Tamora Pierce has created a vast range of characters from the nice-smelling (Numair) to the stinky (need you ask?), to the evil (Roger) to the good (Alanna). and of course, to the liked and disliked.
We know that King Jonathon Conte the third is supposedly a "good" character. His looks are enough to swoon for, he's rich, titled, but he is a JERK!!
Need you ask why?
He slept with Delia. (is that bad taste or what?!)
He cheated on Alanna BEFORE they broke it off!! (Refer to WWRLM)
He treated Alanna badly (is he crazy or what?!)
He put Keladry under Probation.
He won't let his children choose their spouses. (Gee... I guess his children's happiness was never a priority)
He is a not so good matchmaker. Come on, a quiet, reserved Roald with an even more quiet, reserved Yamani?! Roald needs someone to shake him up!
He persuaded Princess Kalasim not to be a knight even after he told her it was alright for girls to be knights. (Talk about hypocrisy!!)
The reasons go on and on. You may or may not agree with some of the reasons, but if you find King Jonathon of Conte a world-class Jerk for one reason or another, this guild is JUST for you!
