching Chibi-Usa as she looks at the sunset. She wants to return to the future and help her mother, but she is afraid of the enemy. She shows the others her key that can return her to the future. Mamoru goes to her, and says he'll go with her and help her. In their own way, all the other girls agree to go with her as well. Usagi finishes it off by saying it's decided that they will all go the future with Chibi-Usa and help her defeat the enemy. Chibi-Usa looks up and asks her mother to hold on, they will save her.

Episode 82

The Sailor Senshi run over a dark plain towards the distant Crystal Palace, as Chibi-Usa's voice-over cries out that the enemy is attacking. Something falls from the sky and the palace explodes, the blast sending the Senshi flying. Chibi-Usa calls out to their limp, unmoving bodies, and then she begin to scream. She wakens in bed, gasping for breath and clutching her time key.

Morning. Chibi-Usa is standing in a park. She's having doubts that Sailor Moon and the others can defeat the enemy and save her mother. Mamoru appears and goes to her. He asks her why she isn't with the others, as they are all prepared to go to the future. He also tells her that if she wants to help her mother she cannot run away from her fears. She must trust in herself and the Sailor Senshi, and he promises to be there to protect her.

The Sailor Senshi are standing on the dock where Chibi-Usa first appeared. They expected to meet Chibi-Usa here and are wondering where she is. Tuxedo Mask appears with Chibi-Usa, and says there is no need to search for her. They are all glad to see Chibi-Usa, and Sailor Moon wants to know where she's been. Artemis and Luna ask her if she's ready to return to the future. Chibi-Usa says she had some things to take care of, but now she's ready to go.

Chibi-Usa lifts her key and activates it. She asks the God of Time to open the gate in the sky and allow them passage to the Door of Time. The wind rises around them, a beam of light descends from the clouds, and all vanish...

Sailor Moon appears alone in a vague grey expanse. She looks around, wondering where everyone is. A small building looms ahead and she goes towards it, but is suddenly challenged by an indistinct figure with a staff, who accuses her of breaking an important Taboo, approaching the Door to Time. The figure then attacks! Sailor Moon doesn't know what is going on, but as the figure strikes Chibi-Usa appears and throws herself at her. "Small Lady! Sailor Moon!" Sailor Moon now recognizes her as Sailor Pluto.

Everyone else appears. Chibi-Usa explains that she's sorry she has broken her promise and brought others with her, but she thinks Sailor Moon and the rest can help. Sailor Pluto lifts her hand, and Chibi-Usa's afraid she's going to strike her, but she instead touches her gently. Instead of being angry, Sailor Pluto is pleased Chibi-Usa has learned to master the Key to Time, and feels she's maturing. She then apologizes to Sailor Moon for attacking her, but also comments that Sailor Moon has always been troublesome to her. Sailor Moon doesn't understand this remark. (This foreshadows events to come in Sailor Moon S)

She then turns and open the doors behind her with a command and her staff. Everyone has to enter the corridor of time to reach the gateway to Crystal Tokyo. It's hard to pass through, so they must all be careful. She asks Sailor Moon to protect Small Lady. Mercury asks her to come with them, but she has to stay and protect the door of time. Everyone goes through the gateway and vanishes into the mist. As Sailor Pluto watches them go Luna says she once heard Queen Serenity speak of a Sailor Senshi who must remain at her post at all times. Pluto is a lonely warrior who, because of her duty, must live out her life in the Nether Realm, alone. Sailor Pluto closes the gateway.

When they arrive in the corridor, they are faced by a powerful wind. The Senshi begin complaining about hard it is to move against it, and that they don't know if they can make it.

Meanwhile, on the Dark Moon their presence has become known. Dimando and the others are amazed they are trying to pass through the corridor. Wiseman appears, and says that this is the time to capture the rabbit and the ginzuishou. By adding their power to that of the black crystal, the Dark Moon will be invincible.

As the monitor focuses in on Sailor Moon, Dimando seems to think he knows who she is, and says she's beautiful. Wiseman leaves, and Dimando orders Esmeraude to capture the rabbit and bring Sailor Moon to him, unharmed. Both Saffir and Esmeraude are startled by this order. Dimando leaves, saying he wishes to see her beauty in person.

After Dimando disappears, Saffir says this is all the Wiseman's doing. He feels the Wiseman is manipulating his brother like a puppet, and he would love to rip his hooded cloak off and see who he really is. Esmeraude feels the same way, but since Dimando believes the ginzuishou will help them, she will capture it and the rabbit. But she vows to kill Sailor Moon because she has stolen Dimando's heart.

