@~’~~,~~

“With me...”

Yasha jumped up. A large blush covered his face. Sess looked up and him and didn’t say anything. He touched Yasha’s hand softly and began to brush it gently.

“I was only kidding,” he said and nuzzled Yasha’s hand.

Yasha breathed a sigh of relief. ‘What the hell...’ he thought. ‘Maybe he wasn’t thinking of that...I’m just a little too panicky...’ he thought. He looked at Sess. Sess was too busy with Yasha’s hand to notice the look at him. ‘Though...I do like his attention for me...’ Yasha thought. ‘I like all the soft touched, and kisses. Does that make me less a man?’

Sess stood up and griped Yasha’s shoulder. Yasha stiffened but then relaxed into the touch. “I’m making some coffee, you want some?” Sess whispered into Yasha’s ear.

“Na, could you get me a beer though?” he asked.

Sess gave him a look but nodded. He let go of Yasha and left for the kitchen. Yasha sighed and plopped on the couch. He rested his feet up on the coffee table in front of him and began to twiddle his thumbs. After a few seconds of waiting he began to look around the room. After a few seconds of looking he noticed a paper on the floor, he looked around and picked it up.

‘...I watched him move around the room, fear filling my heart every time he made it to the other side. The fear in my heart swelled. Every step he took made the pounding in my heart grow louder and louder. I tired to drone out the pounding in my ears, but it wouldn’t leave. Then I saw the door open. Slowly, as if it didn’t want to disturb his pacing. The pacing stopped and he waited for the intruder to enter.
A shadow entered the room and the door slowly closed. The man pulled the shadow into the light. He was tired of the games. He wanted to shadows face to be seen. I covered my face.
A fragile woman’s voice filled my ears. Her voice was soft and beautiful. It was like a sweat melody on a rainy day. Or the white flag during a surrender. But the man’s harsh voice covered hers. Her sweat melody couldn’t be heard. It was covered by the loud harsh wind. It was destroying and killing the melody.
The woman’s voice was dead. The wind took over again. Fear filled my body again. I ran, but I knew I could never outrun the wind. He swooped down like an eagle and trapped me again, like he has done so many times...’

He gasped and threw the paper to the floor. His breaths became ragged. He clutched his chest. ‘How...? How the hell did he get that...?’ He thought franticly. ‘Maybe he doesn’t know I wrote it...’

Suddenly something cold and slightly wet touched the ragged skin. Yasha jumped up and spun around. Yasha breathed as it was only Sess. Sess raised an eyebrow and handed him the beer.

“Jumpy?”

“N-No...You surprised me...” Yasha said regaining himself.

Sess gave him a look, then looked to the ground. There was the paper he was looking at earlier. His eye’s narrowed a bit in thought. ‘So he found it...’ Sess said nothing more and sat back on the couch. His arm was around the top of the couch and his one leg crossed. His cool black eyes wandered to Yasha.

“You can sit, I won’t bite,” Sess said patting the seat next to him.

Yasha snorted. “Right...like I’m supposed to believe that after what happened earlier,” he added with a blush.

Sess smirked. “But you can’t say you didn’t like it,”

The blush returned to Yasha’s face but this time he was smirking. Sess reached his hand out and grabbed Yasha’s arm. He gently tugged at it and pulled Yasha to him. Yasha let Sess pull him and fell onto his lap. Yasha rested his head on Sess’s shoulder and Sess did nothing more. Yasha looked into his eyes as Sess began to stroke his hair. Yasha reached out and touched the fierce scar up his cheek.

“Where did you get this?” Yasha asked.

Sess looked at him not blinking. “My father…” He said slowly. “He gave them to me,”

Yasha blinked, then looked down. “Oh…I’m…”

“Please, don’t” Sess said. “You’ve done nothing,”

Yasha nodded, and leaned his head back onto Sess’s shoulder. “Alright…”

“You said you had a brother,” Sess blurted out.

Yasha gave him a look, but then slowly nodded. “Yeah…I do. Though I’ve never seen him.”

“You’ve never seen him and you’re looking for him?” Sess asked raising an eyebrow.

Yasha glared. “I don’t care, I will find him.” Yasha said. “…But I’m not sure how…”

Sess sighed and pulled up a bit to face him. “Well what do you know about him?”

