Chapter Eleven
Sesshomaru sat in the dining room, his chin on his hand, his eyes narrowed as he stared at the floor, trying to think of where Takara could have gone, or who could have taken her. Naraku had proven to be nowhere near the castle & the only scents in the castle were those of himself, Rin, Jaken, & the other servants, including Takara. He had sent jaken on a run to find out if there was any sighting of Takara by herself or with anyone, but he hadn't returned yet & he was getting irritated.
Rin walked into the dining room & stood by Sesshomaru, tugging on his boa. When he looked down at her, she asked him, "Lord Sesshomaru?"
He didn't look down to her. "Yes Rin?"
"Where did Jaken go?"
"He went to search for Takara, but as you can tell, the miserable servant hasn't come back yet."
Rin looked at the emotionless face of Sesshomaru & frowned. She'd noticed that since Takara was brought to the castle by him, there had been a new life in his eyes, but once again, it was gone. She lowered her head & sighed, wishing Jaken would return so Sesshomaru could be happy again.
As if on cue, Jaken, reeking of blood & smoke, ran into the room, panting. "I have returned m'lord," he spoke.
"It's about time Jaken," Sesshomaru growled, his tone the only thing changing. "What news did you find?"
Jaken glanced at Rin then to Sesshomaru. "Perhaps Lady Rin should-Ack!" Jaken was thrown across the room by an annoyed Sesshomaru. When Jaken recovered & stood to his feet. "What was that for m'lord?"
"You called her Lady Rin. Have I given you permission to call her Lady Rin? Are you of authority to call her Lady Rin?"
"No m'lord."
"Is she my daughter or significant other?"
"No m'lord."
Rin looked between Jaken & Sesshomaru. "I'm sorry for my interruption, Lord Sesshomaru, but do you want me to leave you & Jaken to your privacy?"
Sesshomaru looked at her. "Please do Rin. I don't want you to hear what may be said soon." He watched as Rin nodded & left the room, shutting the door behind herself. "Jaken?"
"Yes m'lord?"
"What news did you find?"
"I found out that quite a few demons along the woods far from here have indeed seen Takara. She's traveling with a group."
"What group Jaken?"
"Your brother & his companions m'lord."

"Inu Yasha, I have a bad feeling about us sitting out in the clear like this," Kagome said, looking at Inu Yasha, who had been talking to Takara about Sesshomaru.
Inu Yasha looked at her. "What are you talking about?"
"We're just sitting out in the open, with cover for attackers all around us, & we could easily get attacked."
"I have to agree with Kagome, Inu Yasha. I too have a bad feeling about us being this vulnerable to an attack," Miroku said, throwing in his opinion.
Takara felt like she was the only one, aside from Inu Yasha, who didn't have a bad feeling about this. She felt like something good was about to happen to the group so she hadn't said anything. All she could think about was what Inu Yasha had been telling her about Sesshomaru.
"I'm telling you Takara, Sesshomaru is nothing but bad news for us all. We've told you before that he was the cause of our village being destroyed," Inu Yasha spoke, looking at Takara, who was next to him on the ground.
"But why do I feel like I should be around him? I keep having these dreams where I'm at a castle & he's there. I think it's his castle, but I'm not sure," Takara replied, playing with a blade of grass she'd plucked from the ground.
"That's because you used to be a servant of his."
"But I thought I lived at the village?"
"You did. But before you came to the village, you were a servant of Sesshomaru's, as was Sango."
"Sango?"
Inu Yasha nodded & looked at the girl. "You were both servants of his, but she escaped first, then we all went to get you. We stole you away in the middle of the night, but it was hard to do. We had to make sure he didn't catch us or we would all be killed."
"But why would you make a risk like that to save someone you never knew before?"
"Because Sango told us that you were a very good being, that you would cause us no trouble."
"Did she say why we fled from him?"
"He killed your families & was planning to kill you & her. That was why."
"He killed my family & hers?" Inu Yasha nodded. "But why would he do such a thing?"
"Because he has no caring heart. He's cold to the touch & his chest is hard, no comfort at all."
"How would you know?"
"Sesshomaru is my half-brother who forced me from the castle when I was just a young child. He'd the reason my mother is dead along with my father."
"But what did you ever do to him to make him so mad?"
"I did nothing but be born of his father & my mother. His mother having left when he was very young, no one knowing what ever happened to her."
Takara shook her head when she heard Kagome whimper & saw her looking in the direction of the bushes behind herself. She turned around & tensed when she saw what Kagome was looking at.
