G. rosea #3 Molt - June 2004
Several days before molting, sitting on my wrist.

I got this tarantula as a 3/4" spiderling in May 2002 from John Hoke at
espiderworld.com
Looking down on G. rosea #3 on its back, molting process has begun.
This picture is taken facing the head. The spider has started pushing out of its exuvia. You can see the newly emerged fangs.
Now the new pedipalps push out.

Notice the web mat G. rosea #3  spun to molt on.

The common name for this tarantula is the Chilean Rose.

Spiders have no hair, but bristles which are called setae.