“Well, I only know what my mother has told me. You see he’s only my half brother. My father married another woman before my mother but she died so he remarried my mother and had me. But I know my brother is a lot older then me so he left before my father married my mother.” Yasha said.

Sess nodded. “I see, well do you have a picture?”

“No…”

“What about his name?”

“Mother died before she told me…”

Sess sighed again. He began to rub his temples. ‘How is he supposed to find his brother when he doesn’t even know what he looks like or even his name?’ Sess looked at him again and touched Yasha head.

“Also you live in an apartment right? So how are you paying the rent?”

“I have enough money to last me for another month or so, after that I’ll have to get a job,” Yasha said.

“You know the school does not permit students to have after school jobs?” Sess said. “You have to get special permission from the…”

“No problem!” Yasha said and grinned. “I’m in with the principal, she see how things are and let me get a job,”

Sess quirked an eyebrow yet again. “And how do you already know her?”

“I used to date her granddaughter back in Kyoto,” Yasha said.

“Wouldn’t that make her hate you?”

“No, Kaede is the kind of woman who is kind to just about anyone. Besides she knows what happened between me and Kikyo,” Yasha said smiling sadly.

Sess nodded and didn’t press for more. He could tell by the pain clearly showing in his eyes that it was still painful to him. Sess himself wasn’t the best at relationships but knew when not to say anything or ask too much.

Suddenly a loud noise erupted from behind them and Sess was pounced to the floor. Yasha blinked and started to laugh loudly. Rin had snuck up on the two while they were talking and jumped Sess from behind. Sess rubbed his head and started to glare at whatever pounced him. Rin giggled and hugged him tightly. Sess sighed and hugged her back. Yasha grinned at the two and leaned in.

“Looks like she got you old man,” she said grinning.

Sess twitched. “Old man huh?” Then he suddenly smiled sweetly and gently brushed Yasha’s face.

Completely taken off guard a large blush found its way to his cheeks. Sess leaned in a bit then suddenly yanked on Yasha’s waist and pulled him down to the floor. Yasha yelped out and crashed into Sess’s chest. Rin giggled loudly and latched herself onto Yasha’s back.

“Yasha fall down!” She shouted.

He sputtered and began to glare at Sess. Sess smirked and turned away. “Should have been paying attention…boy,” he said.
Yasha twitched. “Boy…I’ll show you boy…” he muttered.

He pounced in to air and tackled Sess to the ground. Then their small struggle began. Rin watched and cheered as they rolled over each other and fought to gain dominance. Sess grabbed his shoulder and yanked him down quickly. Yasha cried out loudly and clutched his shoulder. He curled into a ball and held onto his shoulder. Rin giggled thinking he was playing around. Sess’s eyes narrowed and gently leaned into Yasha. He let out a small whimper and tried to pull away.

“Yasha? What is it? It’s me Sess,”

Yasha’s eye peaked out of its hiding spot. “S-Sess...” he said softly.

“Yasha, show me your shoulder...”

Yasha stopped and thought for a moment. The slowly let Sess come near him and look at his shoulder. Sess gently touched it and began to move it around. Asking every so often if ‘this hurt?’ or ‘did this hurt?’ Yasha grunted every so often but continue to let Sess touch him.

“Papa? Is Yasha hurt?” Rin asked. She moved closer to the two.

“You didn’t break anything...” Sess said slowly. “What happened? I didn’t pull you that hard,”

Yasha rolled his arm a bit, and turned to him. “Na, it was always like this. I had an accident when I was younger and I did some permanent damage,” Yasha said.

“How did Yasha hurt himself?” Rin asked.

Yasha looked to Sess; he nodded then turned to Rin. “Rin, I believe it’s your bed time,”

She blinked. “Okay Papa...” she sighed and hugged Yasha. “Night, night Yasha,” She then hugged Sess and ran to her room.

Once the door was closed and they were sure she wasn’t listening in Yasha looked at Sess. “...Well you see when I was in Kyoto, before I met my old girlfriend Kikyo. I was in the sixth or seventh grade and I joined a gang.” Yasha started.

“A gang?” Sess questioned.

