A300-600 - REGIONAL PROFIT MACHINE
This widebody twin-engine, twin-aisle aircraft family covers the 220 to 360 seats market segment.
a INTRODUCTION
    True widebody comfort
    The lowest cost widebody

A cross-section ideal for freight

    One aircraft in two sizes

From the smallest of beginnings, the A300 and A310 Family has grown to be the most popular mid-size airliner family in the world. A300s and A310s are operated by more airlines in more countries than any competing aircraft.

Most significant in this success is their proven reliability with a widevariety of customers around the world: major national flag carriers, regional charter airlines, military operators and airlines opting for their first widebody.
    i COMMONALITY
      ONE AIRCRAFT TWO SIZES

The A300-600 and A310 have the same basic airframe structure, except for the wing which is optimised for each aircraft and the length of the parallel portion of the fuselage. They can have the same cabin design and travel product. They use the same airframe parts, test and ground equipment.

An aircraft to discover the market coverage
Two aircraft with the same flight crew, flight deck and cabin cross-section
The A300-600 and A310 have the Same Type Rating, allowing pilots qualified on one type to qualify to fly the other with only one day's extra training. This commonality also applies to the skilled engineers who maintain the aircraft, and pilots and engineers can use the same training simulator and training aids.

The same choice of engines is available: General Electric CF6-80C2 or Pratt & Whitney PW4000, in power ratings best suited to the particular version's design weights. With either powerplant, both aircraft are fully certified for up to 180 minutes extended-range twin-engine operations (ETOPS).

PERFORMANCE
The A310 has been designed for optimum operating efficiency in regional operations, combined with the capability to fly extended range routes. It does not carry the cost increments of design for long range operations for which aircraft such as the A340 Family are better optimised.

The A310's optimized design range of up to 5200 nautical miles (9600km) is one of the parameters that has made it the ideal 'first widebody' aircraft for airlines growing to this size of operation.

The range shown is for a full passenger payload with baggage allowance. It takes into account fuel reserves and other typical airline operating rules as well as weather conditions, such as head and tail wind.

CABIN LAYOUTS
Every airline is different, with its own particular market requirements and travel products for its customersthe travelling public.

That means that every Airbus airliner must be readily adaptable and capable of having a cabin configuration that matches the needs of each airline. Just as important, the cabin must be designed to allow rapid reconfiguration to a new layout as the travel market changes or for when the aircraft is moved to different routes or different markets.

Below are two non-specific cabin arrangements showing A310 single-class and two-class layouts.

Two Class

In the A310 cabin, seat pitch can be adapted in units of one inch. Galleys, lavatories and stowages can be located in different numbers, groupings and locations. In-flight entertainment can be incorporated in the seats or screens mounted on partitions below the overhead stowages. These make for an almost infinite variety of cabin interiors.
