Radical Obedience Being a Witness for God Anonymous Read Romans 12:2, 1 Timothy 4:12, Hebrews 10:23-24 Our generation as a whole today has a really pessimistic outlook on life. Many teenagers basically have an attitude that says, “Life is crap, so why bother? You know, like, whatever. Screw life.” As time passes, our generation is falling farther and farther from God’s will for us and his great plans for our lives; we are basically handing our futures to Satan. See, society sets a standard for ‘normal,’ in which anyone who means anything needs to conform to. We all have a longing to fit in, but today’s ‘normal’ is not acceptable to God. We Christians are sometimes afraid to step out of that ‘normal’ group, out of our comfort zone, to live for God and to show our faith. But what would happen if we did? Students for Christ What We Are About Andy Adams Students for Christ is an organization built out of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes program. The main goals are witnessing to students and teaching students how to be a witness for God. The FCA program was designed as more of a fellowship for already Christians, but as Christians it is our duty to speak the word to others who have not heard it. SFC is very focused on that one goal. Through the many outreach programs that SFC already has either in place, or very close to being in place, we pray that we will be able to make a very positive impact in our community especially in our school. We wish to be able to provide Bibles for those who need them, we wish to provide multiple ways that people can learn of the glory of God, and we wish to provide a living example on what life as a Christian should be like. given it to us as our mission field! So how do we raise the bar for this generation? Jesus Christ said in Acts, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” It starts with YOU. One person, one heart. One love for God. If that one person is willing to live for God and show the world who they are, surrounding people will be effected. Like a ripple, a small group will change into a large group, perhaps all of FCA, for example. FCA could then effect the whole school. The school could effect the city, then the state, the country, and the world. But only if that one person is gonna give God 100% of them! I’m going to be blunt with you here. God doesn’t like mediocre Christians, the ones who fit into the ‘normal’ category. The ones who say, “Oh, okay, well, maybe I’ll go to church on Sunday twice a year, and maybe someday I’ll dig out that Bible in the back of my closet, and I’ll pray when I need help. But for now I’m fine.” In the Old Testament, God is talking to His people, who have strayed from Him. They, too, were bein mediocre Christians, not caring much about doing God’s will or furthering His kingdom. Know what He told them? He said, you are lukewarm, and I wanna spit you out!! Should we be content with where we are? Or are you ready to step out, to live in radical obedience to the lordship of Jesus Christ? After reading this are you gonna walk out and go forget about this and fall back into your ‘normal’ place? We are Christ’s ambassadors, his children, and his slaves. It’s about time we got off our butts and started telling people about this amazing love we have! If you were a scientist, and you had just found a cure to the world’s most common deadly and incurable disease, wouldn’t you want to tell the world about it? The same thing is happening here! Only this is an eternal deadly disease! So get off your butt and NIKE sign! Just do it!!