“Yeah...had nowhere else to go...Mom died, and Dad...well he wasn’t around much.” Yasha said looking away. “So I needed to belong somewhere right? Anyway, it was my first fight with the rival gang. The boss put me in back thinking I’d get in the way. But the rival gang took down the first two guys pretty easy.”

“Since I was pretty small they couldn’t really catch me. So I was attacking all over the place.” Yasha smiled. “I had this great knife; I named it Tetseiga...Yeah that got me out of a lot of close calls. But just when I thought I was doing good, a guy grabbed me from behind and twisted my arm around my back. Since I was so small he easily pulled my arm so hard that it snapped. After that I blacked out.”

Sess nodded. “Then what?”
“I woke up in the hospital. Some guy found me in the street, my gang members left me there. The doctor told me that it would heal but I would have major problems with it later.” Yasha smiled sadly. “You know what’s worse? I went back to them...I don’t know why...I guess they made me feel like I belonged more then my dad did.”

Sess shook his head. “Looks like we have something in common...”

“Hm? What do you mean? You were part of a gang?”

“No, but my father was abusive too,” Sess answered.

Yasha snorted. “...I could have taken him down...”

“...If you were brave enough too. Abusive parents usually start when a child is young, and during that time they are very impressible. It’s easy to control a child like that, for they fear you.” Sess cut in quickly.

Yasha crossed his arms. “...I was just waiting for a good opportunity...” Yasha said quietly.

Sess didn’t answer him. Both of them sat there in silence. Yasha turned to Sess to see him meditating. Yasha sighed to himself and yawned loudly. Sess snapped out of his thoughts and turned to Yasha. He patted his head and kissed his forehead.

“You are quite noisy sometimes you know?”

Yasha snorted. “This is the love I get...”

“No but I can show you real love...” Sess whispered into yasha ear.

Yasha’s eyes went wide and he jumped back. Sess chuckled a bit and threw him a blanket. Yasha easily caught it and held it for a moment.

“You can sleep on the couch if you want,” Sess said.

Yasha blinked. “Your not gonna offer your bed?” he said without thinking.

Sess gave him a look and Yasha mentally smacked himself. “Uh…what I mean is…uh…” Yasha said stuttering.

Sess gave him a small smirk and brushed his hand against Yasha’s hair. “I would but you seem a little edgy tonight, maybe another time,” he said and headed for his bedroom.

Yasha blushed but nodded. He quickly turned to Sess. “Thanks! I mean thank you…”he said quickly.

Sess watched him without blinking. He nodded and closed the door. But before doing so he called out to Yasha.

“Watch some TV if you want,”

@~’~~,~~

Yasha woke up to something heavy on his chest. He muttered and tried to roll over but the thing on his chest cried out. He grumbled and slowly woke up. As he opened his eyes he came face to face with Rin. She smiled cutely and placed her hands on his chest.

“Morning Yasha!” She cried out.

He grumbled.

“Cartoons are on! Watch them with me ok?” she asked.

Again he muttered something incoherently but nodded in agreement. She smiled and went back to her show. After a few minuets of watching he felt something wet on his cheek. He quickly turned around and was face to face with Sess.

“Jeez you people just keep popping out of nowhere!” he shouted.

Sess smirked and licked his cheek again. Yasha glared at him until he sat down next to him and gently draped his arm around his shoulders.

“You don’t have to be that gentle with me, I’m a lot stronger then that.” Yasha muttered.

“I can do anything right for you,” Sess said grinning.

Yasha stuck his tongue out, cause Sess to quickly move forward and kiss him. Yasha caught off guard didn’t react to the kiss. Sess pulled his arm around Yasha’s shoulders closer to him so that their chests were pressing together. Yasha’s arms slowly went around Sess’s neck and began to play with his hair. Suddenly Rin cried out in surprise. Sess pulled back and looked at his daughter.

“What is it?”

“The cartoon’s are gone!” she cried out while pointing at the TV.

Sess and Yasha looked to the TV to see a news report flash on. “…Brutally murdered last night. Their bodied were found in a dumpster of a local bar. The police have yet to find out who had done this…”

Sess’s eyes narrowed. ‘That’s the bar I always go to…’ he thought. The report continued.

“…This man here was at the bar before the men were murdered.” The news reporter turned the camera to face a man with long messy black hair in a ponytail and a silky black button up. Yasha growled.

“Naraku…he probably murdered them…” Yasha said.

