Comments: Don't give me that look... Surprised? Don't be. I'll admit, the TV shows, the movies, the trading cards, the action figures, the board games, all the other games, and all the other stupid junk was lame. But the original wasn't. Pokemon was a great idea that quickly spun out of control. But this game was filled with fantastic gameplay... the plot wasn't much, but the countless battles made this an awesome game. It's a ton of fun trying to find all 151 Pokemon and use them to fight. The music's nothing special, as are the graphics... Really it's the gameplay that made this game so great. It only took the Best Game Boy Game award at the 1998 Nintendo Power Awards, but really, no other game would get an award if it was in the same catagory as Ocarina of Time, but Pokemon did get first runner-up in a lot of the catogories. Regardless of what awards it may have won, Pokemon Red and Blue was a great game, and you many not like any of the other Pokemon things, but at least give this a try before you start thrashing me for putting on my favorite games list. | ||||||||||
