Adrian Belew
Real Name: ROBERT STEVEN BELEW
Kentucky-born (December 23, 1949) guitarist who has played with a tremendous variety of bands such as KING CRIMSON, PAUL SIMON, NINE INCH NAILS, DAVID BOWIE, FRANK ZAPPA, TALKING HEADS. He even wrote a song for MARIAH CAREY (?).
Frank Zappa gave Belew
his first big break in 1977.
I read somewhere on the Internet that Adrian Belew's name appeared on a 1992 episode of "THE SIMPSONS" as the name of a student on an essay.
"It's not a band [KING CRIMSON] that does things in a normal fashion. There's definitely a sound to King Crimson and an attitude that you bring to the music. We don't do the normal things you might do for someone else. It's a band that's all about coming up with something new, adventurous...it always has been, and I think our audiences know that and so it's a special thing for them."
