Service Unit 38 - Super Troop 2007 / 2008

home | contact us - Girl Scouts is where today’s girls become tomorrow’s leaders. Through activities that are fun and personally challenging, girls learn decision making-skills and build self-confidence.

A super Service Unit begins with super Leaders and super troops. Super Leaders and troops naturally recruit and keep girls because they are active troops with a well-rounded program.

In order to encourage and support the habits that lead to "super" practices and activities, Service Unit 38 sponsors a "Super Troop" program that acknowledges Leaders and troops who focus on the Girl Scout program and goals. The Super Troop program provides a guide for practices and activities that will direct Leaders and troops into being faithful to these Girl Scout standards.

Based on the data you provide in your monthly Troop Activity Report, Super Troop is tracked and charted for every troop in our Service Unit. The chart is displayed at every Leader meeting, so that you can see the progress for your troop. At the end of the year, Leaders and troops that have fulfilled the Super Troop requirements are acknowledged for their dedication and commitment to providing a quality program.

Super Troop is an ideal troop. It is not an evaluation of leadership skills nor is it intended to be a comparison between Leaders and/or troops. The purpose of this program is to provide guidelines that ensure a well-rounded program.