“…I wasn’t at the bar very long. I had to get home to my two daughters. But I saw the guy who was murdered. He was extremely drunk, stuttering and just sloppy.” He said.

The reporter nodded. “Anything else?”

“...Well he started talking about his wife, and how she left him and took their kids. I think he killed himself if anything. He was with a friend before but I’m not sure. What friend would leave him behind if he was in such a state...”

Click!

Rin and Yasha turned quickly and looked at Sess. He had changed the channel. Rin reached for the remote and started looking for another channel with cartoons. Yasha looked at Sess for a moment. His eyes were narrow and covered by his bangs. Yasha timidly reached forward to brush his bangs away, but Sess quickly pulled his face away and got up.

“Sess?”

“Let’s go out, a walk or something...” Sess muttered.

Yasha nodded without question and pulled on his shirt. Sess leaned to Rin. “Rin, do you want to go outside?”

She nodded eagerly. “Yes, yes!”

“Good then get ready,” he said.

She jumped up and ran for her room. Once Yasha had his shirt on he went into the kitchen and grabbed the carton of milk. He pulled it open and started to drink form it. Sess frowned.

“Why don’t you get a glass?”

Yasha shrugged. “Why waste a glass? We’re going to leave soon anyway,”

Sess shook his head. “Do you want to stop by your place so you can get some clean clothes on?” Sess asked.

Yasha shook his head quickly. “No, unless you want Rin to meet Naraku...”

Sess glared. “Right. You can barrow something then,”

“Ah wait am I gonna fit in anything of yours?”

@~’~~,~~

“I am going to kill you for this...” Yasha muttered to Sess.

Sess chuckled as he held Rin. Sess had found a large button up for Yasha a pair of tight fitting jeans that hasn’t fit Sess in years. The shirt was so large it made Yasha look a lot younger then he actually was. Plus Sess couldn’t find a clean shirt to wear under it so he only wore the button up. Yasha blushed at all the attention he got, and shifted uncomfortably in the tight pants.

“Damn couldn’t you find something else?”

“Everything else was dirty or way to large for you,” Sess said simply.

A group a girls passed by the couple. They giggled and blushed a Yasha. One girl stopped him and handed him a slip of paper. He looked at it curiously then opened it. He growled then threw it down. Sess wrapped an arm around him.

“What was it?”

