With a dynamic mixture of light and darkness, Shade has proven to be one of the finest musical creations that Pittsburgh has given her unrefined beauty and strength to.  For over half a decade now, this emotionally driven rock n roll machine has surfaced in several venues in the Pittsburgh area and in other places around the United States.  Shade infuses lush and atmospheric vocal harmonies by Matt Stuart, raw guitar chords and haunting lead melodies by both Matt Stuart and Dave Woods, powerful bass lines with rich texture performed by Brad Keifer, simplistic and superb percussion by Dave Halloran, and otherworldly ingenious sounds on the keyboard composed by Craig Stuart.  It is from the previous performers that give Shade their dark, original and beautiful source of timeless sound.  With music structures from Sonic Youth to ethereal composition similarities to the band Ride, these mod rockers capture the elegance of what is yet to come in the Pittsburgh music scene.  Shade is currently finishing up their debut album with Tim Thomas and Psycho Daisy Recording Studios and plans on releasing their record before departing for their western United States tour, which includes a showcase performance at The Gig on Melrose Blvd. in Hollywood, CA on Saturday, July 27th.  There are so many things beginning to happen to this band...this is one rock n roll show that you do not want to miss.
