Chapter Six
Sesshomaru was in the dining room, watching Rin eat her dinner when Takara finally returned to the castle later that night. She was no longer with the demon he had given her to take with her, because she had destroyed it, knowing she wouldn't need it for a few days, maybe longer. She walked into the dining room & tossed the jewel shard from the demon onto the table, watching it clatter until Sesshomaru put his hand on top of it, stopping it's movements. He looked at the fragment then to her & asked, "What happened? You don't smell of the blood I expected you to."
Takara looked at Rin then to Sesshomaru. "My Lord, I think it best for me to tell you away from the ears of the young Lady," she answered.
Sesshomaru nodded & looked at Rin. "Can you stay here for me Rin? And not go near that door, no matter what you hear? Can you do this for me?"
"Yes Lord Sesshomaru," Rin smiled wide before she went back to eating.
Takara left the room as Sesshomaru stood & followed, shutting the door behind himself. "Now tell me, Takara, what happened?"
"The ones you told me about did show up as you said my Lord," Takara said. "But I'm afraid I did not kill the girl." Takara dropped to her knees at his feet, head bowed down. "I'm sorry my Lord. I did not follow your orders."
Sesshomaru looked down at the submissive woman, thankful she was not being as stubborn & irresponsible for her actions as his other servants. He'd hate to have to kill her. "I smell blood," he finally spoke. "Who does it belong to?"
"A few villagers, but they were killed by the demon you sent with me. I did however, use the arrow you coated in your poison."
"On who?"
"The hanyou that traveled with them. I know you told me to only kill the girl, but when I saw him, my blood boiled & couldn't help it. I buried the arrow in one of his ribs since you told me not to kill anyone else. The poison itself can kill the monster," she growled, thinking of Inu Yasha.
"And why did you shoot him instead of the girl?"
"He stood infront of her or I wouldn't have noticed him & the girl would be dead my Lord. But when I saw him, I got revenge for my village. I'm sorry my Lord," she lowered her head further. "I await my punishment."
Sesshomaru stared down at her before he spoke again. "Go to my bed chamber & wait for me there no matter how long I take, understood?" When Takara nodded & rose to her feet, he reached out, lightly brushing her cheek with his claws. "First, go to your chamber & change into something that does not reek so of human blood."
Takara bowed her head. "Yes my Lord." Rising her head, she turned on her heel & went up the stairs that led to her room.
Sesshomaru watched her go before he went back into the dining room & sat across from Rin, who looked up at him from her empty plate & smiled. "Why are you smiling?" he asked her, brushing some hair from his face.
"I'm happy Lord Sesshomaru gave me a friend," Rin answered, smiling wider. "I enjoy her company when she isn't in your chamber Lord Sesshomaru. She's fun to play with & it's nice to have someone to brush my hair."
"I see."
"Are you going to wed her?"
Rin's question caught Sesshomaru off guard & he stared at the girl, his pupils narrowing slightly. "Rin?"
"Yes Lord Sesshomaru?"
"What would give you the idea that I would wed her?"
"I know you don't like any humans beside me, but I just thought that since she isn't a human, you'd wish to wed her."
He was about to speak again, when a faint scuffling sound in the shadows was picked up by his ears & he turned his head, looking at the figure in the corner. "Jaken," he said. "Come here." He watched the toad demon emerge from the shadows, clutching his staff with fear. "Why were you spying on me Jaken?"
"I-I-I-I w-wasn't m-m'lord," Jaken replied, trembling in his spot.
"Then why were you watching me from the shadows?"
"Would you believe I was dusting?"
Sesshomaru glared at Jaken as his eyes turned red, his black slits turning blue. "You know I hate it when you lie to me Jaken."
"I-"
"Be quiet Jaken. You'll only spout more lies that could land you six feet under."
"Yes m'lord."

When Sesshomaru finally made it to his bed chamber, he found Takara on his bed. She must've gotten tired, he thought as he shut the door & shed his boa & kimono, laying on the bed next to her sleeping form. He looked at her face, watching her sleep. How could Rin know she isn't a human? She's only seen her as a human, not like this...
Takara had fallen asleep in her true form instead of the human illusion she normally donned. This meant her hair was longer & she was now to his height. Instead of the outfit she'd come home in, she now wore barely anything but a silk covering he'd brought to her from a spider demon he was in contact with. She stirred when she felt soft kisses trailing along the hollow of her throat & a hand softly rubbing her side. "Lord Sesshomaru?" she asked as she opened her eyes to look at the demon Lord that was no longer kissing her neck, sending pleasure chills down her spine, but looking into her light purple eyes, glazed with a mixture of sleep & slowly taking over lust. "Do you not have a punishment in mind for my disobedience?" she question, a hint of fear in her eyes since she had once seen him punish one of his servants for not obeying orders & it hadn?t been a very pretty sight for her to witness.
"No Takara, I have no punishment in mind," Sesshomaru answered, lightly touching her face with his clawed hand, his thumb brushing against her cheek as he leaned slightly forward, his eyes half closed.
"But I disobeyed you my Lord."
"Yes, but the hanyou that you shot instead, was a good target. You've done me a great favor by disobeying me."
"I do not understand."
"That hanyou, was my half-brother, Inu Yasha. His mother is the reason my father is dead." Sesshomaru captured her lips with his own for a few moments in which her eyes closed & her body moved closer to his own, almost pressing against him. When he broke the kiss, she found herself looking at his face with a pleading look. "I owe you a thank you for wounding my brother. I wish I could say the poison is going to kill him."
"What do you mean?"
"He may be a half-demon, but he still has a demon's healing ability. It should take him longer to heal, but he won't die. You've delayed him quite a bit my dear."
'My dear'? He called me dear... she thought as she watched him study her face as if he was looking for something. "Why are you studying me, Lord Sesshomaru?"
"Before I came here, Rin asked me a question that took me by surprise & I'm beginning to wonder if maybe she was right in asking."
"What did she ask?"
"You'll find out soon enough Takara," he answered as he closed his eyes & brought his lips to hers once more in a more insistent kiss that stole her away as her own eyes drifted close. He pulled her on top of him & she straddled him as he ran his fingers through her silky hair before he pulled her closer, deepening the kiss as his hands ran over her breasts through the silk material.
