Ana María Martínez
2002- The evening's one unequivocal asset was soprano Maria Bayo... a potent, vocally thrilling performance... there was some doubt for once as to how the battle would turn out./ Review
2006-Soprano Ana Maria Martinez was a confident, somewhat acid-toned Micaëla./ Review

Ana Maria Martinez was a superbly focused Micaela./

1981-Leona Mitchell-Leona Mitchell was not perfect, but her natural timbre is finer than anybody's including Leontyne Price/ A recent review/ video
SFO SHOULD BE THIS INTERACTIVE !
Ana Maria Martinez was an arresting Micaela, her voice well-disciplined, her tone poignant. The first act duet with Don José was carefully nuanced, and her aras filled with vulnerability./ Review-(Go to a soprano for a review of a soprano.) I also saw the final dress rehersal and I'd like to add that when she was viewed from behind in the last scene, up in the window, Ana Maria captured my attention just by turning her head slightly to the right -- Now that is arresting./sfaw
Soprano Adrienne Danrich's company debut as Micaëla, the good-hearted girl from back home, was largely unfocused, an unpredictable blend of ringing high notes and unsteady chest tones / Review 2006
