Observation
- High chlorophyll a concentration along the
coast of Sarawak was possibly due to the higher rainfall that increased of
the river discharge that induced nutrient flux in the coastal water.
However, the chlorophyll a content could be over-estimated due to the
turbid water.
- Phytoplankton chlorophyll a concentration at
area close to river mouth is expected to be over-estimated.
- The increment of chlorophyll during Jan 2004
along the west coast of Sabah was evident.
- Higher rainfall at the east of Sabah in
December 2003 could contribute to the increase of chlorophyll a in Jan
2004.
- Higher chlorophyll a in Brunei Bay was
probably due to turbid water.
