What is PIE?
Partners In Education (PIE) is a group of dedicated parents and staff members that volunteer their time and talents to help provide our school with better resources and activities for our students. |
How to Join PIE?
Our meetings are open to the public. We have a very informal atmosphere and would like to invite everyone to attend our meetings. Your opinion matters! |
When are the Meeting?
The meetings are every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at 7:00 PM. If we make any changes in the date, they can be found in the weekly newsletter that is sent home oneach Friday by the elementary students. Babysitting is provided during the meeting. |
Where are the Meetings?
The meetings are held in the Media Center of the Primary and Intermediate schools, alternating locations each month. |
What Can You Do?
Partners In Education members provide assistance to our teachers with the Character Education and Reading Programs. We have narrowed our scope to encourage reading activities and focus on building our youth's character. |
What has PIE Done?
Some of the activities of PIE in the previous years have been:
Hosted a carnival in the Primary Building for all the students. We had a lot of fun and support from our community, parents and teachers.
Sold Southeast Warren school apparel for fundraisers.
Sponsored an Ice Cream & Sno Cone Social to cool off after the elementary Field Days activities.
Donated playground equipment, balls and jump ropes to both Milo Primary and Lacona Intermediate Schools.
Donated cash for books to match the community's donations to both the Primary and Intermediate buildings.
Provided T-Shirts for the reading program o encourage reading in our 2nd and 3rd graders.
Sponsored Kindergarten Day and 1st grade outing parties.
Supported Character Education by supplying the bus for their reward trips.
Donated $100 to each teacher for purchase or extra supplies for the classroom.
Future Plans
Support reading programs for all grades and help inspire our youth to read!
Provide dinner for teachers during parent/teacher conferences.
Plan a Fall Family Fun Night at the Milo School.
Sponsor the Cookie Walk and other fundraisers during the Milo Country Christmas Celebration.