[Eyecatch]

The Senshi and others advance through the corridor with considerable difficulty. The Senshi are still complaining about the effort required, and when Sailor Moon starts to join in, Tuxedo calls out to quiet her. Tuxedo and Sailor Moon each take one of Chibi-Usa's hands to help her along. Chibi-Usa is dismayed at how the Senshi sound as if they are already defeated by the strong winds, and her doubts about if they can really help save her mother increase. She lets her grip with Sailor Moon slacken for a moment. Sailor Moon calls to her, and she tightens it again, realizing that she must believe in herself and Sailor Moon if she wants to save her mother.

A familiar laugh is heard and Esmeraude appears above them! She says this is as far as they will get and releases a blast that sends them all flying. Tuxedo and Sailor Moon lose their grips on Chibi-Usa. Esmeraude lands and summons a droid, as it would be easier for it to move through the passage. She orders it to kill everyone but the rabbit. When the droid disappears, Esmeraude remarks she forgot to order it not to kill Sailor Moon. Oh well!

The Senshi have landed together, and don't know where Tuxedo or Chibi-Usa are. Suddenly, the ginzuishou becomes activated! As it glows, an answering glow is visible in the distance. They think it may be the ginzuishou of the future, so they should go to it. (Remember this for later.)

Meanwhile, Tuxedo and the cats are alone and lost. Tuxedo starts walking when he hears a familiar-sounding voice telling him to go the other way. He decides to trust this information and heads off. (We find out who this was next episode.)

Chibi-Usa is alone with only Luna-P. She's frightened and doesn't want to be alone. She sees a shape in the distance, the gateway to Crystal Tokyo. She realizes that she can go home, but she doesn't want to go without the others. Suddenly a voice calls out to her, and a figure appears. It's Neo-Queen Serenity! Chibi-Usa runs towards her, crying out "Mama!". The Queen says she's missed rabbit, which causes Chibi-Usa to stop. Her mother calls her Small Lady, not rabbit! The "Queen" reveals herself to be the droid, and says what a smart little girl Chibi-Usa is. It advances on Chibi-Usa to finish her off. Chibi-Usa is too afraid to move, but remembers Mamoru telling her that if she wants to help her mother, she can't run from her problems, and she yells for Luna-P. It clobbers the droid in the face, and then becomes a slingshot. However, Chibi-Usa's shots have no effect. The droid is advancing again when the Sailor Senshi appear. The droid can't believe they managed to find their way to the gateway, but Sailor Moon says that luck was on their side.

The droid blasts them all. Mars moves to attack but Mercury, using her computer visor, tries to warn her off. Mars' fire attack bounces right off the droid! Mercury types madly at her computer, and says the droid can manipulate time and space. Sailors Jupiter and Venus try a team attack, but it's no good. Mercury completes her analysis, and says the droid is only vulnerable after she's released a blast, and that only the Sailor Planet attack is powerful enough to defeat it. Sailor Moon protests that the droid will attack them in the time it takes for them to power up.

Suddenly, Chibi-Usa pushes through them yelling that she will buy them the time they need. As she charges the droid, she promises herself she won't run away anymore, because she believes in herself and Sailor Moon. They will save her mother. The droid thinks Chibi-Usa is a cute but foolish little girl, but that's OK as it like cute but foolish little girls. It swings, but misses her, and Chibi-Usa calls out to the Senshi. They prepare for the Planet Attack while Chibi-Usa uses her slingshot, only this time her Moonbeam helps her stagger the droid. Enraged, it fires a blast at Chibi-Usa, but Tuxedo arrives and scoops her up in time. Now ready, the Senshi release the Planet Attack and the droid is destroyed.

Everyone gathers together, glad to be reunited. Tuxedo apologizes for being late, but Artemis says it's OK as everything worked out. They all decide it's time to go through the gateway. When it swings open, they are greeted to a view of a dark and blasted city...

Episode 83

Everyone is stunned by the sight of the devastated Crystal Tokyo. None of them can believe that the future will be so dark and desolate. The sight of her home in ruins is too much for Chibi-Usa, and she runs into the fog crying out for her mother. The others set out in pursuit of her, telling her not to run away and saying they must catch her before she gets hurt.