“Her number...I swear if I get one more of these...” he muttered.
Sess shook his head and tightened his grip on Rin. The couple walked to an ice-cream booth to buy Rin an ice cream when someone grabbed Yasha from behind. Yasha yelped and whipped around quickly.
“Miroku!” Yasha shouted. “What the hell was that for?”
“Well I was with some very nice woman, when a girl came running to them telling them that this ‘really hot guy’ was coming by, so I had to see for myself. You know maybe learn a few tricks.” Miroku answered. “I now see it is you causing all the woman to go after you.”
Miroku looked Yasha up and down then nodded. “Yes…yes…I see it now…nicely toned chest, no hair…”
Yasha made a face, then glared.
“…And you not too pale…it’s all becoming clear now!” Miroku said pounding his fist in his hands. “So how is Mr. Youkai?”
“Huh? Oh Se-I mean Mr. Youkai is fine.” Yasha said quickly.
Miroku turned around to see Sess sitting on a bench watching Rin. His hand clutched onto his chest. Miroku’s eyes narrowed and he turned to Yasha.
“He still looks like he’s in pain…”
“He wasn’t complaining this morning!” Yasha said but then covered his mouth.
‘Shit, shit, shit…’ he thought over and over again. Miroku touched Yasha’s shoulder and leaned into his ear.
“I’m not going to say anything about your love life, but you might want to help him, and quietly. There might be some people here from our class and if they find out about your relationship with Mr. Youkai then things could get ugly.” Miroku whispered.
Yasha’s eyes widened. “How…?”
“Later…You might want to help him,” Miroku said pointing to Sess. Yasha nodded.
“Thanks…”
“No problem,” Miroku whispered and followed him to help him with Sess. Yasha approached Sess first.
“Sess? Are you alright?”
Sess glanced at Yasha and blinked at him. He motioned for Yasha to sit down and nodded for Miroku to sit down. Miroku sat on the ground Indian style and placed his hands on his feet. Yasha sat next to Sess and gently touched his arm.
“So your friend found out about us?” Sess muttered.
“Well, yes. But you might want to hide it a bit better.” Miroku said closing his eyes. “It might not turn out well for you two if you don’t,” Miroku said.
Sess closed his eyes and leaned his head back. Listening to the small hum of the wind and the children playing. Rin’s laughter filled the air. She ran up to the small group and hugged her father.
“Papa! Look it’s the man from yesterday!” She shouted pointing at Miroku.
“What a memory! It is nice to see you again Lady Rin,” Miroku said and kissed her hand.
Rin blushed a nice shade of pink and hugged Sess. Sess raised an eyebrow and Yasha stifled a laugh. He patted Miroku’s back.
“Always A lady charmer Miroku…”
@~’~~,~~
Yasha slammed his door shut and ran for the bus. The weekend had passed by a little too quickly for Yasha. He had spent the whole time with Sess and Rin. Getting to know them better. After he got home he had found out that Kagome called him. It was then he realized he would have to let down Kagome in a nice way. He spent all night trying to think of a way to let her down easy. He could tell that she liked him but he didn’t want to lead her on, not like Kikyo had with him.
Yasha ran for his bus like his life depended on it. But he missed it none the less. He sighed and slammed his fist against the bus stop. ‘If only I had a car…’ he thought. He heard a noise behind him. He got his bag ready to hit what ever was coming his way. Just then what ever was watching him popped out of the bush. He sighed and dropped his bag.
“Kagura,”
“Yasha,” she replied.
“What are you doing here?”
“Watching you, duh.” She said.
He sighed and sat down. She brushed off her unused uniform and sat next to him. She pulled her knees to her chest and held them here. Yasha crossed his legs and began to whistle to himself.
“Why are you still here?” she asked.
“Well I missed the bus, you saw – “
“No, I mean why don’t you just walk there?” she asked.
“Too far, plus now I don’t feel like going to school,” Yasha said. He pulled his arms behind his head. “Wanna go get something to drink?” he asked.
“Sure, I don’t like mornings here anyway,” Kagura said.
He got up and started walking with Kagura to the nearest mini mart. Once they were there Yasha began rummaging his pockets for money. Kagura stepped in front of him.
“I’ll pay,” she said.
“You have money?”
“Yeah…”
Yasha shrugged and they entered. Once entering Yasha gasped in surprise in what he saw there. “Sango?” He said unsure.
Sango from behind the counter gasped and hid herself. Yasha ran up to the counter and looked in. Sure enough it was Sango. She wore the mini mart outfit and was covering her face. She looked up at him slowly. Peaking her open through her hands.
“Y-Yasha? That’s your name right?” she said stuttering.
“Yeah, what are you doing here, and why aren’t you at school?” he asked.
She glared. “I could ask you the same thing Yasha. Skipping school because you think you’re so cool. And look you’re cheating on Kagome with that girl over there!” Sango shouted, while pointing at Kagura.
Kagura blinked at the girl but said nothing. “Whoa, whoa. Sango listen I’m not going out with Kagome. I went out on one date with her. That doesn’t make me her boyfriend,” Yasha answered. “And where do you get off at accusing me? You’re here too!” Yasha shouted.
“I’m here for a good reason!”
