Chapter Six
Catriona groaned from her spot on Inu Yasha's back. The same spot she'd been since that morning when she'd sprained her ankle, slipping into a hole she didn't see in time to avoid. And now, despite her efforts to not baby her ankle, she was on Inu Yasha's back, her muscles screaming from the lack of her own movements. "Can I please get down Inu Yasha?" she grumbled. "Or can we at least stop so I can stretch for a few? My muscles are killing me."
"Will it get you to shut up?" Inu Yasha asked, tired of hearing her groan & complain. That was all she'd done since she first got pushed on his back by Sango & Kagome with no help from Miroku. She'd messed up the fur on his ears three times so far & he couldn't take it much longer.
"If we can rest for at least three minutes, then yes," Catriona replied, messing up the fur on his ears again, knowing how it was getting on his nerves.
"Fine." They found an appropriate spot for resting & he let her slide off his back where Sango was ready to help her sit on a fallen tree. Inu Yasha walked over & sat next to her on the tree. "I'm sorry about that stupid monk," he spoke, looking at her. "If I'd have known that's why he'd gone to look for you I would've gone myself."
"It's okay Inu Yasha," she said, patting his leg, "you didn't know, so I'm not mad at you... I have no right to be anyway. And besides," she paused, a blush creeping to her cheeks, "it gave me a chance to have another run-in with that brother of yours."
Inu Yasha cocked his head slightly to get a better look at her down-turned face & when he saw the blush, he shook his head, looking straight. "So, you like Sesshomaru, huh?" he asked as he pulled his one leg up underneath him, his other leg hanging down still.
"I don't know," she answered, looking up at him, causing him to look at her. "I mean, he doesn't make any moves to hurt me & he's saved me every time I got in trouble away from you guys. He's given me no reason to fear him, but every reason to trust him. The complete opposite of Miroku."
"Cat, despite what you've seen so far, he's not the kind of someone you can trust," he sighed, looking down at the ground to break their eye contact. "I know first hand since I lived with him before my father died."
Catriona sighed as she rubbed his leg sympathetically. "I'm sorry you've lived your life Inu Yasha, but I"m sure it'll get better for you." It was then she noticed his ears were back & his lip was curled up slightly. "Inu Yasha?" She looked in the direction he was looking but she couldn't see anything. "Inu Yasha, what is it?"
"We have to go," was all he said as he got up & helped her onto his back. "Come on guys, we need to get going," he said to the others who followed after him as he walked away from the others with a very confused Catriona on his back.

After almost a full day of traveling, Kagome finally convinced Inu Yasha to stop so they could make a camp to sleep at. It took quite a few 'sit's to convince him & luckily Catriona had been off of his back at the time. However now his back was out again & to make it worse, tonight was the night of a new moon, meaning the group was basically in danger if they need the Tetsusaiga to be used. Kagome had slipped off to go bathe since she felt dirty & Sango had gone with her, bringing along her Hiraikotsu incase they were to need protection. This meant that Catriona, Miroku, Shippo, & Inu Yasha were alone at the fire.
Catriona felt outnumbered by all the guys, but she knew she only had to worry about Miroku since he was the one who wanted her to be his. She was sitting next to Inu Yasha & Shippo was in her lap, nibbling on an oreo cookie she'd given him from her stash. "Do you like the cookie Shippo?" she asked, looking down at the fox demon child who just nodded & didn't look up. She looked at Inu Yasha & gave him a small smile even though he was pouting over being human for the night.
Inu Yasha looked at her & forced himself to mirror the smile before he looked at the ground, his pout returning. "Why are you smiling?"
"I think your human form is kinda cute," she smiled. "If you ask me, you look better with black hair than silver." She reached her hand out to touch the hair & even though he gave her an odd look, she ran her fingers through it. "It still has it's soft texture."
"Things carry over when I turn human, but other things don't," he replied. "Unfortunately, my back pain carried over," he sighed then winced as a small pain wave shot through his spine.
"Want me to take care of it for you?"
"No, you've got Shippo in your lap & I don't want to bother you for it," he said when he really did want to get ride of the pain.
"You know Inu Yasha, you are as readable as a kindergarten book being read by a twenty-one year old."
"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?"
"Bad," she smiled, looking down to Shippo. "Can you please move kiddo?" When Shippo moved, she got on her knees & brushed the dirt off her ass. "Lay down on your stomach," she instructed to Inu Yasha who did as told. "Same place as last time?" she asked as she grabbed her lotion & straddled the back of his legs so she wouldn't be sitting on any pain. When he nodded, she put some lotion in her hands & warmed it a little before she began working out the knots along his spine that Kagome had caused by her last string of "sit" commands.
Miroku watched with jealousy as she rubbed Inu Yasha's back to help him lose the pain that bothered him. Note to self: Hurt back as bad as possible to get her treatment... Miroku thought to himself as he stood up. "I'm going to go scout the area," he murmured as he left the camp.
"Don't go too," he paused to moan as she rubbed out another knot, "far."
"Yea yea yea," was all that was said by the monk as he kept walking.
"Is your back feeling any better so far Inu Yasha?" she asked as she added more pressure to one specific area. When he moaned again, his body relaxing more underneath him, she grinned. "I'll take that as a yes."
"What are you doing to him that he's making those sounds?" Shippo asked, his head tilted in curiosity.
"It's called a massage," she answered, rubbing out the last knot that was proving to be a little difficult than the others. "Want me to give you one later so you can see how good they feel?"
"Sure!" he smiled. "Can I get another cookie from your snack bag?"
"Dig in little guy, just leave some for me," she smiled before she looked back down to Inu Yasha's back, watching her hands work out the last knot. "Inu Yasha, since I'm done, do you want me to stop or do you want me to continue for a little bit longer?"
"Can you please keep going? It feels too good for you to stop now."
"You got it Yasha," she smiled & stopped long enough to put some more lotion in her hands since the lotion was rubbed into his kin already. When she had it warm enough, she continued the massage, moving her hands around his whole back this time, letting his back feel the full pleasure of the massage.