Looking for Chibi-Usa, everyone pauses on a foggy path, calling out her name. Suddenly, they spy a figure slowly approaching. Sailor Mars prepares to attack, but Tuxedo restrains her. At the figure nears, Sailor Moon realizes with shock that it looks like Tuxedo Mask (albeit in lavender and white, without the hat and carrying a sword instead of a cane). Everyone else is equally stunned, especially Tuxedo. The figure stops, raises his head, and welcomes them to 30th century Crystal Tokyo.

The sound of his voice sparks memories in Sailor Moon of the nightmare that kept Usagi and Mamoru apart. It's the same voice from the nightmare! Tuxedo, also recognizing the voice, becomes enraged and charges the figure, but goes right through him! The figure turns to Tux, lying on the ground in shock, and introduces himself as King Endymion, Tuxedo Mask's future self.

Everyone's stunned once again. Sailor Moon is highly upset and confused. She wants to know why Tuxedo Mask of the Future would send nightmares to them in the past to break them up. Mercury tries to calm her and says she should give him a chance to explain. Endymion thanks her but insists they must return to the safety of the Crystal Palace before he can explain anything. Sailor Moon wants to find Chibi-Usa first, but Endymion claims to have already found her and that she is safe.

They all follow the ghostly figure, unaware that they are under observation by Dimando and the others. Saffir is amazed that they have reached Crystal Toyko. Dimando has already realized the connection between Neo-Queen Serenity and Sailor Moon.

Unnoticed by either, Esmeraude is enraged. She realizes that Dimando is in love with Sailor Moon. Saffir orders her to finish the Senshi before they reach the Crystal Palace, but Dimando cancels that order. He will capture the Rabbit and defeat the Senshi himself. Esmeraude weakly acknowledges his command and Dimando vanishes. After he is gone, Esmeraude throws her fan at the image of Sailor Moon and curses her for bewitching Dimando's heart.

Everyone has arrived at a special chamber in the Palace. Normally, Endymion tells them, the Queen is the only one allowed here. Sailor Moon is more concerned with seeing Chibi-Usa, but Endymion continues to assure her she is safe. First, however, they must concentrate on understanding what has happened. He activates a hologram to give them an overview of the situation.

Sometime in the future, the world will undergo a frozen sleep. Neo-Queen Serenity used her power to awaken it, and then created the Utopia known as Crystal Tokyo. However, in order to do this, the people of Earth had to undergo a type of purification by her crystal. There were those who didn't want to be cleansed by the crystal and rebelled. Together, Endymion and Serenity defeated the rebellion. Those who still refused cleansing chose to leave Earth and were never heard from since...that is until the Dark Moon attack.

They had chosen to live on a planet at the edge of the Galaxy that was shrouded in darkness, Dark Nemesis. For that reason they had gone undetected until recently when the planet had become visible. In the meantime, the people had banded together and formed their own civilization, becoming the Dark Moon Family.

Endymion continues to explain that when Crystal Toyko's defenses mysteriously failed, the Dark Moon suddenly appeared and began their attack. Their only hope were the Sailor Senshi of the future who joined their powers to create a shield around the Palace. These are the Sailor Senshi's future selves.

Endymion was hurt in the attack and therefore his body cannot move. That is why they are seeing a projection of himself. Their only hope of defeating the enemy is the ginzinshou. But Neo-Queen Serenity is the only one who can use it. By now he seems ready to break down, when Usagi repeats what he just said about Serenity. (Ed. note: Nope, she hasn't put 2 + 2 together yet.) Endymion must tell her, "Neo-Queen Serenity is your future self." To say she is shocked would be putting it lightly.

[Eyecatch]

When it finally settles in that she will still be alive in the 30th century and Queen of Crystal Tokyo, she must then deal with what will happen to her during the Dark Moon Attack. Endymion's hologram shows Serenity sleeping on a stone alter encased in crystal. Luna and Artemis ask how this happened.

Endymion explains that during the battle, Serenity was outside the safety of the Palace when a bolt of energy attacked her. The Senshi used their powers to form the crystal around her as a protective shield from the blast, but something went wrong. She has fallen into a deep sleep and nothing they have tried can wake her or break the crystal. She is their only hope. Again he is very upset as he whispers about Serenity and his daughter, "Small Lady."

The floor opens, and Chibi-Usa, asleep, appears. Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask rush to see that she's all right, Sailor Moon taking her in her arms. With everything they know thus far, they must still be told... "She is your daughter." Sailor Moon and Tuxedo look from Chibi-Usa to each other, and finally their faces blush a bright shade of red.

