Anaconda |
Real name: Blanche "Blondie" Sitznski Aliases: None Identity: Known to authorities Occupation: Professional mercenary and criminal Citizenship: United States of America Place of Birth: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Known relatives: None Group Affiliation: Serpent Society, Six Pack, Serpent Squad, Femizons Education: High school dropout Height: 6'2" Weight: 222 lbs. Eyes: Green Hair: Blonde Powers: Anaconda possesses the ability to elongate her limbs, entwine them around persons or objects, and constrict. The entire skeletal structure of her arms and legs has been replaced by artificial adamantium alloy-based bones in the basic configuration of a snake's bodily skeleton. Her arms, normally 24 inches from armpit to wrist, and her leg, normally 35 inches from hipbone to ankle, are able to elongate to about one and a half times their normal length. When she extends her limbs in this fashion, the muscle tissue gorges with blood, swelling the limbs so that each looks like a massive, powerful snake. These four constricting limbs are capable of exerting enough pressure to radically deform a one inch-thick steel tube, two feet in diameter. Once Anaconda has fully entwined her serpentine limbs around a human-sized foe, there are few human beings able to get sufficient strength to break her grip. Anaconda has been surgically given artificial gills to enable her to extract oxygen from water in order to breath. She can now breathe while underwater indefinitely, as well as breathe on land. As a by-product of the extensive bio-engineering done to her body, Anaconda possesses superhuman recuperative abilities. Her body can heal from any non-fatal wound many times faster than normal human beings. Abilities: Anaconda possesses superhuman strength enabling her to lift (press) approximately 2 tons on land under optimal conditions. Using her strength to constrict rather than lift, Anaconda has a grip that cannot be broken by those whose strength exceed her own by factors up to 30. Weapons: None History: At one time, Blanche Sitznski was a steel-worker, and later became the calisthenics instructor at Taskmaster's Academy. She soon found her way to the Roxxon Oil Company, where they bioengineered her into having superhuman abilities, such as elongating her limbs, super-strength, breathing underwater, and regeneration. She adopted the name Anaconda, and joined the Serpent Squad in their mission to find the Serpent Crown, and succeeded, but were buried under a rockslide. Surviving the mission, Anaconda and her teammates Black Mamba and Death Adder participated in another mission which brought them up against Iron Man. Sidewinder soon invited Anaconda and the others to join the Serpent Society, which they agreed to. During their initation test, Constrictor called the Avengers hotline and tipped Captain America off to Anaconda's mission, which led Anaconda into direct conflict with the hero. She was eventually defeated, but did not stay in prison long, as Sidewinder teleported her out that same day. She later exacted her revenge on Constrictor by beating him to near death. She also participated in the mission to murder M.O.D.O.K., but was knocked out early in the fight. It is interesting to note that she had a very close relationship with Death Adder, and was most distraught when his body was brought back to the Serpent Citadel after he had been killed. After the Viper's invasion, Anaconda switched sides and betrayed Sidewinder. However, when Viper abandoned the group, Cobra took over leadership, and Anaconda was fine with taking orders from him, having worked together on quite a few missions. She also had a love/hate relationship with Diamondback, once helping her on her date with Captain America and later voting her guilty during her trial. Anaconda and Puff Adder also had a bit of a romantic relationship, though it was never fully elaborated on. She briefly took time out to join Superia's Femizons, where she battled Captain America and Paladin. Anaconda eventually split off from the Serpent Society, participating in the Bloodsport competition, which had her battling Forearm and Puma. The latter defeated Anaconda by slitting her throat. She recovered and rejoined the Serpent Society during Disassembled, but did not stay long, as she went on to work with the government-funded Six Pack. She has played a sort of recurring role in the pages of Cable & Deadpool, but it is unknown if she will return to the Serpent Society when they regroup, or if she plans on sticking with the Six Pack.
