Riku Aoba (青葉陸 - Aoba Riku), Seiyuu: Mamoru Miyano, Age: 16, Height: 172cm, Hair / Eye Color: Brunette / Brunette, 2nd Year Student, Member of School Cultural Festival Organization Committee

Riku Aoba is a helpful, caring and timid yet sometimes brave student that is transferred to Tsumugino Private High School in his second year. He used to live in a snowy harbor in the northeast of Hokkaido. He is often a target of a series of bizarre events and races administered by the Student Council or rather the Student Council President, Haru Sakurai. He is the love interest of Sayuri Amamiya, Tsukasa Kasuga and Mina Yayoi respectively. He is best friends with Yusuke Kayama, Kyohei Dojima & Ichiro Ishiuchi. He can understand the language of a special baby chick living in school named, Hiyokokko, who he often called Hiyo-kun in short and seek advices on everything under the sun from.

On the first day of school, he already become a target of numerous contests organized by the Student Council. The first of which is for anyone in school to catch him to earn the right to know Sayuri Amamiya's email address. He has always admired Sayuri Amamiya since that day, attracted by all her amazing attributes displayed in school told by his best friends, Yusuke Kayama, Kyohei Dojima & Ichiro Ishiuchi, all admirers of her. Riku then meets Tsukasa in school. They basically knocked onto each other at that time and when Riku offer help to her, it seems to be love at first sight for Tsukasa. Since then, Tsukasa did her best to be with Riku and tried her best to make him her permanent boyfriend and perhaps husband. Next is Mina Yayoi who met Riku during a raining day after school. But before that, Riku once helped her reach a book about dolphins in the school library although Riku did not quite remember her because of what happened to him next. She remembered him since then and has once painstakingly tried to get his mobile phone number which she did eventually in front of a temple they met sometime ago. Mina has once requested him to advise her on swimming as well nearing the time of her swimming competition which Riku accepted unhesitatingly. Like Tsukasa, she tries to have Riku for her own. Although Riku only treat her as a younger sister, he eventually receive the message of love from her in a rather unpleasant way.

His love for Sayuri started when he accidentally confessed to her on stage during which he is just acting a role at that moment in time. He eventually had this incident resolved with Sayuri but never expected that his confession towards her has stayed true. Grabbing the opportunity to be with her when she needed the most, Riku look to have won her heart with Sayuri insisting on wanting him to watch her play as well as hearing his opinion on the dress she will be wearing on the play itself before the Cultural Festival event and her plans to visit the places of Sapporo with him during the school trip there. But due to unforeseen circumstances and misunderstandings, none of this really happen.

When a new year come, Riku who is supposed to be alone is visited by three separate girls who liked him. Mina, Tsukasa and Sayuri all came to his house to eat with him, play with him and eventually went to the shrine with him where they meet their classmates there. Sayuri almost confessed to Riku about her feelings as well but that is stopped when Mina and Tsukasa found out. Then came Valentine's Day. It is a tradition that girls would give boys chocolates especially those they loved. Riku ponder if he would get any chocolates this year which he would without a doubt. Both Tsukasa and Mina both give their chocolates to him respectively with Ayame giving him obligation chocolates as well. Only Sayuri failed to do so. She is too stunned to give him the chocolates when she hear from him that he will be transferring out soon. Earlier, Riku saw Sayuri give some chocolates to Haru and thought that she loved him. It turn out to be a misunderstanding.

News of his transfer spread as both Mina and Tsukasa hear about them. They both confessed their love to Riku and ask him to give them an answer in their respective meeting places. Sayuri is just too shy to do anything while Riku continue to misunderstand the relationship between her and Haru. On the last day before he is transferred out, he give Tsukasa and Mina their answer. Feeling that he has nothing to say to her, Riku decides not to talk to her. But Sayuri insisted with the help of Haru and finally manage to confess her love to him under the legendary tree who is later called the Tree of Our Wish. Riku ended up still being transferred to another school but still maintain contact with the one he loved.
