This picture is taken facing the head. The spider has started pushing out of its exuvia. You can see the newly emerged fangs. |
Now the new pedipalps push out. Notice the web mat G. rosea #3 spun to molt on. The common name for this tarantula is the Chilean Rose. Spiders have no hair, but bristles which are called setae. |