Jupiter, Mercury, Venus. "Chibi-Usa-chan is...Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask's...daughter?!?!"

Mars, who's beyond accepting this, is completely scandalized. In an angry huff, she blurts out, "What day, what month, what year did THIS happen?", embarrassing Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask even more.

Endymion continues. He says that Small Lady only wanted to help her mother. He had told her the stories of the strongest and most powerful of all the Sailor Senshi, Sailor Moon, as bed-time stories. She only knew her as a legend and never knew that Serenity was Sailor Moon. She thought that bringing her and the ginzuishou to the future would save Neo-Queen Serenity.

Going to Sailor Moon, Tuxedo Mask, and Chibi-Usa, he apologizes for sending them the nightmares, but they needed to know that their love was strong enough to survive such hardships, because they are destined to face worse challenges in the future. Only by joining their power and fighting such hardships together can they hope to succeed. Lifting his hand to stroke Chibi-Usa's face, he says he feels strange asking himself to protect his daughter. Tuxedo promises to do so with his life.

Suddenly, Endymion vanishes, and the room fills with Dark Power. Dimando appears above them. Looking at Sailor Moon he sees her as Neo-Queen Serenity. "Those eyes are the same that greeted me." His Dark Moon sigil on his forehead becomes a third eye, and its power transfixes Sailor Moon (still holding Chibi-Usa) and leaves the other helpless. Sailor Moon starts to float upwards towards him. Tuxedo manages to pull his cane and throw it at Dimando, which distracts him long enough for Sailor Moon to drop Chibi-Usa. Tuxedo catches her. Dimando seizes Sailor Moon. "I had wanted to capture the child as well, but you are what I really came for." He vanishes, taking Sailor Moon with him. Tuxedo is barely in control of himself as he orders the Senshi to take care of Chibi-Usa. Endymion appears. "There is no need to try and follow them. I know where he is taking her."

Usagi (not Sailor Moon) slowly regains consciousness. "My head hurts." She finds herself lying on a bed wearing Neo-Queen Serenity's dress, and realizes that outside of her transformation she's vulnerable. She finds her transformation brooch lying beside her. "Where am I?"

She realizes Dimando is standing across the room. He is surprised that she as awakened so soon considering the amount of Dark Energy her body absorbed. He introduces himself and tells her that this is her palace from now on and that she is his Queen forever. He uses his power to lift her from the bed into the air. She tries to transform, but nothing happens!

Dimando teleports before Usagi. "You cannot use your crystal while so close the Evil Black Crystal." He puts his hand on her shoulder but she knocks it away, wearing a look of defiance. Dimando recognizes it as the same one she gave as Neo-Queen Serenity...even the eyes. He use his powers to stun her and takes her face into his hand, saying again that from now on she will be his Queen. Usagi asks Dimando why he attacked her kingdom. He says they came for her crystal. With its power added to their own Black Crystal, they can conquer all time and space.

Tuxedo, in a glider, approaches the Dark Moon Citadel on the outskirts of the city.

Usagi tries to turn away from Dimando but he uses his third eye to paralyze her again. "Now Neo-Queen Serenity, I finally have you within my grasp." He pulls her closer.

Tuxedo has reached the fortress and running inside calls out "Usako!"

Usagi senses him but feels he is too far away to help her. She wishes he were there and knows she is about to cry because she does not wants to kissed by anyone other than Mamo-chan. Dimando moves to kiss her, when a red streak flashes by, breaking his hold on her. A rose embeds itself in the floor and Usagi tumbles back down to the bed.

Tuxedo appears above at a broken window. "A being that uses Dark Power to take what he wants..Tuxedo Kamen will not forgive you!" (Delivered in a MAJORLY TICKED OFF tone.)

Dimando, not impressed, tells him not to speak so arrogantly. His third eye releases a blast, and Tuxedo uses his cape to shield himself from it. But suddenly, Dimando is caught up in a storm of Dark Power. While he's distracted, Tuxedo uses his expandable cane to pull Usagi up to him. They embrace, and then flee.

Outside, Esmeraude watches as Tuxedo and Usagi escape in the glider. Saffir appears behind her and asks if she was responsible for Sailor Moon escaping. She feigns innocence and proclaims that Dimando has her love and loyalty. Saffir states that means they are in the same position. They both care for his brother and hate Sailor Moon.

