So, I am currently employed at a substance abuse counseling office where I teach a class called Alcohol and Drug Information School (the class they make you take when you get a DWI), do substance abuse assessments, type case note transcriptions and other basic office duties. It wasn't a field I ever thought I'd be in, but it looks like I have some training opportunities so I'll stick around for awhile. I certainly don't want to leave Fairbanks any time soon.
My hobbies include reading, watching movies, crafts (such as crocheting and painting ceramics), computers, music, and appreciating nature. (and apparently, now bowling)
I have two pets, a cat and a dog. I'm kind of allergic to kitty, but he was a birthday present to keep me company when I was out in Akiachak. He's ultra-lovey so I can't get rid of him. Furbie was a rescue from Akiachak. He's turned out to be very cute.
I originally wanted to work my 5 years as a teacher to get my loans forgiven and then eventually pick up a massage therapy certification, but I guess that's all on hold for the moment. I'd like to still get it some day if all the typing I do doesn't ruin my wrists!