“Really what? You know you’re not allowed to have an after school job,” Yasha said.
“I-I know…but…”
“But?”
Sango said nothing for a moment. She closed her eyes and sat back on the counter. Kagura completely ignored the two and went down the alleys for something to buy.
“…My brother is sick…” she said softly.
Yasha stopped and let her continue. “You see he’s really sick. He’s been in the hospital for a while now. And my fathers job doesn’t pay for all the medical bills, so I got this job to help him,” she said.
Kagura came back to the counter with a hand full of snacks. She looked a Sango and waited for her to ring up her things. Sango grabbed them and began to ring them up. Yasha leaned against the counter. Once Kagura paid she handed Yasha something and left. Sango turned to Yasha.
“Please don’t tell anyone…If I lose this job then we won’t be able to pay for Kohaku’s medical bills,” she pleaded.
Yasha nodded. “Fine, I gotta get a job soon anyway…Rent doesn’t pay itself you know,” he said and waved to Sango.
She breathed and smiled. She waved goodbye to Yasha. Yasha caught up with Kagura as she was eating some shaved ice. She turned to him.
“I didn’t hear a thing,” she said.
And they kept it that way.
@~’~~,~~
Ring! Ring!
Yasha reached and answered his phone. “Hello?”
“Yasha, its Sess. How are you?” Sess’s voice greeted him.
Yasha almost smiled. ‘He’s worried about me…’ “Fine, doing some babysitting,” Yasha answered.
“Really? Is that why your weren’t here today?”
“What? Missed me?” Yasha said seductively.
A laugh met him on the other end. “No I was glad my class room was so quiet today,” Sess said.
“Ha, very funny,” Yasha said glaring at his phone. “So why did you call?” he asked.
“I wanted to know if you wanted to go out,” Sess said mildly. “A movie or dinner or something,”
Yasha paused. “Like a date?”
“Sure call it that if you want,” Sess said. “I have a babysitter for Rin, do you want to go?” Sess asked again.
Yasha felt his heart pounding for some reason. ‘Why am I so nervous? I’m acting like some school girl…’ he thought. But he couldn’t stop blushing. ‘I guess the thought of me and Sess on a date makes me nervous…maybe I shouldn’t…’
“Do you want to go or not?”
“Sure!” Yasha said before he clearly thought it out. He smacked himself mentally. ‘Damn it I sound too eager…’ he thought angrily.
“Ok I’ll pick you up in a few minuets then,” Sess said and hung up.
Yasha dropped the phone and sat on his chair. He ran his fingers through his uncombed hair. Then looked at himself. He still hadn’t showered, and he needed clean clothes. ‘How do I go on a date with a guy? Is it any different? Do we hold hands?’ He thought. He began to smack his head on the table. Just then he heard his window click open.
“What the hell are you doing?” Kagura asked.
Kagura had now been coming over to Yasha’s house through his window almost every night now. Yasha hadn’t minded too much, but sometimes it did annoy him.
“Don’t you use the door?” he asked coldly.
She stuck out her tongue and started for his small kitchen. “Hey now, I need to get a job and I’m low on money right now,” Yasha said.
“Your not low on beer,” she said while opening one and taking a sip.
He snarled and she stuck her tongue out again. “But seriously, why are you banging your head on the table?” she asked.
“Ok if you must know, I have a date...” Yasha said.
“So...?”
“It’s a guy, and I’ve never been out with a guy before...” Yasha said.
“A guy? Really now, I thought you were straight,” she said rolling her eyes.
“I’m...” he started. But then stopped himself. “I don’t know, I’ve never liked guys before. In that way I mean. But I guess I don’t really care with him.” Yasha said thoughtfully.
Kagura nodded. “Well Yasha that is one of the few thoughtful things I have ever heard you say, it sounds like you might have a brain,” she said.
He threw a shone at her and she dodged it gracefully. He grunted and began to change into something cleaner. Once that was done he began to look for his wallet. After rummaging through all his dirty clothes and random things he turned to Kagura.
“Well do you know were my wallet is?” he asked.
“It’s a date right?”
“Yeah? So...?”
“Isn’t he paying for it?” she answered.
He thought again. “I don’t know...Whenever I went out on dates I usually paid...” Yasha said slowly.
“So who’s the dominate one in this relationship?” she asked.
“Wha-What!?” Yasha stuttered.
“You heard me, who’s on top when you guys...”
“OK! That’s enough!” Yasha shouted. He started pushing Kagura to his window. “Time for you to leave...”
“What? I didn’t say anything...” she shouted.
“I don’t care, he’s going to be here soon anyway so I want you to leave,” he said.
Kagura huffed and stomped her foot. “Fine, I understand. You don’t want me around, fine,” she said gritting her teeth.
Yasha sighed as she left his apartment with a leap. He rubbed his head and promised himself to apologize later. Just then he hear a knock at the door. ‘This is it...’ he thought.

WAI! Cliff hanger! Not really, but oh well. I know it’s not real angst like I promised but it will get form bad to worse in the next chapter. And I do promise a lemon. Next chapter will have a lemon. It’s like my English teacher says. ‘There are three parts to a tragedy. The first is the suffering, the second is realization, and finally resolution’ and trust me the resolution is never good.
