Picture Gallery for Evelyn J. Abbott
If this page is displayed correctly, then you are seeing an embossed Yellow Rose that was taken by me at Evelyn's grave.
I never really knew what kind of flowers were mom's favorite, but I always rather enjoyed Yellow Roses, and Sunflowers.  When I think of Yellow Roses I think of an enduring love, one that trancends the typical Red Rose that we are so accustomed to.  Red Roses are so typical, Yellow Roses are very unique, and I can assure you that Mom was anything but typical.

When I think of Sunflowers, I think of a flower that grows so strong and big.  One that like a mother provides warmth, love, food and shelter.  To me Sunflowers symbolize life and strength.  I wanted Sunflowers for Mom's funeral because I always thought Mom was different.  I wanted her services to be different and special.  Services that were not typical, or ordinary.

You only get one chance to do a funeral up right, and I gave it my best shot.  I wanted all of her friends and family to remember that Evelyn was a most special person.  You see She was and always will be my mother, she deserves nothing less than the best I can do.

For all of you that sent flowers and plants, I Sincerely Thank You, words alone cannot express my appreciation.  May you each enjoy your memory of Evelyn as I do, one to be treasured.
