The first part "mai" refers to Mai Tai, which I’m sure that those of you who are boozers know is a mixed cocktail served with little umbrellas and green swords. It was also the name of the first LEGAL drink I got when I was actually 21 (not what my lousy fake ID said). The story here is that my folks took me to this Chinese restaurant in the middle of nowhere where the entire local Asian population also were employed by the restaurant. It was one of those places that had a "lounge." There was also a pet adoption shelter across the street - hmmmmmmmmm, whats really in General Tso's chicken?
Of course, nobody was in the shady lounge, who the hell goes to drink at a Chinese restaurant? So my dad, feeling proud to be the first to buy his son a drink (though he damn well knew, I have had several million before) lets me order whatever drink I want. Of course, I pick the one I usually can’t afford. It took the waitress like an hour to bring back my drink because nobody there actually knew how to make it! When I got it, it tasted like pure vodka with an orange peel, which was fine with me, but I knew damn well it wasn’t a Mai Tai......
The "kai", well that happened to rhyme with Mai, but its actually a Beta thing, so if I told you, I would have to kill you. Of course, I will tell the police it was out of love...just not in the prison movie sense.
The "fish" well, that depends on if you have ever hung out with me.... Coincidentally it was a nickname I had at FAU.....everybody called me that. I had this rule that if any girl ever called me "fish" , I would never date her....I stuck to my guns.....this one certain sorority girl always called me fish.....one day, she started calling me "Seth", so our relationship changed a bit......thats a whole nother 6-pack of Icehouse, however I will say she was a decent kisser.....but back to the fish- besides my great history with fish (see the Fish story), yes, the name has to do with some of drinking exploits, conquests, and other morally casual experiences associated thereafter.......now those are some wild stories!
However, another interpretation of the "fish" is its part of my last name, Fishman.....so i lose some points for lack of creativity here, but hey my screenname sounds pretty damn tropical!
