| Karen Everson graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor of Science degree in Child & Adolescent Development with an emphasis in Mathematics. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and now will be furthering her studies by pursuing a Master's degree in Education and a teaching credential in secondary education. Karen's career goal is to teach high school mathmatics and coach a swim team. Karen is an alumni of Capistrano Valley High School; she graduated as a valedictorian and completed four years on the swim team. Karen's favorite event in high school swimming was the 500 yard Freestyle! After high school, she attended Saddleback College for two years before transferring to CSUF. Karen is the Capistrano Valley Aquatics Club Learn-To-Swim Program Director and Recreation Coordinator. Aside from her education and passion for coaching swimming, Karen loves to spend time with her friends and family, go to the beach, read, scrapbook, and sing! She is very excited about being apart of the coaching staff for the girl's swim team and is looking forward to a fun & successful 2004 season! |

| Pat Higginson moved from San Diego, where he coached boys and girls water polo for eight years at Valhalla High School. His team was undeated in league, the boys won two CIF championships and made eight final appearances, and the girls made two final appearances. He was a six time league coach of the year, two time CIF coach of the year, and Team Leader for the US Water Polo Youth Team for the past three years. Previously he was a life guard in San Clemente for eighteen years and a graduate from San Diego State University. He teaches U.S. History and Government and coaches the Girl's Water Polo/Swimming teams at CVHS. Pat is married to Jennifer Higginson, Aquatics Coach at Saddleback College; they have a two-year old daughter, Victoria (Tori), and a brand new baby daughter, Alexandria Bailey! A couple of his goals for the aquatics program and athletes at CVHS are to build a strong, large program to increase the commitment and number of athletes participating; and to have the team united in their thinking, athletic ability, and actions. |
