I spent half of my summer in 1999 interning at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. It was a great experience for me both personally and professionally. I do miss it at times now- I loved the Oxford area and the little dive bars and of course other classy places like First Run. I lived in Hahne Hall with many of the following people while others lived off campus.
This is a page dedicated to the whereabouts of my friends from that summer and what they are doing now.
Nish Chauhan - my suitemate from the wild land of Tanzania. Nish was the posterboy for Miami, gracing the covers of many publications. What a guy. What a jackass! His girlfriend is from Sweden- Elin. Nish was real fun to live with- we were undisputedly the craziest and loudest residents of the building and both of us worked for housing!!! Kima is now in Chicago, still with Elin.
Paul Poast- the man who ate the same thing for 6 weeks. He is the most dedicated athlete i've seen in recent years and will be a great lawyer. Can get a little edgy at times- but if you ate the same food for 6 weeks- you would be too.Not sure whatever became of him...
Kevin - he was from the first pledge class of jackasses. Known for his affection for Bond. Now has graduated and I believe works in Cincy.
Barret Scurlock - our corruptable youth- he was an entering freshmen that summer and was subjected to our antics- real laid back guy- suitemate of Mike and Bernies roomie. Lives in Vegas.
Mike - Barret's suitemate. A latecomer in the jackass clan, however none the less, a full fledged member. Not sure whatever happened to him
Shalin - a true to the heart jackass too- this man has more freakin screen names than anyone I know. He is still wreaking havoc in Columbus. Look for him on a wanted poster. I talk to him here and there. 2.25.09
They certainly added life to our otherwise tame summer. The had the good life- no grades for classes and drinking everynight. Of course, they all had the same bikes too- I could never figure out how they didnt get confused...
The partying men:
Bernie- The only full member of the jackasses- it was guilt by association. Bernie is the only one who still writes me e-mails and sends me the occasional forward from Vienna. A real nice guy. Not much of a drinker though, but I bet he's an animal back home. Still emails me monthly.
Martin - The leader of the pack. Martin was the fashion king, sporting some of the wildest jean shorts I've yet to see in my life. Rumor had it that he was going to be in America. He called me a "fat ass" because I lived Florida and all Floridians are fat, according to him that is! He is happily married in Vienna and is on Facebook! 2.25.09
Franz- The most westernized of the bunch- he was big on the music scene. A pretty good athelete too.I hear he is in London now?
Heinz- the grand host of the room parties!!!! This man had good taste- I could see him opening up a fancy bar.
Robert: Alma's boyfriend and overall badass in volleyball.
Herbie: Looks like he came from a California surf event- the chronic chain smoker could drink like a sailor.
Jurgen: Just like his buddy Herbie too
Jurns: dancing machine!!! Quite a funny character!!!
Manfred- kind of a quiet guy and not really into the partying but had a real good laugh!
Jennifer Packer: Wild woman from Pittsburgh- I havent seen her in years but we talk about once a year; usually when she's got a good story. 2.25.09
Manju: She graduated University of Pittsburgh and gave a commencement address.
Little Jen: The first girl I met at Miami- I am sure she's online reeling in the men of the world! She's on MySpace and living in Cincy now... 2.25.09
Karen: This Mercyhurst transfer graduated and is now a teacher somewhere in the Ohio area.
Jess: not sure what became of her after 2000...
Kate and Tim: They were in higher education in Iowa for a bit, but that was years ago....
Whitney: This Sigma Kappa vixen probably is having a good time somewhere.
"Z": Probably making S&M movies at Mich Tech.
Michelle: Kentucky's finest-graduated St. Thomas More. Sure to be turning heads.Works in medical lab where doctors drool over her. I would. She's in Kentucky now. 2.25.09
