Eyes: Brown Hair: Black Powers: Puff Adder is a mutant with super-strength and the ability to cause the epidermis of his entire body to engorge with blood and thus "puff" up to make him appear larger and more menacing. However, he can only remain fully inflated for approximately fifteen minutes at a time. Abilities: Puff Adder possesses class 10 superhuman strength. He is also well experienced in street fighting and piloting certain aircraft. Weapons: His cowl contains a pressurized container of noxious gas which can be released from his mouth area. It is activated by a specific motion made with his jaw muscles. Paraphernalia: His costume is made of a synthetic stretch fabric created by A.I.M. History: A member of the forth Serpent Squad, Puff Adder was an agent under Viper's command, and was sent to rob a casino in Vegas. Sidewinder noticed this, and invited Puff Adder and the others to join the Serpent Society. Viper's plan worked perfectly, and the infiltration of the Society by the Serpent Squad allowed her to take control of the organization for a short time. However, after Viper ditched the group, Puff Adder took an initiation test alongside Rock Python and Coachwhip to stay in the Society. Though they failed, Cobra allowed them to continue to serve as members. Often working alongside Rock Python, Puff Adder was not the most intelligent of the Serpent Society, but he was a large, quite intimidating man. He also had some technical abilities, as when he piloted the Serpent Saucer. Developing a romantic relationship with Anaconda, he eventually left her to chase after Princess Python. He is definitely one of the harder members of the Serpent Society to keep down, as Captain America experienced time and time again. He eventually abandoned the Society to join Doctor Octopus' Masters of Evil, though that was short-lived. He returned to the Serpent Society during Disassembled, but rumors are that he lost his powers after Decimation. The Wizard list, full of faults, did indeed claim that Puff Adder lost his mutant powers, but nothing has been elaborated on beyond that. It is also interesting to note that Puff Adder does not have a continuous race -- he is constantly drawn as either white or black. My guess is that the artists got him confused with Cottonmouth, as their costumes are quite similar albeit different colors.