Tuxedo and Usagi have made it back to the Palace grounds. Tuxedo reminds her that Endymion said they will have many more challenges to face. Usagi says she doesn't care. She will face them as long as he is with her. They kiss as it begins to snow.

Episode 84

On the Dark Moon, Dimando, Esmeraude, and Saffir appear. Dimando orders Saffir to prepare for another attack on Crystal Tokyo. Saffir is angry with his brother, telling him he has forgotten their true mission, which is to change the past and get revenge for their ancestors who were exiled from Earth by Neo-Queen Serenity. Saffir continues to argue that they would have beaten their enemy by now if Dimando weren't obssessed with Serenity, who has rejected him twice already, in her past and present form. At this, Dimando strikes out at Saffir with his power, which shocks Esmeraude. He vows to have Serenity within his grasp once more, as he looks at her image. Esmeraude is in silent rage.

In the ruins of Crystal Tokyo, the Sailor Senshi stand looking at the Crystal Palace, amazed at the devastation and wondering why it was so easy for the enemy to overwhelm the defenses. Chibi-Usa, staring, drops Luna-P and doesn't notice. Sailor Mercury returns it to her. Luna worries about Sailor Moon and Tuxedo, and Mars is ready to go out and find them when Endymion appears. In a monitor room, he shows them an image of Sailor Moon and Tuxedo approaching. The Senshi run out to meet them and are overjoyed to see Sailor Moon all right. But when Sailor Moon starts crying, Mars starts in on her as usual, asking why she's crying now. Sailor Moon's just glad to see them all, even Mars who always picks on her. Chibi-Usa looks on at them as Mars starts yelling that she's NOT picking on her.

In the Palace, they all find Neo-Queen Serenity suspended in crystal. Sailor Moon, somewhat unbelieving, looks at her future self. Chibi-Usa runs to "Mama", and says that she's brought Sailor Moon to help her. Endymion tells the others that the ginzinshou of the 30th century is missing. Someone took it from the Palace just before the Dark Moon's attack on Crystal Toyko. Unseen by them, Chibi-Usa started upon hearing this, and as Endymion continued seemed ready to burst into tears.

Mars says that Sailor Moon should use the ginzinshou that she possess to try and free Neo-Queen Serenity. Sailor Moon hesitates, not knowing if it will work, but Tuxedo urges her on. She lifts the ginzinshou and uses its power, but nothing happens! Chibi-Usa cries out "Not even Sailor Moon can help Mama!" She runs out as Sailor Moon collapses and the others catch her. The Senshi start to go after her, but Tuxedo stops them, saying that she needs to be alone, and she'll be safe inside the Palace's shield.

However, Chibi-Usa wanders beyond the shield, through the ruins, and finally sits alone on a swing. Suddenly a low laugh is heard, and Wiseman appears, saying now is the time for him to act. Chibi-Usa turns to run, but is frozen in place. Wiseman tells her that she was safe inside the Palace, but here there is nothing to protect her from his powers. Now he will find out what happened to the ginzinshou.

He makes Chibi-Usa remember the events leading up to the Dark Moon attack. She had broken a vase in the Palace and was being scolded by unseen woman for being so clumsy. They tell her she should be a graceful and gentle lady like her mother. (Ed. note: Usagi must have finally grown out of her clumsiness, but passed it on to Chibi-Usa.) She runs through the Palace crying out that she wants to hurry up and become a lady like her mother.

She goes to the ginzinshou, and uses Luna-P to open the case it's in, thinking that with it, she could be a lady like her Mama. But as she takes it, it suddenly flares and vanishes! "No, don't go away!" With it gone, the Dark Moon attacks. She cries out "Mama" as she has flashes of Serenity being encased in crystal by the Senshi. Her cry of "Papa" is accompanied by the memory of Endymion being blasted in the monitor room. The city is destroyed as Chibi-Usa screams.

Wiseman tells Chibi-Usa she made herself forget these things because she knows everyone will blame her for what happened to her mother. He casts an illusion of the Senshi blaming her for all that has happened. The illusions taunt her, saying it's her fault her mother was outside the safety of the Palace looking for her. Chibi-Usa covers her ears, "It's not my fault!" She didn't mean for the ginzinshou to disappear. She sees her mother being attacked and shielded again. "It's not my fault!" Wiseman says he believes her. All she has to do is take his hand, and he will help her prove it's not her fault. He offers his hand, and she takes it.

