This is where you are going to meet The Head of the Newman House. Or second in command. Jesus is the Head. This picture is done by Thomas Kinkade. He is a Christian Artist. His paintings always have light in them. This is one of my most favorite ones for many reasons. First of all because when I look at it I see the lord in such grandour. The mountains are so mighty and the setting is so peaceful. The morning is always a new start, no matter what has happened the night before or the day before, there is always a new begining. All you have to do is just look up at the mighty, awsome Lord and he shows you that all things in him are made whole and beatiful. Second of all it also reminds me of Marvin,my hubby. He loves living in the mountains, in a little cabin, in the middle of God's Glory. If you ask Marvin where he would most like to live, in the city or here, he would be fast to tell you right here in this little cabin. Get up early in the morning and go fishing. Sit and just talk to the lord as if he were casting the line with him. Marvin: Started out a man that had no direction. His family life was not stable or a real family type environment. He did his teen things such as drinking and cruising for chicks. We met when he was 20 yrs old. He never held a job for more than a few months at a time. Marvin lived at home with his parents. We got married right away, just days before he turned 21. Marvin didn't know how to be a husband, least of all a father. But he was to become one soon. Three boys later and a horrible marriage. A Marriage that consisted of physical and mental abuse. After I had excepted the lord in '76. I tried everything I could to get Marvin to follow me and get to know the lord. In July of '77 we went out camping, Marvin and I were seting at the camp table playing cards. I had a small tape player and I was playing a tape of the New Testament, The Book of John. All of a sudden I looked up and saw Marvin with tears in his eyes. I ask him what was wrong since he had never cried in front of me before. He looked at me and said that it was his turn. I thought he meant his turn at cards. He then told me no, it was his turn to except the lord. Marvin is the biggest miracle that I have ever seen. The Lord turned a man of stone into a man as soft as velvet. A man that was abusive - to a man that cries at holding one of his grandbabies. A man that crys when ever he talks in church. He has such a soft heart. His mean, abusive streak was totally gone. I am not saying he became perfect but he changed so much. He loves the Lord with all his heart.
