But five years later, strange activity erupted from Venom. General Pepper sent the Star Fox team, James McCloud, Peppy Hare, and Pigma Dengar to check it out. But upon their arrival, James and Peppy were betrayed by Pigma, who handed them over to Andross. James was brutally murder, yet Peppy managed to return home to tell James' son, Fox, of his father's fate. Several years passed, and the Lylat System is still at the mercy of Andross. Comments: This is another fantastic game overseen by Shigeru Miyamoto! One of the neatorific things about this game is how it's "arcade style." It's not a save and play game, but rather you play right through, or else your progress is erased. But some things are saved, allowing room for unlockables. You can pilot your way through the Lylat System through plane, tank, or submarine. Many mysterious friends help the Star Fox crew planet after planet. The music is awesome! And I love the maneuverability of the vehicles. It's so much fun flying all over Lylat! The enemies are great too! Although corny, I think a lot of the dialouge is really cool! Such as: "WHO ARE YOU GUYS?!?!?!" "We're Star Fox!" and "Sorry to jet, but we're in a hurry." Whew! It's fun! It can get annoying though... Is it just me or is Fox the only one who ever does any work around Lylat? Seems like he's always saving everybody else's tail, and shoot one stray laser and there's nothing but complaints. Therefore, dialouge like: "Fox! Get this guy off me!" and "Hey Einstein! I'm on your side!" Sorry to anybody who really minds... but I can't find the issue of Nintendo Power that tells what awards Star Fox 64 won... Maybe I'll find it one of these days... But regardless, Star Fox 64 is a terrific game! |