On the Dark Moon, the Dark Crystal flares with power as Saffir and Esmeraude watch. She says that with the crystal more powerful their victory is assured. Saffir doesn't trust Wiseman or the power of the Black Crystal. He wants to see what's really under that cloak. Esmeraude is confident she can handle Wiseman. She'll do whatever is necessary to get what she wants.

Dimando appears. Esmeraude tells him how powerful the Black Crystal has become, but he simply vanishes again. Saffir says that Wiseman once predicted that Neo-Queen Serenity would be his brother's future love. Since that day, Dimando has cared for nothing else. If it was not for his brother's obsession with Serenity, they would have defeated Sailor Moon already. Again, Esmeraude is enraged. She WILL win Dimando's heart and be his Queen, and to do this she will be Wiseman's help.

A storm batters the Crystal Palace, and in the nearby Dark Moon Citadel Esmeraude appears, yelling for Wiseman. She hears a woman's laughter, and says she called for Wiseman, not one of his droids. Wiseman appears. She asks him to predict her future. She wants to know if she will be Dimando's Queen. Wiseman predicts that she will master the power of the Black Crystal and become the Dark Moon's Queen. He creates a tiara that floats toward her. She's stunned by his words and takes the tiara, saying he should not underestimate her just because he's given her power. When she places the tiara on her head, she screams in pain and there is a flash of energy that transforms her. Esmeraude laughs in delight.

But Wiseman calls her a fool for thinking she could ever control the power of the Black Crystal, and Dark Power begins to surround Esmeraude. She falls, and as more and more Power surges around her, says she would give her soul for Dimando.

Outside, a wall of the Citadel shatters, and a huge green dragon appears (with the tiara embedded in its forehead). It lifts into the air and moves towards the Palace. With the place shuddering, everyone runs to the monitor room, where Endymion shows them the approaching dragon. Endymion uses the sensors to scan the dragon. The Senshi wonder how they can defeat something so huge, especially Sailor Moon, who's scared (as usual). Endymion tells them not to be deceived by its size. He's detected the crystal tiara as the source of its power.

A crash shakes the Palace, and Luna cries out that the barrier is under attack. Sailor Jupiter declares that they have to defeat the dragon as Sailor Moon hangs her head. Everyone agrees (including Sailor Moon with her head still hung). The Senshi races off. Tuxedo asks Endymion to look after Chibi-Usa, or rather Small Lady. He leaves as well.

The dragon attacks the barrier relentlessly with tremendous force, as the Senshi of the future take the strain. Sailor Moon (knees practically knocking) asks what are they gonna do? The dragon sweeps over them, knocking them all flat. Venus uses the Lovely Chain and it wounds the dragon, but she is sent flying. In the monitor room, Luna and Artemis see the wound close!

Endymion has gone to Neo-Queen Serenity. "If you can hear me, grant them the power to defeat this enemy." Luna-P rolls out from behind the crystal and Endymion realizes that Small Lady is gone!

Back at the dragon, everyone is sent flying again. Jupiter uses the Sparkling Wide Pressure attack and the dragon crashes to the ground, dust and smoke flying. Sailor Moon jumps for joy, and runs to the crater to gloat. Tuxedo calls her back, but she's sure there no danger, until the smoke clears and the dragon appears! But just as it goes for her, Tuxedo sweeps in and carries her off.

Mars tries the Burning Mandela, and Mercury the Shining Aqua Illusion. Both score hits, but the dragon recovers. Mars and Mercury are at the point of despair, as nothing they do works. Tuxedo urges them on. They must remember what Endymion said about not being deceived by the dragon's size.

The dragon breathes fire, and Tuxedo protects Sailor Moon. He tells her that they must attack together. He leaps and scores a direct hit with a rose in the crystal tiara. The dragon is staggered, and Tux looks to Sailor Moon. She produces the Cutie Mood Rod and Moon Princess Halation destroys it. For a moment Esmeraude appears, wearing the tiara but then she vanishes and it falls. Esmeraude vanishes into a void, crying out Dimando's name. On the Dark Moon, he hears her.

In the monitor room, Luna and Artemis rejoice, but then Endymion appears. Small Lady has vanished! At the Dark Moon Citadel, Wiseman sits alone. He knows Esmeraude has perished but he doesn't care. She's served her purpose. He still has the brothers, and they too will die for his true purpose. A woman's laughter can be heard as a dark mist appears.
