Story: After being assigned to protect a biological research team on the planet SR833, Samus Aran get attacked by an strange species unfamiliar to her, a parasitic race called the X. Samus appeared to be OK, and they thought nothing of it. Samus reboarded her ship and was heading back to Biologic Space Labs when she suddenly fell into unconsciousness and her ship began to drift into an asteroid belt! Fortunatly, the ship's emergancy systems automatically ejected the escape pod, which was recovered by a B.S.L. vessel, who sent her to Galactic Federations HQ. To Samus' horror, they found that the X had multipied within her, corrupting several sections of her Power Suit, which had to be surgically removed, which dramatically altered her physical appearance. However, Samus was given a minimal chance of survival because the X were embedded in her central nervous system. But a anti-X cure was found in Metroid DNA, and was immediatly injected into Samus, completely destroying the X. Samus was certainly different than before, but she never the less continued her missions as a bounty hunter. During her surgery, an unexplainable explosion occured on B.S.L. and a dark premonition stirs in her heart as she is sent to investigate... |

Comments: Simply incredible. The graphics are supurb, the sound is great, and the music is... all right... The enemies and bosses are really awesome, as well as the weapons. Metroid Fusion has more of a plot than Metroid Prime did, and a very cool one, at that, although perhaps a bit rushed at some points. There were parts in the story which had me totally surprised, but it was really awesome. The game is pretty challenging, expecially at some of the bosses, and if you want a real challenge, then try and collect every last item... I think it must be impossible to do without a player's guide. O_O It won two awards in the 2002 Nintendo Power Awards: the co-winner of Best Game -- Gameboy Advance and Best Graphics -- Gameboy Advance, but was unjustly robbed of several awards because of several other great games that came out that year. I've noticed that people into all genres of games love Metroid Fusion, which is completely understandable. |
